There's a good stock here: suits, sweaters, pants, coats, casual and dressy, and pretty good discounts on almost everything we looked at. The tore is clean and roomy, lots of free parking outside, and overall ours was a very good experience. This duplicated a visit here last year when we were helped quickly with a return. Don't think I've ever left with an empty buggy. Today I was looking for some frames and/or shadow boxes. No boxes, other than some really big ones that were nice, but far too large for my purposes. Got a couple nice frames. One from the clearance aisle. Managed to get out for under $20. I think that's a first for me. ;) The store was clean and well organized. Couple of associates on the floor pretty much ignored me. I wasn't looking for help, though an acknowledgement would have been good customer service, but the cashier was very friendly. There had been a bit of a lineup at checkout. They quickly brought another staff member up to help out. Good response so people aren't waiting longer than necessary.

I think the owner relinquished the store to her daughter last year, as I was shopping with a friend when they served wine and cheese to their customers in celebration of the event. I've only been in once (it felt a tiny bit different under the mgmt of the daughter) to check it out, but plan to stop in very soon. If you need something a bit upscale and special to wear to an event, or just feel like treating yourself, this is the place. They also have fun odds and ends like hair sticks and barrettes, scarves, socks, xmas ornaments, cards, stocking stuffers, candles, etc. in a small but comfortable shop with excellent , relaxing music that somehow makes it feel almost like a friend's living room. They also have a nice little jewelry case with mostly silver, but many things to pamper your senses.

Oh, go to the LL Bean outlet and buy another carry on sized bag to check (no joke, this is the 5th time I have done this). I Yelped to find this location that I do not remember seeing before. Since I was in Portsmouth already, I decided to investigate. I am so glad I did. I was able to find another bag. While there I found a few gifts for the upcoming holidays along with one kick ass soft sweater *on sale* that I am living in now that it is cooler. The staff here were extremely helpful for finding that sweater.. and did I mention it was on sale? This was a true 5 star shopping experience. When I return to the area in February, I will definitely return!

They are relaxed and have a 'no-pressure' attitude, while still being attentive. I've been buying most of my ski equipment from them for years - they know the product they are selling and their recommendations are usually spot on. A few examples: My foot shape was better suited for a brand of ski boot they did not carry and they suggested I go and try those out before I made a purchase from them. (By the way, I do wish they carried LANGE) I was guided away from an expensive pair of ski gloves because there was a better and lower cost option for my hand shape. The golf club selection is great and there is a driving range (both indoor and outdoor) and a putting green right on the premises to test out any of the clubs. They also re-grip golf clubs on site and have dozens of examples to choose from. I'm mystified how people can leave bad review because they had one experience when a store was crowded and they had to wait more than ten minutes to get help. Go in and experience professional customer service and great product knowledge!

Well the good news I know my size so this will go quick. As I haven't shopped in awhile and live in the land that Summer is essentially year round I obviously spent a little more time finding what I needed. Found a nice dress for my Mom. Classic lightweight denim with two pockets on the front she will love. Now for me a great white blouse with puffy sleeves I love it as I had seen it in their catalog earlier this year. A classic pair of khaki lightweight pants and a green and white gingham skirt. Also I got a lavender necklace that was drastically reduced. When I got to the register I was sad to see not too much in the way of sales. Also the clerk was not to willing to give up the discount card that you get after you purchase. It needs to get stamped now two more times to get 20 percent off. Geez J Crew what happened to you I gotta really work to get a break here.

She was rude, short, and seemed to be annoyed with my presence. I then decided to shop around the store and asked another employee if she could look for a pair of shoes in my size out back and after about 10 minutes I started looking around for her and found that she was talking with friends/off the clock employees. And to top it off the store was messy and dirty. The amount of dust bunnies on the floor was repulsive. Obviously the staff does not care about any type of professional appearance. I love J. Crew but that store needs to be gutted and restaffed with people who actually care about customers, their time, and their money.
