There's truly nothing better than a yoga class at Sky and taking in that gorgeous view of the lake, no matter the season. I came to Sky 3 years ago petrified that I'd make a total embarrassment of myself as I had never attempted yoga, but they were so helpful and welcoming that I instantly fell in love with yoga, and despite all of the studios around the country I've now frequented, Sky will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart. Their instructors are absolutely amazing; Courtney weaves her passion and love for the business into every thing she does, it's palpable. The community of classmates are always so friendly and warm; it's the closest thing I presently have to my own little community and I always look forward to connecting with them. There's always something new and fresh to look forward to in addition to the perfect weekly schedule which is created to have something for everyone of any skill level. Presently during COVID they have a really great system in place for streaming, special classes and more, though I'll always prefer the in-studio experience (which is open and very clean!) I can't wait until Covid passes and we can go back to the full classes full of love and light, I look forward to the little things they do to make every class special (essential oils, lighting, amazing music). Sky is so incredible that they're worth a special trip to Skaneateles, but especially if you're in the area, on vacation, or on the lake, stop in for a soul-changing experience!

Unfortunately our assisted living person comes Mon & Thurs, the opposite of Laura's schedule. At a loss, I called her anyway to see if she knew of any other yoga studios that might have class on Monday. She was extremely personable, and understanding, and gave me multiple suggestions. I don't know how else to describe it, but she was so present that it felt like she was sitting in the car next to me. I am not a big fan of massages because my previous experience has made them painful. I had the other massage therapist naked karen and she was light with her massages like I asked her to be. I never felt any pain and I told her that I enjoyed one technique that she was doing ... so she repeated it a couple times, which made me feel like I was in charge my massage. both of their massage oils were fully soaked into our skin so afterward our skin was dry and extremely soft Both my husband and I have had massages where afterwards our skin felt oily. After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.
