The mattress pad is so worn out that the strap has broken

I've noticed that several of the top reviews look like the same person. Calling this a two star hotel is generous. The motion sensor lights for the whole room come on automatically in the middle of the night if you get up to go to the bathroom, which disturbs whoever is staying with you. The mattress is wrapped in a zipper cover indicating they've had a problem with bedbugs. I found several black spots in the bed, but I wasn't able to confirm that they were bedbugs. The mattress cover had a hole in it. The drapes don't shut out the light completely and there's a bright light right outside the room. The sheets have numerous stains on them that looked like they should've been able to wash out and I found a long black hair from someone's head, in the bed. I don't have black hair. The pillows are old and lumpy. The air conditioner is ancient and rattles. I didn't bring in my suitcase and made sure to put all of my clothes on a hard surface far away from anything made out of fabric or carpet that might shelter an insect.

0 stars. The man (coward baby) running the front desk called my husband a nigger. We stayed Saturday 8/14 and found fresh blood spots on our sheet when we pulled back the covers. We asked for new sheets and a discounted rate. We did not move rooms because our baby was already sleeping in our room. We were given fresh sheets and told we would receive some sort of compensation. None. Zero. Nothing discounted from our $340 bill for a 12 hour stay at a hole in the wall with blood on the sheets. When my husband called to ask about the discounted rate, the guy claimed that WE stained his disgusting sheets and that they never planned on compensating us for that and then he called my husband a nigger. We took photos of the blood spots that we found when we pulled back the blanket. This is a DIRTY RACIST ESTABLISHMENT.

Okay- I should have done my research before making a reservation here. My bad. Pros: Large room, central location, 30 minutes to Morro Bay, comfortable bed. Cons: Dirty. See pictures. I did not complain nor did I ask for another room. I stayed my three days and spoke with the manager in checking out. He said he would have made changes if I had said something sooner vs at checkout. Maybe. This wasn't the point. I was only trying to share my experience. I asked how long it had been since he had been in the room I stayed in. He said about 10 days. I was trying to have a discussion and never raised my voice. He was clearly agitated with what I had to say. He argued the point that this is the least expensive place around. I actually feel sorry for the guy. He's probably doing the best he can. As I left the outdoor check in out window he began to bang on the window and yell/scream something at me. I couldn't understand what he was saying. He did that until I was in my car!! Seriously?

Pulled back my covers to find this blood on my sheet

I stayed at the atascadero in this past weekend. When I folded my covers back I found blood on the sheets. I given new sheets was told I would get a discount but was charged full price. When I called to ask about it, the gentleman who happened to be running the front desk, Soham Bhakta got confrontational and resorted to calling me a NIGGER and accusing me of damaging things in the room even though he had never mentioned any damages until I called to ask about the bill. I paid 341.00 to get bloody sheets and called a nigger. Great family weekend! https://www.facebook.com/sohambhakta

Zero stars if I could. Took our chances & stayed here with mixed reviews. We lost. Management could care less and made excuses why the room was in poor shape.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! We were charged $20 for hand towels that management INSISTED and INSINUATED that we STOLE! Hand towels were MISSING and because when they were approached stating that we needed "extra" towels, they expected to find 4 towels instead of 2. Sorry for using the wrong word. Simple misunderstanding. But to them, our word against their employees. Seriously, $20? I can find better quality towels for $20!

Absolutley do not stay here. There are other much better choices right down the road. Besides the outrageous price, they dont have any maintenance/housekeeping. Black mold in bathroom, spiders in every corner, carpet wasn't even vacuumed and just an angry man that doesn't want to hear any complaints at the front desk. The receptacles look about 20 years old as my charger falls right out of them. And they still want to charge 100+ a night. Listen there is a lot more much better choices that are not far away, don't make the mistake of staying here and enabling this guy. The towels have holes in them, worn so thin you can see through them. Never thought I'd wish I went to the motel 6! Mike Rodey was the name the man gave me at the desk, which could very possibly be fake. Rip off central. Just drive down the road, find something better. You'll thank me later!

Hotel, motel holiday inn! This a clean older motel, that was worth the stay (cheap) and safe. During checkin they get car lic info, everyone whose staying in the rooms information. The rooms are clean but very outdated! It's worth it, if you need a cheap room before you head further south.

