They work you hard but only because they want you to achieve maximum benefits from the exercises. They always ask, "Is that OK?" or "Is that too much?" Hannah, Tim and Myra (I may be spelling her name incorrectly...) are great. I am feeling genuine results as my pain is diminishing and flexibility increasing. I also feel like they know you better than you know yourself. At first they give you exercises to see what your limits are and gradually increase to greater difficulty. Also, it is really clean inside. They take care to keep the tables, equipment, seating area and bathrooms clean. I feel great after several months of therapy. Oh, one more thing! Attention Corporate Office: The Patient Advocate team is incredibly difficult to work with, with no help from Escalation managers. My experience has included me following up with ATI Patient Advocates three months consecutively - serious attitude issues, irritation, acting ignorant to the call I had just had with them - same voice/same name, it's the same person. One time I had to ask that they maintain a professional demeanor on one call, it was THAT bad. I was providing EOBs with proof of payment distribution (dates and check numbers per visit/bill) by email, all of which went unacknowledged both times I had sent it. Bills came again the following month, so I called again... Being put on hold constantly - upwards of over an hour on two occasions. Calling back after long holds, speaking to escalation managers (one sounded like he was taking the call by car) who don't have insight into advocate team emails so they can't speak to proof I've emailed. Getting sent to collections agency PFC - great relief - zero issues with attitude, comprehension and communication. PFC acknowledge they've received my material. PFC send material to ATI Billing the following day. Starting to feel better... I call PFC collections for an update almost 2 months later; PFC has yet to hear back from ATI billing. I call ATI back. Escalation Manager says it's with collections, can't help. Tells me to call PFC. Doesn't acknowledge that I've told him I've been in touch with PFC and they are waiting on ATI Billing. Issue continues to be unresolved while it's been over a year since treatments. Wasted time and energy. Back of the house needs major revamp. Lack of processes, lack of customer service, lack of care.

My doctor, Dr. Tauchen, recommended their therapy at the same location. I went here and I remembered the therapist, as she remembered me. My treatment started with dry needling and this procedure really helped with my pain. This was just the start as an hour more of therapy got me more mobile. I have seen progress in the few visits and continued workouts at home. My therapist, Michelle, is one of the best therapists I have ever used. She has given me hope to make my fall fishing tournament in Destin, Florida. I always make jerky for these trips and can drop off some of the jerky for my therapist and doctor.

This'll be half a review of this Athletico location and half a testament to how great physical therapy is in general. I used to be (irrationally) reluctant to start Physical Therapy. Here's how that's changed. I err on the side of "freak out unless it's perfect" for everything in my life; health, work projects, my dog's bowel movements, does my niece like me (she's 3). So imagine my dismay when my back wasn't healing a month after my IKEA Furniture Assembly Marathon 2019, presented by White Claw. "Will I ever deadlift again?" "Can I go hiking?" "Will this impact my overall strength?" These questions and more raced through my mind. My first meeting was with David; a truly fantastic guy who *really* knows his stuff. He explained to me likely causes for why I was feeling this poorly and what we (yes, 'we', as it really felt like we were a united front against the forces of lower back pain) could do to fix it. No one really talks about the impact being out of commission has on your mental health. What was great about David, and this Athletico location in general, was that all those worries about, "Will I ever move again, pain-free," just washed away whenever I was there. Maybe it was the friendly staff that made me forget, or perhaps it was the distraction of the unrelenting physical exertion that was needed to perform some of the more intense core-strengthening exercises. Either way, I felt at ease knowing one day I would get better. And today I am! It didn't happen overnight. And there was a point where we needed to extend my 'script after treating my body like garbage on a vacation where I was sitting for 50% of the day and then carrying a backpack around for 50% of the day, but I persevered! I even had *measurable* proof that I did improve. As a lover of all things science, that's just about all I can ask for. Some last few notes on David: he'll always take your email, even if it's a string of incoherent sentences catastrophizing a minor pain you had for the briefest of moments in a car ride 3 days ago. He'll always listen to you and adjust his approach depending on how you're feeling that day. And lastly, no matter how easy you think an exercise is, he can always, *always* make it more difficult. If you're in pain, give PT a try. You'll be glad you did.
