I had the body contouring done here on my upper abdomin, sides & love handles a few years ago. I had previously had lipo and tummy tuck done elsewhere and just needed a little touch up after having another child. First and foremost, the procedure was unbearable. I laid there crying and unable to move. I continuously told the dr that i was in pain, like he instructed me to do, but he didn't offer any solution or help. In first month or so I noticed a SLIGHT difference ( not a $6000 difference, and nowhere near what they said I could expect) but it didn't last at all. At my follow up they suggested buying the velashape to follow up with. I spent ANOTHER $1000 on that, but when I arrived at my next appointment was informed that I can't use the vela shape for the intended (AND SUGGESTED) areas because I have tattoos there. The same tattoos that were there when they suggested I pay for it! So, after $7000 i have absolutely no change. They have redeemed themselves. Everyone was extremely friendly at every visit. The technician Katie was extremely informative and didn't make any of us feel uncomfortable for coming and doing the VelaShape procedures. There were a couple of times I had to bring my little one along and at no point did anyone snuff me that I had brought them with me. Granted they stayed in the lobby with one of my girlfriends but it was nice to know that I could do this for the quick appointments. I definitely saw a difference after my appointments. I signed up for the three Velashape treatment. After 3 weeks and three 15 min procedures I saw no difference, not even I tiny little bit. I was really hoping this would work. I understand that they say you have to do it another 2-3 more times. Unfortunately, it seems strange to purchase a package and realize it does not work . When you mention this to the experts they tell you to do it 3 more times. Well in order to do it another 3 times you have to spend a few more hundred dollars. Kinda felt like a scam. Just lie! So now I know, when booking a consult, lie about your height and weight. I just wanted to have a consult to see what kind of services would be possible, now or in the future, given some of the terrible plastic surgery I've had in the past that I was hoping a well-respected office could talk to me about. To even book the appointment, they wanted height and weight and then told me the only procedure I could "safely" qualify for was gastric balloon to lose weight. While the person on the phone was very sweet, she did not introduce herself as a doctor, nor that I would be consulting with one, but they immediately decided what I could "qualify" for. No medical history taken, no other inquiry what so ever. To flat out not even be willing to book a conversation? Call this a surgical spa, that's what it is. So demeaning, insulting, and also uninformed. Height and weight? Did you ask if I was a body builder? Muscle mass? Wait, you would have had to SEE me to evaluate. But we never got that far. I initially came in for Vela Shape sessions I had purchased as a groupon. I HAD a significant amount of fat in my midsection and even though Vela Shape wasn't going to solve my fat problem, they were all super nice and encouraging telling me what it would help and never once tried to upsell me. In fact I was the one asking all the questions and decided it was time to serve some fact cells an eviction notice. Beginning to end was a great experience from meeting with Elle to being wheeled out. As soon as I made the decision to do it 5 days later I was in for the procedure. They were awesome in communicating with me and making sure I was all set for the big day. Dr. Bullis is awesome, he answered his phone right away when we had a question after I got home that night and called the next day to check in. I am seeing some negative reviews saying it wasn't what they were expecting. You have to remember to set realistic expectations with your surgeon by looking at previous patient procedures with similar body types to understand the expected outcome. You cant have a large volume of fat sucked out and expect to walk out looking like a swimsuit model. They are also going to leave a small layer so your skin doesn't stick to your muscles and look odd. You have to remember you will swell and this will go away. All normal stuff. Wear your compression gear as instructed and you will be good to go! As long as you remember that you are going to be thrilled with the results! when I am ready for my next procedure, I will be coming back. read more

Amazing Surgeon and staff- Dr Dry did a full tummy tuck with an abdominoplasty lipo of the flanks and inner thighs. From the moment I walked in the door for my consult I felt at ease. Everyone that I encountered through my experience was well educated, friendly and they answered ALL my crazy questions and concerns. At my consult with Dr Dry he explained the procedure with me in great detail. I never felt like he was in a rush or that my questions were silly he truly made me feel at ease. I have never had a surgery or been put under with a general anesthetic so I was pretty nervous. Prior to the surgery I went in for a pre-op they gave me all my prescriptions that I would need before and after the surgery. They explained to my husband what he could expect and things that we would need after the surgery. The day of surgery was such a great experience the nurse walked me through the process. Dr Dry came in told me hello and asked if I had any questions or concerns. The nurse put in my IV and she did an absolutely awesome job. After the surgery Benita who was the surgery technician went up and let my husband know how it went and how I was doing. I have always been a skinny little thing growing up but when I hit my thirties, fat started to accumulate on areas of my body that I didn't even know existed. Love handles? Gone! Dr. Bullis did a jaw dropping job when he sculpted mine away, and I've referred several people to him and Athenix (while not admitting to have had any work there myself, of course). I'm no stranger to cosmetic surgery. I've had a breast reduction and tummy tuck (several years post c-section overhang due to cutting into muscles) by another surgeon in the area and he did a great job on those. But, when I decided my love handles needed tweaking, he quoted me $12,000 (which included a discount as I was a returning patient) for a lower body lift. I didn't want a lower body lift. I just wanted my jeans to fit better - I was a size 6! I found Dr. Bullis at Athenix and he agreed - all that was needed was a little help with the love handles. It was very affordable, fast, comfortable, and I was well cared for by all the staff. I'd even go so far as to say it was enjoyable. No scars to speak of, just two tiny spots of discoloration that have faded to nearly invisible six months post procedure. Did I say it was affordable? Best price I found anywhere. Don't be fooled by other cosmetic surgery clinics who pull you in with low teaser rates "per area" - an area with them is a small section of the area you want treated. I'd rather deal with practices with integrity instead of something that amounts to a bait and switch. So, yeah, I'm ecstatic with the results. read more

I had my surgery for micro body sculpting and fat transfer to the buttocks area--one of a small group of folks who didn't have much 'junk in the trunk' previously. I loved the entire experience from the initial consult with Elle, and the list of staff I met during my appointments. The procedure was not painful but I did experience frustration with the body suit (claustrophobic wearing it the first few days) but swelling and bruising went away quickly. Did have Velashape afterwards and it did help with some of the swelling. You have to massage a lot!!! I am very pleased with the staff, the doctor's knowledge, and the sincerity and care of the staff at Athenix. this is my 2nd post for this Clinic.. the first one is from my first Surgery that was done in Belleve , its not good,, they offer to do another surgery, 4 of their Dr's said I need neck lift, the owner offer to do the neck lift but I have to pay the anesthesiologist, well I did pay but never get the neck lift and the owner said I should see another dr. and he will not refund my money... well it does help to know someone... the Dr. who did my 2nd surgery is not licensed at WA State... and I found out more about this Dr's record in State of CA. ..the day of the surgery that they supposed to do the neck lift they changed the procedure 10 mins before the surgery...and then the manager offer to refund $500 then the owner said he will refund my $2500, then he changed his mind, because I reported to DOH WA.. well anyone who have surgery with this Dr. last Dec. 2012 at Athenix . I am so disappointed in my body contouring services from Athenix. I had contouring done to my stomach, sides and breasts and contrary to what they prepared me for - it was the most painful experience of my life. The recovery was longer and far more uncomfortable than they let on. I was sore for weeks and weeks after the procedure. And nearly 3 months later, I have nothing to show for it but a big gaping hole in my checkbook. I haven't dropped a single pound, my bra size is still exactly the same and my waistline still measures the same. And now I just have tiny little scars all over my body. Worst decision. EVER read more
