My husband and I recently moved from Bucks County to Philadelphia. James and his moving crew made what could've been a nightmare (no elevator in either building, humid/hot day, etc.) into a relatively easy process. As I was shopping around for quotes, James was always quick to respond--either via Yelp or text. Compared to other moving companies in the area, I found that Athletez Who Move has incredibly affordable rates. They were also flexible in booking the day and time of our move. On moving day, our two movers were incredibly friendly, professional, and hardworking--did I mention there were three flights of stairs and no elevator in both buildings? They handled all of our fragile items and furniture with great care. I was also pleasantly surprised by how fast it all went. Before I knew it, the truck was loaded and we were on our way to Philadelphia. Another nice touch was that the owner, James, checked in with me a few times during the day to see how things were going. Bottom line: Great customer service and affordable. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This man is a scam!!! He bugged me for a deposit and then never showed up to move me. Don't send him money through cash app because you won't be able to get your money back!!! I sent this guy a refund request to get my money and the guy had the nerve to decline the refund! DO NOT USE THIS MAN!!!!!!! read more

Athletez Who Move - Movers Near Me

Do not use I wish I would've read these reviews before I hired James Rosseau to move me. I had a TERRIBLE experience. He was supposed to come Friday morning at 11am. 11:40 rolls around and no word from him. So my boyfriend and I try calling him and messaging him. Nothing. 4 hours go by and we get a long text message about how he was rear ended and in the hospital... so we say we're sorry to hear that but can you please send our money back as we hired you to complete a moving service and you didn't do it. (We had to hire a whole other moving crew last minute which wasn't cheap) He says he's going to... a full day goes by and still nothing. So finally we get tired of dealing with him and threaten to file a magistrate against him since we have proof that he didn't show up along with messages from other people saying the same thing. So then he blocks my number and blocks me on social media. Finally 2 days later he pays us back from some random girls cash app account (I'm hoping she knows he used it) and asks for me to take my reviews down off facebook. Instead I decided to write another one on here lol. Because of him I have no access to my money since I had to shut my debit card off to make sure he didn't get my $200. Don't use him! He'll rob you if you give him a chance Please see James reply below.. if you can't use the correct form of "you're" I can't take you seriously. My boyfriend can't stand you, you ruined our entire weekend and set us back money wise. You were doing another moving job Saturday so bruh how bad were you hurt Friday lmao. You took my money and blocked me. Period. That just proves you're a thief. Stop putting on an act for your Yelp account and man up. read more

Athletez Who Move - Movers Near Me

Did not show up. And beyond that, was in contact with them up to the night before with them assuring me they'd be coming at our scheduled time (scheduled more than a week before). Then, the day of, there's no texts, no calls being returned, and by then it's too late to schedule someone else so we were totally screwed up. I've really never experienced anything like this, not only a broken appointment, but them arranging it in such a way that I was totally without any other option. There's a ton of other options in the area, I wouldn't risk it with these guys. read more

Here is an update... still not taking ownership of what they did and they still haven't offered to repair my home or compensate me for the cost of having to rent the truck another day and pay $200+tip for new movers. Quality people.... Added another photo of our latest conversation. You should be ashamed of yourself. You have no idea the added stress you put on me. And I asked you multiple times to just be honest and let me know if you weren't finishing the job. In response to James reply below... we NEVER at any time canceled. He blocked our numbers and did not send us a text until 11:30 pm saying he was under ground. As for his remark about my integrity and motive. You can see I only go on yelp for positive reviews. I have written over twenty. This is my very first negative experience that I have posted about. I just strongly feel (and am supported by other customers and their own similar experiences) that no one should trust these people. Also James had never once contacted me to make anything right. So that is a complete lie again from James. read more

Worst business I've ever dealt with. James and his crew are extremely unprofessional. Too frustrated to write in detail his screw ups but long story short, we agreed upon a time and date, he didn't show up, rescheduled, didn't show up, rescheduled, didn't show up and now I'm waiting for new movers to come and help me while he is out playing his "semi-pro" football game. During the entire time, his communication was pathetic. I've had better conversations with a new born baby than I did with James. This business should not be listed on yelp or anywhere for that matter. read more

