This is now my permanent nail salon! I've been coming here for almost two years now after the service at my previous salon declined while prices increased. The service at At Nails is consistently stellar. My mani and pedi always looks fabulous and lasts for weeks. Stephen is still my guy. He is meticulous. He knows that I like my nails short and square, and I don't want cuticles cut, and incorporates that into my manicure without me needing to remind him. Also like that we have a nice greeting and catch up, but never feel the need for obligatory conversation. I consider my manicure and pedi as relaxation time, and for me, that means silence. When Stephen has been out, Don and the woman have done my nails with expert precision and results. The salon itself is bright and light filled, perfect for the massive orchid and Christmas cactus collection, expertly nurtured by Don. I swear, he is a master gardener! A plant whisperer! Don has created living art with moss covered tree trunks with orchids and cactus growing in the nooks and crannies, giving pops of bloom and color. I look forward to see what has bloomed and what is transpiring amongst the plants, as much as I am about getting my nails done! Five star service and experience consistently! read more

I got a builder gel mani with chrome. Tips were added. It was $70. Not worth the price, poorly shaped nails and apex. Haven't returned to this salon in many months because the quality just isn't there and prices are high everywhere so might as well like what I pay for elsewhere. read more

SO HOT inside the building. I had to ask for water because I was sweating so much. The nail polish looked rough. The footrub was mediocre and soft. Pedicure with regular polish was all I went in for. The pricing on the wall actually was the pricing they gave which was nice. I will not return. read more

I went for a pedicure only and was so pleased to see the two men were there who each do very skilled shaping of my toenails. They use a special file to reduce the large prominent calluses on my big toes and heels, and I've never felt any discomfort. They have many nail colors to choose from, and it's a relaxing environment as well! read more

I LOVE AT NAILS!!! They are always so kind, accommodating, and professional. Incredibly sanitary as well. I went in on a week day to get some cute valentines nails (nude dip powder with gel nail polish design), brought them an inspo pic with a few personal tweaks and they went above and beyond. The shape is perfection from a top view and side profile- all angles really. I was supposed to meet my friend there for a pedi after my nails, and while they ran out of time for my pedi (they are super detail oriented and perfectionistic, so they can take a bit longer than you might expect) they did stay 20 minutes past closing to finish up my nails and get my friends pedi done right. Everyone here is great! They got me in quickly with no appointment. I was chatting with the staff and the customers collectively here so it was a social morning and everyone was so kind. My toenails due to working out and shoes and etc needed help and Lily got to work and made them look so nice and fixed a few issues I was self conscious about . The person doing my pedicure was sick and sniffling and wasn't wearing a mask. I felt very uncomfortable because they were sniffling all over me and unable to wipe their nose while doing my nails so their nose was just running and dripping down the whole time.... it was disgusting. At one point it dripped into the water. I couldn't really relax because of that so it was not an enjoyable experience at all. I came to relax but I was uncomfortable the whole time. I asked for a backfill and got a a fill and white tips painted on. I told her I didn't like it and she said oh honey you will love it.... uhhh no i wont. I asked for a backfill!!! Within 2 days my nails looked terrible!!! Chipped, discolored and didn't look like they had just been done. I called and asked for them to be fixed or my money refunded and the lady on the phone argued with me saying that's what I asked for. I have been getting my nails done for 15 years... I know I don't want white painted tips. I am a working mom who is always doing dishes, typing, etc and painted white always looks terrible. I did not get what I asked for and then she would not fix it. I will not be back. read more

My daughter went to get her nails done today and I talked with the main person to negotiate a price. The main person said it would be 50 which we agreed to. After I left in the middle of my daughter getting her nails done the person that was doing her nails said I know I told your mom it was 50.00 but it's 55.00. I won't ever go back and watch out if you do! This has always happened to me there. I have gotten my nails done there and they have changed the price mid appointment. read more

Ended up walking out in the middle of the pedicure bc the tech was preoccupied with watching another tech correct her mistakes on another customer. Uneven filing on nails, cuticles cut poorly, skin jagged, small thickened skin on toes not exfoliated, nails not cleaned out underneath them. Didn't want to continue the poor results. Will not be returning. read more

Tammy was amazing! Aside from having to wait with an appointment. I don't find that uncommon at nail salons so I'm still giving five stars. Tammy was so nice and did an amazing job. I showed her a picture for the shape since I wanted a "coffin" and didn't want it to be confused. The shaping looks better than the photo I showed her! I was so pleased with the end product and the service in general. She then proceeded to tell me (in a very soft spoken voice) that she would gladly take an appointment outside their business hours and has no problem staying until 9pm for a customer or opening early. HOW SWEET IS THAT. I've been looking for a place that does long nails that won't break easily. I found one. read more

