Had he not done that, I would've gotten my ROM back. Insurance dropped me because I "wasn't making progress". I fell into deep depression as I was an extreme athlete and now I'm a cripple with a cane.

As a team we were able to do effective, conservative measures for 3 years. Recently, I developed increasing nerve pain and weakness in my ankles/feet. They obtained updated imaging and WE discussed the surgical plan that was right for me. I am 3 weeks out from a bilateral foramenotomy, microdiscectomy, and an autograft fusion of the L4/L5. My concerns were heard. I was ecstatic that we could use my own bone to create the fusion w/o hardware. As a patient, I was treated with respect, compassion, and professionalism.The results have been AMAZING! I have feeling in my right calf, for the first time in 3 years, and the nerve pain is gone. I asked why I can't see a doctor. they seem as though they're very high falutin and don't want certain patients to see doctors. I've come in to get a second shot because she couldn't do two in one day and so I came the next week here to Bolingbrook after getting the first shot in Joliet. When I got to Bolingbrook she said my appointment was 2:20 I said it was 2:40, I got here at 2:35; patient courtesy will tell you there was nobody in the waiting room that you would give the person the shot. They sent me home and I'm disabled, it takes me about two and a half hours to get ready and they asked me to reschedule. I will not be rescheduling!! When I come to a practice that refuses to treat me like a human being, let me see a doctor, and do something so simple as give a shot in my knee they are horrible, just want the insurance money and don't care.

I was able to get an initial appointment scheduled right away, zero wait! My appointment started on time. He ordered an x-ray (on-site) and then determined I needed an MRI (also on-site) so I came back a few days later for the MRI, once my insurance agreed. Once he determined what was needed he offered to do surgery the next day! I decided to wait 5 days, but I was really impressed that he could arrange for surgery so quickly! So far so good with the surgery outcome. His bedside manner is lovely. He met with my husband and I pre-op at the surgical center then my husband again after the procedure while I was waking up in Recovery. He individualized the plan as I have a duel diagnosis of cancer. It would appear that his surgical skill is excellent too as I actually feel really good and it's only 24 hours post-op. So I'm pretty sure he solved the problem! I'm up walking on crutches, no swelling and just a bit of pain! I also want to give a shout out to the other members of Dr. Chudik's awesome team at Hinsdale Orthopaedics: Brecken the athletic trainer who did my initial screening was professional, efficient, attentive to my worries, and made sure all my questions were addressed. Pat in X-ray, who I saw on two separate days, was so friendly and upbeat and she remembered when I came back the second time that we were distant Irish cousins so that's a fun coincidence. Jason in MRI scheduling was friendly and helpful, checked my insurance for me and scored me an evening MRI spot so I wouldn't miss work. Michelle the PA squeezed me in for a last-minute pre-op visit then took loads of time with me and made sure all my concerns were addressed, even called to check on me the night prior. Front desk clerks were friendly too. Great experience! I highly recommend Dr. Chudik for orthopedic surgery!

The nurse? who took me back was very kind and when she was finished, the wait for the doctor was not long at all. Dr. Andrew Kim was kind, patient, answered all my questions and could not have been more reassuring. He took as much time as necessary and at no time did I feel he was rushing to see his next patient. If you are in need of an orthopedic surgeon, this is the man. He specializes in joint replacement. I was able to get an appointment within a week, not bad for a new patient. Exam rooms were clean and spacious.

Very unproductive visit, so after 3 years of co-pays I am seeking a 2nd opinion elsewhere.