Not sure what is going on with this company, but they seem to have overextended themselves and are risking their business to squeek out a few extra bucks. We hired them on a Wednesday for a Saturday move. We knew we might have trouble finding last minute movers, but the owner assured us that he could do Saturday at the time we requested. He asked me to put down a deposit which i did promptly to hold him. I message him the night before and he confirms that we are on for the requested date and time. Saturday rolls along and we don't hear from them at the requested time. I call and text a few times, they said they would have to push back the moving time. Finally, in the late afternoon (after having the appointment already pushed back twice) I call them and ask them if they can still come, and they replied they could make it at 8 that night. I told them this is too late and we reschedule for the next day (Sunday). Sunday rolls around, and they still have not shown up that morning. I text/call and finally get a response that they could come that night. Not wanting to risk another no show, I start searching for other movers to replace them. Thank god I found SULTANS OF SCHLEP (check out my review for them - they are total pros), who were able to send out 2 guys within the hour to help with my move (at a cheaper rate too). I tell the owner, and he apologizes and offers to refund me my deposit. A few days later, I follow up again, and he says he will refund that day. A month later, still no refund. Then start having my calls blocked like other reviewers. I really don't know why these guys overbook all their appointments. This is not an airline where some people might cancel and then the people on standby get seats. People need movers on specific dates and specific times, or they risk paying extra on their moving truck, pod, etc. Totally unprofessional, and dishonest. If you know a move is going to take 2 hours, and you work at 8 hour day, you logically have time for 4 moves (not even counting travel). Stop overbooking, get it together. YOU ARE STRESSING PEOPLE OUT. Don't risk your move on these guys. I lucked out finding other movers last minute, but I know others may not be so lucky. read more

Short review: Nope. Don't use this company. Read the reviews and believe them. Longer review: Grab a snack cuz this will take some time. I should mention, this review is not for the moving, because we canceled it. Rather this is about his professionalism after that. (I spoke to a couple of other people on here as well who said they had also hired this company but James and his crew apparently never showed up-- so thank God we canceled ours). As I canceled the job via email on Aug 11th, I also asked James to refund my deposit and he emailed back saying he'll do it. I emailed him again on Monday Aug 20th to check the refund status since nothing had been refunded to the bank and he tells me he'll do it by Friday. I was like, fine no worries. I sent him another note on Sat Aug 25th asking if he had processed my credit and he's like "Do you have cash app". Even tho by now this was getting extremely idiotic and I knew he was just stalling, I explained to him that yes I do use venmo and gave him my venmo info, only to get no refund. In addition he disappeared for another day, emailing me back the next day saying he has to figure out how to use Venmo and will call me. This whole "I'll call you" and then disappearing with various excuses went on till Aug 28th, during which I explained to him step by step how Venmo works with him saying "will do!" except to not actually do anything at all. He emailed me on Aug 29th saying it was done but it was probably also a lie cuz my bank never received the refund anyway and by then I had already put in a dispute through my credit card. I should have read these reviews before going with this mover! I had several of my items damaged, the wall at the top of the stairs of the 2nd and 3rd floor, and my new hard wood floors on the 3rd floor. I was quoted $350 to repair the wall and floor. I had to get the uhaul myself and even after an agreed price James insisted he has to raise the price after all my stuff was loaded in the truck, which ended up driving up the cost to move by an additional $250. He was recommended by someone, who I thought was a friend, but the whole experience and stress was not worth what was going to be an initial saving of $82! It ended up costing me significantly more in the long run, especially when you factor in the damage, gas charge, ez pass, etc. I should of gone with a different company that could insure my belongings, kept their word on a quote, and who wouldn't damage anything. I didn't look at reviews until recently when I was accused of taking advantage by not sending James even more money a month later, AFTER I didn't complain about being taken advantage of and being left with damaged property. Lesson learned! I had to reach out to 3 others who I originally referred him to, to avoid any backlash esp after seeing the many negative reviews online. read more

Athletez Who Move - A reputable company warned against the bait and switch James pulled, but I went against my gut. Lesson learned. - Movers Near Me

I hired them, then couldn't get a hold of them. The cell phone number they provided doesn't accept voice calls. I think that's a bad sign. Moving is stressful enough. Don't use this "business". read more