The first thing you notice when entering is how nicely appointed the salon is followed by how relaxing the salon is I got a shellac mani and a regular pedi and while I was a little anxious with new people working on my feet and hands, each of the three people who tended to me did a great job The place is kept very clean-which is a thumb's up in my book! I came here with my mom to get our nails done before my wedding. We made an appointment and they were ready and waiting for us when we arrived 5 minutes early. The salon is light, bright, and absolutely spotless clean- no tools or products left out on manicure desks. Tools were sanitized before and after they used them on us (I always make sure to look for that). The two gentlemen who did our nails were very thorough. They helped us choose colors to match our respective dresses and even re-did my mom's toe color (at no extra cost) when we decided that one shade darker would work better. We kept our buffer and file ($1) and were asked to bring it back for the next visit to use again. Prices are pretty typical for a good quality mani/pedi. I was especially impressed by the nail tech's attention to detail. Every tiny piece of nail or cuticle was perfectly trimmed and even after my nails were painted, he went back to fix one spot on my cuticle that was missed. The hand and leg massage is so relaxing, and this was the first time I had a paraffin wax treatment- amazing! Before we left we were asked if we were satisfied and if anything needed touch up. We were very satisfied and we will definitely be back! I should also note that this was my mom's first time ever having a mani/pedi and she said it was a wonderful first experience. read more

This is the most excellent nail spot in SE Portland. The customer service and setting is the cleanest and nicest I have experienced in years. The owner stayed an hour late to do my nails, she was exceptionally friendly and sweet. It's located right across (in the same complex) as 24 hour fitness off Milwaukie. The salon is immaculately clean and smells amazing, "no chemical smell" Tami is the owner and she will do an amazing job on your nails and is probably the nicest woman you'll meet! After months of getting acrylics at another nail salon my nails and the skin beneath my nails was absolutely ruined. I came to At Nails a couple months ago and they took immediate notice, and made a plan with me to bring them back to health. I started off with a regular manicure to let my nails breathe. As any normal nail polish it lasted about a week, but that's to be expected. Since then, I have been getting beautiful Shellac manis every two weeks, and my nails are growing full and strong again, finally gaining some natural length. I am especially impressed with their attention to detail, the cleanliness of their tools and the salon, as well as their friendly demeanor. The owner even stayed and allowed me to book a last minute appointment for an extra hour after closing. I don't plan to leave any time soon! Love this place! read more

They snipped my toe with nail clippers, I patiently got my nails done. I expected them to say, on the house! Or at least a free pedi after my toe heals up. I've never been cut at a nail salon in my entire life. How rude to only offer $5 off the next service! read more

I've been coming to this place for over two years and I haven't gone anywhere else since!! Don and Steven are both very talented and do an amazing job EVERY TIME! Just ask and they will do everything they can to accommodate. They apply 2 base coats and multiple polish coasts every time so your nails stay looking amazing for weeks. Their pricing is fair and comparable to other shops. Always such great company and fun people to be around in general. Best nail shop in Portland, hands down!! read more

I second the previous review of best pedicure in town! Super meticulous and relaxing experience. Due to covid, they take your temp when you enter and have you sign a waiver. All stations have plexiglass. They also have an additional charge of $3 dollars to their base price (for covid) which was pretty reasonable. Woohoo! I go for polish change and the price point is right. The salon is clean and uncluttered; I like the peaceful vibe and they do a wide array of services even though I only do occasional pedicures and more often a polish change which includes cuticle care and filing then a nice polish refresh. read more

Danny and his crew still follow strict COVID-19 cleaning guidelines and sterilization, so I never worry whether I just left a super-spreader environment! I love it when I'm asked, upon arrival, to wash my hands, and follow COVID19 protocol. Frankly, I wish ALL businesses I frequent were still as careful as NEW LIFE. I know most are just itching to move on, but remember everyone, we still have a pandemic on our hands NEW LIFE cares for their clients, and THAT is evident, from the beginning to the end of my appointment. I came to get a nail removal because my nails were starting to lift and hurt, they did remove the…read morenails so the service was done which is the reason for the 2 stars, but they left my nails pretty damaged and weak, only using the drill to take them off in between soaking (and using an acrylic tip to remove one of my nails... which is a big no no in my experience with doing nails) The nail tech also went back and forth between me and a pedicure using the same drill tip , which is a health violation and 100% NOT okay in my book. Won't be coming back and truly think I could have removed my nails better and more safely, just wanted to support a local business and treat myself instead but I am left with really weak nails instead. I recommend dipped in lake Oswego if you want a similar vibe but better cleanliness and healthier nails.

I was a walk in for a pedicure and they got me in right away. The guy doing my nails didn't say a word to me (which I honestly don't mind!) but he didn't even ask me which pedicure I wanted. He ended up doing an express pedicure on me with a very short massage. I was really wanting one of the deluxe massages but I kept thinking he was going to ask and by the time I realized he wasn't it was too late. It's a bummer because honestly my pedicure turned out really nice and I just would've loved more time. read more

A cheese grater does just fine. Sadly, it should go without saying, that even if I were the mysterious Sasquatch from these parts out for her first mani-pedi in *ever*, these women had no business making fun of anyone. I believe we should uplift each other so I'm not going to mention what they looked like. But because I can, I will say they have a lot of chutzpah saying anything about anyone. I've never been a big fan of businesses pointing out their clients' flaws, or just as annoying, asking about their routine and no matter what they say, immediately saying, "oh no, that's all wrong, here buy this " That said, they're My cuticles. I religiously get my nails done so my hands don't look like bricklayer's. I know they're dry, but to have one say "cuticles" (their language) then one say to me, "you know you have thick cuticles!" And in a sneery way. Had I been another sort of person (and my husband wasn't there) there might have been words, or had I been terribly sensitive, I might've left and humiliated. Completely unprofessional. I could go on and say more about the entire pathetic experience, but this is the worst part of it. And of course, I didn't like my nails (neither did my husband) but forgot to take a pictures.
