I feel as though I am the victim of deceptive pricing tactics by Atchinson Ford's Quick Lane in Belleville, MI. I reached out to Atchinson Ford for a price quote for a brake job on my truck and was given a price quote of $389. When the work was done and it was time to pay the bill, amount due was $1,131. After talking with the shop manager he was only able to reduce the price by $164. I reached out to the upper management and owner of the dealership to see what they could do for me. I even offered to pay 20% over the original price quote, but my offer was declined. After emailing back and forth for a week the best they would do was reduce the bill another $200. The total bill after price reductions is $767.00. Over $300 over the original price quote. In a phone conversation with Atchinson Ford's Parts and Service Director I was told that this is the best that Atchinson Ford would do and said that this $200 refund was to show "good will" to me. When I told him I was still unhappy with this he told me that he would "take the offer off the table if I were to bad mouth the dealership." Atchinson Ford currently runs a tv commercial where the dealer owner Craig Atchinson says: "I love the lake. I love the people. I love this town." This is a funny way for a dealer that expresses commitment to the people and this town, yet won't stand behind a price quote. Car was towed here after stalling out. They said they were booked with appointments for a week out, but would "get to it as soon as they could". They checked it out that night, quick/easy repair, and called me first thing next morning to pick up. Charged me only the diagnostic fee. Also helped me rent a car for a cheaper price while they had my vehicle. Highly recommend! Will be back. read more

He kept me updated, on everything that was going on, went through multiple hoops for me, to make sure I got what I wanted and more. I couldn't think of anyone better to buy a car through. I saw a 2010 E150 van that I was interested in (Autotrader). I filled out the section that outlines my interest. Less than 5 minutes later a sales person from Atchinson Ford calls me. I said that I'm interested and that I was currently out of town. We set Wednesday, 7/19/17 as the date we will meet. I said I can be there at 4pm. The sales person requested 4:15pm. We agreed to meet at 4:15pm. Saturday, 7/15/17, 1:28pm, Atchinson Ford sends text confirming our appointment. Wednesday, 7/19/17, 9:08am, Atchinson sales person calls me to confirm our appointment at 4:15pm. I traveled the 30min to the dealership and arrives at 4:10pm. I walk into the preowned auto office and speaks to the sales person sitting to my right. He acknowledges my interest and immediately says the van has been available for two days and now "...there's a deposit to hold it.." I was taken back and asked that he repeat what he said. He did. I ask why didn't anyone just contact me? He stated that I may have been dealing with "Johnathan" and he may not have known the van was sold... But he stated that he will confirm the "deposit hold" and for me to still go see the van... I went to look at the van and about 5 minutes later the sales person arrives and says the van was sold. I asked him the same question..."Why didn't someone at least call to let me know..." I would have avoided traveling all the way to Bellville after a long day at work and still suffering from Jetlag after spending a month inside a Cleveland plant. He stated, "...just call tomorrow and see if the van is still available... weirder things has happened.. you never know..." I responded, "what if I just give you my number and you contact me...". He agreed and I left. Three things I got out of that experience... 1) If what the sales person said is true and the van was sold and is no longer available, Atchinson could have at least gave me the courtesy and called me before hand. I could have avoided the hour I took out of my day just to find out it meant absolutely nothing. 2) I got the impression that Atchinson did not want my business. The fact that the sales person encouraged me to call them as opposed of them calling me reinforced my thought that they had no interesest in my business. 3) Why should I revisit Atchinson after that experience? There were a 7hr window from the moment I got the courtesy call to verify our appointment to the time I arrived. There should have been an attempt to communicate with me. I thought I was a potential customer. I didn't get that impression. I may have conceded that the van was sold and inquired about other vehicles or future vans. Now, I just don't believe I would get the respect or courtesy at Athcinson Ford. Maybe I'll get the respect that I deserve elsewhere? read more