Warning Warning Warning. Under NO Circumstances should this moving outfit be used. They damaged our home significantly and without care. We stopped the first crew from continuing And called the owner to request a second crew. The owner, James apologized and stated he would supervise the second crew later that evening. No second crew arrived and the owner blocked our incoming calls and kept our deposit. We now have a U haul Truck unable to be unloaded at 10pm despite his assurances. This organization is unethical. I cannot understate how this mover will lie and steal. Do not be duped as we we. And on top of it all, he kept our $100 deposit. The man is a CRIMINAL! Our deposit was never returned! His number blocks incoming calls!!! That should tell you all you need to know. I spoke with James and told him specifically what is needed to make this right. He said he would. And we still have yet to have this corrected. Once again we made a promise to correct and failed to be a man of his wo read more

Moving just may be the most stressful time in a person's life. Having done it twice in the span of a year, I've had to experience the highs and lows of moving. Fortunately, I found Athletez Who Move to take the stress right out of the process. James (the owner) is a straight up "good guy." The kind of guy who you would trust with your most cherished posessions. After shopping around and speaking with several different movers. James gave me the best price, and was the most flexible and helpful recommending the number of movers that would be most appropriate for my move -- which, btw was from the shore, to my home AND to a storage unit. The guys were careful, fast and courteous. He was willing to work within my schedule and his communication was great! All calls were returned and all questions were answered immediately I would highly recommend calling James and Athletez Who Move for your next move. I know that I would. read more

Great guys!! Very patient and went the extra mile. I'll sing their praises forever!!

All the negative reviews are so spot on. James convinced me otherwise and boy was I wrong to trust him. His team never arrived. Left me stranded. And kept my $100 deposit. read more

I had a great experience! Communication with James to schedule the move was easy. Yusef and his team were early, polite, funny, and efficient. While the volume of stuff moved was on the smaller size, it still included some very heavy pieces and at least one piece had a difficult time getting through the tight turn on the staircase. They handled everything with care and caution. It was a pleasure working with them. read more

James and his partner did a great job moving my stuff! They were efficient and friendly and didn't damage anything. The reason I can't give them 5 stars is that they did show up several hours after the time they were scheduled to come read more

When I realized that I would not be able to move all of my belongings myself I turned to Home Advisor and Yelp to look for local movers. I came across Althletz Who on Move and a few others and James was the 3rd to reply. I was very surprised to get any replies at all since it was later in the evening when I started reaching out. James replied within 15 mins of my initial contact. We agreed on a price and a start time. When he arrived without a regular van or a partner I was very skeptical. I had alot of items that needed to be moved. When I opened the door and saw James, I said, oh,.. you are truly an athlete. I knew he wouldn't have any trouble lifting items but I was concerned with the size of his jeep. Let me tell you how wrong I was., This young man went right to work slinging multiple bags over his shoulders and going up and down 3 flights of stairs back and forth to the car. He packed his car with such order that he was able to get 14 - 30 gal contractor bags full of items. He lifted up a 60 inch TV carrying it HORIZONTALLY as it should be carried all by himself. I was amazed. We did have to make 2 trips to my home but that was due to the fact that his partner never showed. I felt bad an I assisted where I could and put some items in my car. But believe me I didn't mine at all. I was grateful for the assistance. James also carried 3 very heavy, large area rugs fm my garage and into their respective rooms for me.And a water cooler. He worked non-stop and never complained, He was polite, courteous and respectful. This was refreshing to see. I will be hiring James for a clean out of my basement in the coming weeks. read more

Great people. They helped me out when other moving company dropped the ball and refused to move my Treadmill. I contacted Athletez Who Move and they responded quickly. Owner called me himself and I explained the situation and what stuff i needed to move in my new house. They moved stuff timely manner and neatly. Boxes were secured and no damage. Thank you. Just finished my move with James and Rich and it went without a hitch! They worked very quickly wrapping and unwrapping my furniture, and both were really nice guys. James was very professional and easy to deal with re: logistics. To top it off, they were one of the more inexpensive movers I came across, especially on a pretty busy moving day. Will use them again as I am moving again in the near future. read more
