I bought, at deep discount, a new 'old stock' flute from a music store that had excess inventory. The flute was new but had been sitting in the display window long enough for the price tag to be sun faded. The thing played but some of the keys were a bit pokey. I brought it to ATEC. While we waited, he took the flute apart, straightened a rod here, adjusted the keys there, oiled the springs and generally got the flute all squared away and ready to play. Now the flute is much easier to play and I'm really enjoying it. The fee for this excellent service was more than reasonable. I am very satisfied with his service. read more

One of the valves on my grandson's trumpet was stuck. His band leader gave me the number for ATEC for the repair. I called them the next morning and was told to bring it right in. I have used their service for two generations of kids and grandkids. Oddly enough they had expertly maintained the same instruments, a trumpet and a saxophone from 1991 thru 2017. The granddaughters have been alotless taxing on the instruments than their fathers. However, every year we take the instruments in or repair or a tune-up. The owners have always offered sage advice and low cost repairs. There have been occasions when the charges were do low I worried about them staying in business for my next round of repairs. I had two of my flutes overhauled at another MD repair center. Both came back with the low C note hard to play. As I had only been playing a year I thought it was me. Then I bought a 50$ student flute on eBay and the C note sounded fine. I took one of the flutes to Atec and they had it repaired in less than a week at a very reasonable price. I will be taking my other flute there next week. Atec is the best in my book. Their hours are 9-5, M-F but taking a few hours off work to have a flute sing is worth it. HIGHLY recommend. read more
