Patient care and attention was so-so, it got the job done. 4/5 Care was provided in Michigan. Attention Corporate Office: The Patient Advocate team is incredibly difficult to work with, with no help from Escalation managers. My experience has included me following up with ATI Patient Advocates three months consecutively - serious attitude issues, irritation, acting ignorant to the call I had just had with them - same voice/same name, it's the same person. One time I had to ask that they maintain a professional demeanor on one call, it was THAT bad. I was providing EOBs with proof of payment distribution (dates and check numbers per visit/bill) by email, all of which went unacknowledged both times I had sent it. Bills came again the following month, so I called again... Being put on hold constantly - upwards of over an hour on two occasions. Calling back after long holds, speaking to escalation managers (one sounded like he was taking the call by car) who don't have insight into advocate team emails so they can't speak to proof I've emailed. Getting sent to collections agency PFC - great relief - zero issues with attitude, comprehension and communication. PFC acknowledge they've received my material. PFC send material to ATI Billing the following day. Starting to feel better... I call PFC collections for an update almost 2 months later; PFC has yet to hear back from ATI billing. I call ATI back. Escalation Manager says it's with collections, can't help. Tells me to call PFC. Doesn't acknowledge that I've told him I've been in touch with PFC and they are waiting on ATI Billing. Issue continues to be unresolved while it's been over a year since treatments. Wasted time and energy. Back of the house needs major revamp. Lack of processes, lack of customer service, lack of care. read more

No communication and very unorganized. Please don't need anything from their billing office, you will spend HOURS on hold, get hung up on and your needs will NEVER be met. All without a care for their patients, especially the elderly. Throw on a language barrier and forget it. The "patient dedicated specialist" was anything but. Sad that a company that makes so much money treats the people that pay them this way. read more

STAY AWAY FRPM ATI UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO BURN. They lie about their fees to get you in and then slow bill you until they think they have you trapped. I see I am not in the minority complaining about ATI. They waited 12 months to finally send me bill for 3 months of services. I originally was told I would get in-service rates and because I was fully deducted I should not get any charges. 12 months later they finally send me a bill for $1500. If I had known in advance or even after 30 days that I was accruing fees of this amount I would have left and gone to Athletico much sooner. Equal service better fees/billing. This appears to be a deceptive practice where they deliberately slow bill in attempt to force a customer to pay their exorbitant fees. I am on my way to filing a claim with the state for deceptive practices. read more

Increased my out-of-pocket rate by 30%, what a giant disappointment! No longer can I use the clinic that knows me and will never use ATI again and will make sure everyone I know realizes that you are exploiting your position in the market for cheap gains at the expense of your customers. This is the corporate office for ATI and I am intentionally writing a review of their services. You see, I have been in frequent contact with the billing department. My insurance company is acting like the for profit that it is and making rules that were not previously in my insurance plan resulting in major expenses for me. Can you imagine back denying claims? Yeah. Integrity and ethics, that is what insurance companies are known to be missing. My insurance company is putting this slogan into action. ATI, on the other hand, seems to have more than enough Integrity and Ethics to make up for those the insurance companies lack. They have been a dream to deal with. One of the business office people even told me " your account has notes, don't worry, you do not need the stress. Your health is what is important." WOW! The care, compassion, and kindness of this staff matches that of the people in their clinics. Simply amazing. I have worked with other physical therapy providers in the past (one rhymes with I-had-to-go) and have not been pleased with the results. ATI is well above the crowd. I will save the rest for my clinic review, but this corporation has it down. They get it. Professional, kind, and great at their jobs, whatever they may be. Thank you! read more

We've been going to ATI for the last 3, almost 4 years, and up until recently have had good service. We were just notified that they will no longer be offering the pick-up/drop-off service. Like many others, this causes us significant financial and emotional stress. When we called to make a complaint, we were told this is a corporate decision and that we can use a taxi/Uber to get to the appointments. To many seniors who live on fixed incomes, this can become very expensive and is not refundable through insurance. How are we expected to afford this new and unnecessary expense?? read more

This is the corporate office, and I wrote a review for the local location, this is my review of ATI: Avoid ATI Physical Therapy! Their main goal is getting patients in as often as possible to bill the maximum hours to the insurance company, even when you (the patient) explain that too many therapy sessions with no rest in between are causing more damage and too much pain. This clearly isn't in the patient's best interest, and it violates the medical ethics oath "do no harm". My Doctor, and even workers compensation case manager, were not happy with ATI's push for constant therapy with no adequate rest. If you are in too much pain, they talk you in to going in and wasting time on an electrical muscle stimulation machine, or heat/ice treatment, just to collect money from your insurance. They wanted me to hold off and take my pain medication just before each physical therapy session, which I did like a fool. Something is wrong with this picture, if you are in too much pain, STOP. You will hopefully heal, it will just take time. Listen to your body, don't push too hard and do more damage. They will give you a sheet with appointment dates/times scheduled far in advance, and tell you it's no problem to cancel. If you have to miss an appointment, they will ask you to reschedule in the computer to hold the spot, even if you aren't sure that you can make it- telling you it's OK to cancel. BEWARE, if you can't make the appointment, they will report it on your medical records as a no show cancellation, which makes you look bad and uncooperative with your treatment. My attorney obtained my records, and I was shocked and saddened at what I read. They didn't document my complaints of too much pain from therapy, their documentation benefited them, and they made constant requests to get me in to more therapy sessions with my Doctor's office. Luckily, my attorney, my doctor, and even my workers compensation claims manager, didn't go by ATI's recommendations, and fully supported me, even though I think it was too late - too much damage was done. My review of the corporate office is vastly different than the earlier review. I had a problem with my therapist not being available for three session some two weeks before heart surgery. Although ATI knew the therapist would be unavailable, they didn't think it important to tell me before I showed up for therapy and they arranged a vastly less competent replacement. My complaint to the corporate office did not resolve the matter. However, I did receive a letter from a customer service representative that apologized for not meeting my expectations after I fired them. However, she only used her first name and the first letter of her last name in identifying herself in the letter. Must think she works with Q, M, and 007 in London. Something is not quite right with this company. read more

My experience at Downers Grove, Burlington Ave, was disappointing. The PT was working on five patients at once, spent all her time on computer. In addition, I asked the front desk for a copy of my bill and they refused, saying my insurance would take care of it. I told them I would have to pay for it, I would like a copy of my bill. They said it was in an offsite place. I said fine, here is my fax, fax it to me. It was never tendered to me. I found out later they charged $500 a visit, and $600 if the PT put their hands on me. I tore a rotator cuff. They had me come 3 times a week, and I could come 3 days in a row. I was telling them, they were hurting me, and it seemed to me they should show me the exercises and I should come back in a week. No, no, no. I must come in 3x a week they insisted. In the meantime I then hurt my neck on a machine they would put me on when first walking in, unattended. Finally I asked someone else on the floor if the machine could be adjusted, and he showed me how. After a week I talked to the manager requesting a different PT. He assigned one. It was clear all the therapists in the room were aware of my conversation with the manager. After 2 weeks I quit, as they had shown me all the exercises to do. Boy did they insist they could help me and I should keep coming back. I told them, I work out almost daily, right here in ATI, I'd ask them if I needed any more help. Rest and ice was the best exercise I could do after being injured. Think they would tell me that? No. read more