Since my previous review was removed and I don't want to cynical about why it disappeared (it could have just been the Yelp filter), I will leave it again. My significant other was shopping for a new SUV as her Ford Explorer was getting old. She found a used Jeep Patriot at Atchinson that was apparently a trade-in at a reasonable price. She went in and spoke to Dave McLean, one of the salesman on staff who let her take it out for a test drive. During the drive she noticed a light clicking noise and upon returning told Mr. McLean about it. After having one of his mechanics take a look at it, he said they found a loose hose that was making the noise and that they had remedied the problem (even showing her the "old" hose). She eventually bought the Jeep, but the clicking noise returned within a day. Taking it to two separate mechanics, they both said the same thing: the transmission needed to be replaced. When I called Mr. McLean at work and told him about the issue, he seemed confused. The Jeep has a CVT (continuously variable transmission) and he was mixed up by the acronym and went to talk to his mechanic to get clarification. Upon returning to me on the phone, he confidently told me that I must be confused because "CVT's are on golf carts, not cars." I understand that he's a salesman and not an automotive engineer so I don't expect him to know the nuances of the each model, especially for a trade-in. But there are only a few possible explanations in my mind: 1) he never actually took the time to talk to a mechanic or 2) The mechanic that he spoke with was grossly incompetent. So the conversation ended with Mr. McLean's solution: he would "graciously" extend our opportunity to buy a warranty on the vehicle for another $3300! Even after purchasing the warranty, he was bold enough to insist that we should get the work done on Atchinson! (For anyone reading this, the warranty - ours, at least - allows the work to be done at any certified mechanic). I get that buying a used car can be a crap shoot and that things are bound to come up that need repairing. But when a customer specifically points out an issue during a test drive and your salesman declares that he had the issue resolved by your own mechanic, only to have that same issue result in a major repair within DAYS of purchase...that seems like some shady business practices that unfortunately makes the good salesman have to work under the same bad stereotype caused by our sales experience at Atchinson. read more

Unprofessional all-around. I saw that they had mustangs listed on their website so I called the dealership. While they were transferring my call to different people, I overheard the staff arguing with each other. When I finally got someone to help me, it took 20 minutes for them to just tell me if they had any mustang available. Then, they backtracked on details, saying the car had a certain feature then saying it didn't. This would normally warrant a 2 or 3-star rating, but the man on the phone called me sweetheart and cupcake. I stated I'm not his sweetheart nor cupcake, and he promptly said "It's ok, we have plenty of other customers who want a mustang." At least we were both on the same page in that I didn't want to buy there! TIP to the management: please improve training on who handles which calls, how to mute the phone, how to search for stock, and how to address customers with respect. read more

These guys were super! I hit a pot hole in my ford focus wagon and apparently the fuel switch shut off. The car died! but I had no idea there was a fuel switch! I had my car towed in and left it there over night. The next day, Cliff reset the fuel switch and called me. They charged me nothing and explained what must have happened. I tried to buy the guy lunch for helping me and he refused my money and said to come back if I ever needed service. I think these guys are honest and professional and I would go there any time! This place is absolutely the worse Ford dealership I have ever been to. The Quick Lube department service technicians are slow, unexperienced, and in my opinion haven't been properly trained. I have taken my vehicle there for service twice and each time they did nothing but try and sell me something new or reference that anything but what I took my car in for was wrong. Buyer Beware.. I'd rather drive 40 miles to Avis Ford were I purchased my vehicle than to let Atchinson Ford repair my vehicle!!! They so cheap they don't even have a car wash to clean your vehicle after it is serviced. Pathetic place. read more

