I came to this location twice. Once with two torn rotator cuffs and now with my arthritic knees. The therapists are professional, personable and they get results. My shoulder now works without surgery and I walk much freer and with less pain. Pretty good for 73! read more

Athletico in Bolingbrook is the most amazing company! Both my husband and I have been clients here. I, myself, have had many physical issues to overcome so I've been a long time client. My Therapist, Jennifer Dotter, has been a Godsend for me. I have made tremendous strides due to her amazing skills to understand my issues, design a plan specific for me, explain the exercises and what we are accomplishing. She has pushed me to succeed by being my biggest cheerleader! She has given me best place prices for purchasing duplicate equipment for me to use at home. The entire office is professional and friendly, including the front office staff as you enter. They call you by your first name, they remember you, and they make you feel as if your home. The TL;DR is this is a wonderful facility with extremely knowledgable and friendly staff. David was my PT, but you could not go wrong with any other PT at this location. This'll be half a review of this Athletico location and half a testament to how great physical therapy is in general. I used to be (irrationally) reluctant to start Physical Therapy. Here's how that's changed. I err on the side of "freak out unless it's perfect" for everything in my life; health, work projects, my dog's bowel movements, does my niece like me (she's 3). So imagine my dismay when my back wasn't healing a month after my IKEA Furniture Assembly Marathon 2019, presented by White Claw. "Will I ever deadlift again?" "Can I go hiking?" "Will this impact my overall strength?" These questions and more raced through my mind. My first meeting was with David; a truly fantastic guy who *really* knows his stuff. He explained to me likely causes for why I was feeling this poorly and what we (yes, 'we', as it really felt like we were a united front against the forces of lower back pain) could do to fix it. No one really talks about the impact being out of commission has on your mental health. What was great about David, and this Athletico location in general, was that all those worries about, "Will I ever move again, pain-free," just washed away whenever I was there. Maybe it was the friendly staff that made me forget, or perhaps it was the distraction of the unrelenting physical exertion that was needed to perform some of the more intense core-strengthening exercises. Either way, I felt at ease knowing one day I would get better. And today I am! It didn't happen overnight. And there was a point where we needed to extend my 'script after treating my body like garbage on a vacation where I was sitting for 50% of the day and then carrying a backpack around for 50% of the day, but I persevered! I even had *measurable* proof that I did improve. As a lover of all things science, that's just about all I can ask for. Some last few notes on David: he'll always take your email, even if it's a string of incoherent sentences catastrophizing a minor pain you had for the briefest of moments in a car ride 3 days ago. He'll always listen to you and adjust his approach depending on how you're feeling that day. And lastly, no matter how easy you think an exercise is, he can always, *always* make it more difficult. If you're in pain, give PT a try. You'll be glad you did. read more

I've had two knee replacements and had to use a different physical therapy provider for each knee as the first one closed due to COVID-19. They were both very good, but my new insurance caused me to change again for an unrelated knee injury. A therapist from the second provider recommended Athletico in Bolingbrook. I sent a request for an appointment through Athletico's website and a therapist from the Bolingbrook location called me in less than an hour. We discussed my needs and scheduled an assessment session, and five additional sessions during the call. Their prompt action and follow through gave me a great first impression. When I arrived for my assessment, they were very friendly and organized. The facility was clean and spacious, with plenty of machines and equipment. It took me about 10-15 minutes to complete their new patient forms, some electronic and some paper. This is one area they could improve by making this available to be filled online before the appointment. I met with the therapist that had called me, completed the initial assessment, and started the therapy. She did a great job of explaining what we would do to address my problem, answered my questions, and discussed any concerns I had. She was knowledgeable and professional, with a friendly, welcoming demeanor that got me focused on my therapy vs being in a new facility with people I didn't know. I worked with other therapists and staff members at Athletico Bolingbrook, and found them to be equally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. My issue could not be resolved by physical therapy and required surgery. After the surgery, I needed to immediately start physical therapy every day for two weeks. Without hesitation, I contacted Athletico Bolingbrook and scheduled my sessions. Everyone has been very encouraging and I'm making great progress. I have had need for physical therapy services twice in the last year / one for fingers and hand and one for foot and ankle. The center is clean and well equipped. The therapy staff is friendly, professional and qualified. The reception staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If there is one minor drawback it is that therapists are assigned upon occasion to several clients at the same time. However, they do their best to accommodate appointment changes requested by their clients so it balances out. Each time I am a client I have successful results. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Athletico! I was there for seven weeks, twice a week and I had what I can only describe as amazing improvement. I had had extensive surgery on my back and neck and six months after surgery both pain and and strength was still an issue. I had 3 different therapists who were always professional and concerned about my improvement. By the end of my therapy the pain had disappeared and my strength had remarkably improved. If I ever need PT again, I will only go to Athletico. read more

I have been going here for almost a year now and seeing Judy their OT for a extensive wrist injury followed by a finger issue on the same hand. Judy is wonderful to work with, very knowledgeable and accommodating. The rest of the staff is also very pleasant and helpful with any of your needs. Don't go to Athletico facilities, their charges are ridiculous, and I have decent insurance!! I've done therapy before at another facility, and 6 months of it, 3 times a week for 2 hours totaled was at least 10 times less than it would have been continuing here. After finding out there were 2 charges adding up over $400 for one visit (which I will still have to pay $200 out of pocket for), I contacted them. Maggie, their billing person, first told me the one charge was for the therapist, the second for the facility (the highest cost). After sending the letter she requested disputing the charges of the facility, which she sent to management, she comes back saying it is a therapist charge for the evaluation and a unit of exercise charge, for every 15 minutes. It would have been nice to have clear information to begin with (and she acted like insurance had given me the information about the facility charge when it came from her upon first going over charges). Not only was their calculation of time doing exercises wrong (a good 35 minutes was the therapist gingerly looking at my injury and typing into her computer, maybe 20 minutes of exercises), but their exercises consisted of me moving my foot up and down against a wall in various formats for my foot injury, and her talking with her colleagues while she had a timer to do the work. I used none of their equipment, I was not given an exercise sheet to take home, no stretching equipment, basically I could have just easily done them at my home from a sheet of paper. I was also told when going in this was the initial evaluation, which the beginning exercises would be a part of, not a second high cost for a longer time frame than I even did them for. At my other therapy they did things such as cortisone therapy, used ultrasound machines, the therapists stretching out the injury, exercises machines targeted at the injury and gave me lots of stretching equipment and braces to use at home (many of these done in the initial visit of 2 hours). Their charges were normal, Athletico's are trumped up. This was just one visit, I can't imagine going there for routine therapy. Beware you will pay a substantial amount for little result!! read more

I give Athletico a thumbs up. My PT Amy was great. She really understood my needs and what it was going to take to get me better. One on one therapy and never felt slighted. When I first started had a really bad limp from and injury and now I am so much better. Took alot of hard work but She worked very hard to get me to where I am today. My family and I have had fantastic treatment at this location. I have been to three other PT companies and the therapists at this location have been the best. Jen is the most knowledgeable and dedicated therapist I have seen. They treated my son after ACL surgery and he was back on the field in about 6 months. We often go for a complementary screening when an issue arises before going to the doctor. They will let you know if you need to see a doctor. This has saved me time and money.
