The therapist (ATI) recommended by Hinsdale Orthopedics was totally incompetent but I was JUST getting my range of motion back and the MUA caused swelling putting me back to square one. Had he not done that, I would've gotten my ROM back. Insurance dropped me because I "wasn't making progress". When I mentioned I was very concerned about my upcoming trip and how I would manage, he had great suggestions on how I could continue with my icing/heating routines and could use an ankle brace to ease off the pressure. I was a little skeptical if the brace would work as it appeared a flimsy device. I was wrong and that was the miracle - the usual pain after walking and being on feet all day was totally minimized, every morning I could put my foot down without limping and I had no problems on my trip. Thanks to Brad for being a caring therapist. Appreciate it.

Fantastic surgeon and medical staff, apparently weak front desk/administrative support. Had…read moreshoulder surgery July 17--very painful break and recovery. Ran out of Rx meds twice so far, once before surgery and once after. Both times we were promised a call-back in response to our request. Both times the office closing time came and went without the assured callback. And both times we were left to guess what to take when the prescribed med ran out prematurely. There were also issues with having to wait for insurance approval for a CT scan (then being told a day later that no approval was required), as well as with timely scheduling of office visits and tests. Both of these seem more like front desk issues, though I could be wrong. Again, the doctor, PA, and nurses all appear to be knowledgeable and compassionate, but there is some sort of administrative component that fails consistently and fails badly.

When I first called to make an appointment, I specifically asked if I would incur any out-of-pocket expenses. I was told no and that I had met my deductible after my insurance was run. I was aware that I have coinsurance, but I have never received a coinsurance bill for chiropractors or other physical therapists. 2. When I attended, the physical therapists were double-booked. Generally there was one therapist per about 3-4 patients. I have been an athlete my entire life so physical therapy is not new to me. This is the first time I have been compelled to get my phone out and play games waiting for the PT to complete working with another patient. 3. I received an itemized bill that has different prices for THE SAME billing code. I called to clarify how I had an outstanding balance given that I was told I would not have to pay anything out of pocket. I also asked why THE SAME billing code has different prices. I was told a manager would call me back. They never did. Rather, I received another letter threatening to send me to collections. I called again today and I was told that whoever was supposed to call me back "did not see a reason to." Clearly they care about money more than their patients. The physical therapists are fine professionals, but whoever is running the admin, billing, and operations should be fired. There are physical therapy clinics on every corner in Illinois. Next time I will go elsewhere.