Estill was great both days we were there, very nice and patient. I would buy another vehicle from him. however the 1st day I was there when Estill wasn't on the floor I was completely appalled by the other sales men. after one sales man got off the phone with a customer they were very disrespectful of that customers deceased relative. I couldn't believed that anyone would say stuff so cold hearted, harsh, & disrespectful about anyone especially in front of other customers.. Worst service ever! Over an hour to get an oil change! Really! And the best part. I've also got a 2017 fusion sport, loaded, every option$$$$$. It's been in the shop, not once not twice. But three times in the year I've had it. Electrical issues, and the service department can't figure it out! Talked with the service advisor, Kyle kortier. Not very bright. The car sits out side for a week, I get it back and not even a courtesy car wash. The car is filthy. The service department here is really lousy. He tells me that if I want my car faster, I should find him some better technicians. Is this why my car hasn't been fixed correctly? I had my vehicle serviced at this dealership after Belletire informed me that I needed a brake booster and only the Ford dealership had the tool to repair the booster. Upon taking my vehicle to Atchinson I received a quote of $550 from another dealership. Once Atchinson inspected my vehicle I was told that I in fact needed a brake booster and a brake sensor. I was quoted $585 for the brake booster and $230 for the brake sensor. After asking the service department rep. what is the difference between Atchinson and the other dealership, he could not explain and honored the lower price. Atchinson had my vehicle for an entire day. They did not have a loaner nor was my vehicle repaired that day and nor was I asked if I wanted to rent a car. I took my vehicle in on a Friday and had to go the weekend and Monday without a car. Monday floats around and Atchinson calls and reports that now, a ring has broken on my vehicle and that will be an additional $100. Why wasn't this ring and the brake sensor discover by Belletire? Why didn't Atchinson Ford discover this when they initially inspected my vehicle on Friday? To add insult to injury, they also stated my brakes needed to be bled and that would be an additional cost. Once my vehicle was ready for pick-up I was informed that they did not have to replace the brake sensor because they were able to find the code for it (this was only after questioning whether or not this was in fact true and why each time we receive a call there is something new found and raking up the cost of the repair). At this point I don't believe a word that comes out of these folks mouth. When I got into my vehicle the first thing I noticed was that someone had ripped off my $5.00 coupon from Bed Bath & Beyond (very simple & petty of this person) and they left a screwdriver underneath my pedals. Needless to say, my husband and I will no longer patronized this dealership and to think we were planning on purchasing a vehicle from them in the fall but, not any longer. read more

This review applies to Quicklane service only, not sales or the real service department. I cannot speak for them. I arrived at 4:30 for an oil change. I went to the front counter and filled out new customer information. The clerk asked if I knew the VIN but I did not. I offered to go get it and write it down, but he said no problem, they would do it. Fast forward to 5:50. By this time several people who arrived after I did were serviced and left. Then the person I assume is the manager came in to ask if I had been helped. I said no, and that I had been waiting for almost an hour and a half. He went and got my paperwork, and then claimed that I had only been waiting 30 minutes based on what the paperwork said, namely that my arrival time was 5:17. After I insisted that I got there at 4:30, he said "oh, you are a new customer." Apparently the first guy did not even put my paperwork in the queue until somebody went out at 5:17 and looked up the VIN. Remember, I offered to go look it up myself when I arrived. So the manager did the thing where he offered to make the oil change free. Big Deal. I purchased the 5 years of routine maintenance when I bought the car, so it was going to be free anyway. Now go forward to about 6:15. My car is finally done and sitting in front of the shop. The manager told me to go out and get the car. He did not have me sign the work order or anything. I believe that he was not going to submit the work to Ford for reimbursement because then they would survey me on my "satisfaction" and he wants to avoid that. And I am troubled by this because now I have no paperwork to show that this routine maintenance was done. What do I see in front of the shop? The oil change guy was shooting the sh*t with another customer rather than bringing in my keys. I had to go up and get my keys from him, walking through the reeking cloud of cigarette smoke from the other customer close to the front door - in violation of state laws. So, to summarize... 1) Longest oil change in my life. 2) No paperwork received from the service, hard to prove to Ford that I am keeping compliant with my obligations for the extended service plan. 3) I will have to check with Ford customer service to see whether they submitted this service paperwork to show that the maintenance was done at the required interval. 4) If they did not submit the work for reimbursement, I will have to go to another Ford dealer to get another free oil change within the next couple hundred miles to maintain my extended warranty. 5) I believe the manager was sincere in wanting to be helpful by offering the free oil change. He was not the one that screwed up badly. That was the first clerk who did not put my car in the sequence immediately. read more