Welcoming sign, I hope we don't have one of those in the room!

We did book this place through Hotwire so we didn't have to pay a deposit, but I don't know if they charge that through the actual hotel itself.

We happily chose this particular Home 2 Suites due to its proximity to all the places we were planning to visit over the weekend. We arrived on a Friday night to check in. This Home 2 Suites is in a nice location off the exit in the beautiful town of Atascadero. There was a Valley Fresh Market which is similar to a Whole Foods was conveniently located across the street. Plenty of free parking is accessible all around the hotel. The hotel lobby looked very nice, clean, and fairly new. There were plenty of tables, chairs, and lounge couches for the breakfast area. I always appreciate the amenities that Home 2 Suites provides. There was a moderate size heated outdoor swimming pool that our kids took advantage of at night. There are 2 outdoor propane fire pits and a pair of outdoor grills that are available for guests. The gym was nice and had just enough equipment to have a good workout. Our room had 2 queens beds, a sofa bed and a mini kitchen. They were very spacious and comfortable. We always appreciate the extra storage space for luggage and the Hilton provided toiletries in the bathroom and showers. My only gripe was our rooms were on the freeway side and so I heard the cars zooming by when I was laying down to sleep. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Home 2 Suites Atascadero. Everyone we came across from the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The front desk staff when we checked in helped us cancel one of our rooms due to family members not making it last minute. We appreciated the kind gesture. The price point was a great value. The complementary breakfast was tasty and unique with breakfast sandwiches as an option. Excellent location. We plan to be back next time we are visiting the area.

Date of stay: April 28, 2026 Time of incident: Approximately…read more8:00 AM Location: Breakfast area, Home2 Suites by Hilton Atascadero I want to share both positive feedback and a concern regarding the breakfast service during my stay. First, I was genuinely impressed to see Hilton offering non‑toxic toiletries, free‑range eggs, and nitrite‑free bacon. As someone who normally travels with my own non‑toxic products, it was refreshing not to have to do that. These healthier options are noticed and appreciated. However, the breakfast service itself fell short of Hilton's standards. When I asked the male staff member with reddish‑brown hair for full‑fat milk and honey for my coffee, he directed me to the coffee station. Unfortunately, the only options available were low‑fat milk and processed tiny plastic creamers, no stevia and both honey bottles were completely empty. I checked again when I returned for a second cup of coffee, assuming the honey would have been refilled by then. It had not. After 45 minutes, both bottles were still empty. I attempted to place one of the empty bottles on the counter behind the serving trays so staff would notice it, but because it was sticky, it stuck to my finger and fell to the floor. A few minutes later, from about 40 feet away, the same staff member loudly called out to me in a chastising tone, holding up the bottle and asking if I had "thrown it behind the counter." I explained that I was trying to get his attention because both honey containers had been empty for nearly an hour, and several guests were waiting for them to be refilled while their breakfasts cooled. Instead of acknowledging the oversight or offering an apology, he continued speaking to me in an accusatory manner. This interaction was unnecessary and unprofessional. Had he been monitoring the breakfast station and replenishing items proactively, none of this would have occurred. Suggestions for improvement: * Ensure breakfast staff regularly check and refill items, especially basics like honey, milk, and cream. * Consider offering organic full‑fat milk, half‑and‑half, or cream, which many guests prefer. * Provide staff training on guest interaction, tone, and proactive service. A simple acknowledgment and quick refill would have resolved the issue immediately. I appreciate Hilton's efforts to elevate the quality of ingredients offered. With more attentive service and better communication from staff, the guest experience would match the quality of the food. Thank you for taking the time to review this feedback.

The owner is very down to earth and friendly. She has a lot of her art and personal touches around the place, both in the guest house and around the yard. And there's a few places that do delivery to the location (one was Chinese and the other a pizza place). She also baked us some Pumpkin Pecan Raisin Cinnamon rolls as well. We couldn't have asked for a better first impression and experience. This is definitely above and beyond anything we expected. On a final note, to help address the concerns in the negative reviews posted here, our host kept in touch with us, via email, the entire time up to our visit.
