Yoomi always spends the first few minutes of the session assessing your body and finding areas that are imbalanced. Throughout our sessions, Yoomi guides me through each exercise and ensures that I am working out in proper form. I'm a beginner myself, so hopefully somebody taking an advanced class and/or private lessons will post something here soon. The place is a renovated garage, thus the name. The narrow railroad space has hardwood floors, good enough lighting, really nice atmosphere, art on the walls, no mirrors, two class areas and a bathroom. Classes are ten for $150 ($130 for beginners). I don't know how well that compares to other pilates places, as I sort of jumped at this one for its location, schedule and that i didn't think it was going to remind me of high school gym class or any of the other unpleasant experiences i've had attempting to "work out". My instructor, Jessica, both totally knows what she's doing (pilates seems to be a course of study, like karate) and knows how to communicate where things are supposed to stretch, what such and such an exercise does, etc. The classes are an hour long. People showing up hipster-late can thus cut off some of your time, which is a drag. But it works.