The service manager from hell must be Jim Bishop! I called to voice a complaint about notoriously slow oil changes. I will admit that I was pretty frustrated but I have never had a manager at any level treat me this poorly. The way he spoke to me the things he said were terrible. He literally told me that Ford Corporate doesn't sign his check. What caring individual uses that as a reason to justify anything? When I decided that this situation warranted a meeting in person the "manager" screamed and swore at me and put his face within mear inches of mine. He then began pushing me, yes actually putting his hands on me then threatened to call the police on me. Do yourself a favor and just go to one of the other dealerships within 20 minutes of here. If you have a problem here you will find the same thing. That Atchinson Ford doesn't care either verbally like me or you may find out in another way! What can I say about the team at Atchinson Ford. My wife and I don't have the best credit. We were initially denied, but our Sales Person, Mike Schatz, and the finance team went to work for us, made some additional calls, and were able to get my family and I into our first new vehicle in 8 years! When I got the call, I could have reached through the phone and hugged that man. They really went to bat for us with Ford Motor Credit. Top notch people who really care about their customer. Atchinson Ford in Belleville, MI charged my girlfriend $504 to replace the ignition coil and spark plugs and fuel filter on her 2003 Ford Taurus (v6). My girlfriend brought it in for service because it was running rough and had reduced power. The service manager called her and said the problem was a bad ignition coil and it could also use a set of spark plugs. My girlfriend already had a new fuel filter in a box in the car (I was going to put in on this weekend) so she told them to go ahead and put that on too. When she told me the bill I couldn't believe it - $504!!!!!!!!! The charge included $105 to troubleshoot (what did that take - about 2 minutes to plug into the diagnostic port and read the code????) and almost $40 parts costs for the SPARK PLUGS!!!! The $504 charge was just to diagnose a bad coil, and replace the coil, plugs and fuel filter. There was NO other work involved, and no towing, storage, or anything else. Incidentally, they also told her she needed a new air filter. That's a complete lie since I already put a new one in a couple months ago and just checked it last week - still clean and white. Luckily she did not authorize the air filter!!!! If you want to get totally screwed then take your car to Atchinson Ford!!! read more

Bought a Taurus that was advertised as being Certified Pre-owned. Took it to a dealer closer to my house for an issue and the service writer tells me the car is not certified. I emailed my salesman Chris Rogers asking him about this and included a copy of their ad. He responded over a week later that the car wasn't a CPO and to send a copy of the ad. Clearly he didn't care about attention to detail or doing the right thing. I would avoid this dealership at all costs! read more

Ironically, I had an appointment today, (July 22nd at 12:45) for the SAME van that Karn had an appointment for on July 19th!! I received an email & a text July 21st to remind me. I drove an hour only to be told by Estill when we walked in the door that the van had LITERALLY JUST SOLD!! Also, my appointment was supposed to be with Brandon Sanders who wasn't even working that day!! I talked to a manager who tried to lie by first saying that it sold the day before. When I told him what Estill said, he said it was probably "delivered" today but sold yesterday. Also, Estill said that when he said that "it literally just sold", he said that he didn't mean today!! This was AFTER he lied & told us & the manager that he didn't say that. When we pointed out that on the board that is hanging in Brandon Sanders' office that lists "sold" cars, by who & the date, that the van wasn't on there, the manager again used that "sold" vs. "delivered" line. I'm not sure why this dealership lied to both Karl & me? Maybe one of the employees is buying it but they're not allowed to until it's been on the lot for a certain number of days, so they lie & say that it was sold? I'm not sure, but it sounds a little shady to me... BEWARE when you make an appointment to see a vehicle here, because you'll probably be wasting your time!! Go to a different car lot. read more
