Called Dr K this morning as our pup had a torn toe nail - about a third of it was sticking straight up and bleeding, and pup was shivering and panting last night in misery. Dr K listened to the description of puppers' injury, and explained that he was not able to take the case because sometimes these require sedation and minor surgery and it's not a home-friendly procedure, which made a lot of sense. He was so helpful - he referred us to someone who could help and we got it taken care of today. Really appreciated the excellent referral to someone who was open today that could help our injured pup. read more

Completely unprofessional. Website, Google page, yelp page - basically all advertising - state that his service area includes Seattle, but he told me on the phone that he won't come to Seattle. He suggested my vet just do a Zoom visit (LOL - how are they supposed to do necessary physical exams over Zoom??). He also said he was in with a patient, so apparently, he will take random calls from unknown numbers during the visit you're paying for while he is supposed to be focused on your pet. No, thanks. read more

"MD K" made this process so compassionate. We were all crying - but felt that Willow did not suffer due to the quiet, calm and capable care that MD Knasiak took. Willow no longer needs to suffer in this world. RIP Willow. read more

The Doctor was very compassionate. We had our big girl Kisses put to rest. He told us she was in very bad shape and that we were doing the right thing. Dr. Knasiak was amazing. You can tell he loves animals and people. Our euthanasia and cremation was 945 dollars from the comfort of our home. read more

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. K for coming to my house on a very short notice and helping my baby cross over to the other side. I held my baby in my arms until his heart stopped. The procedure was very humane. The vet clinic said they wouldn't allow me to be with him during this process if I brought him in, and recommended calling an at-home vet. Dr. K was very sympathetic and understanding. Bless his heart. I didn't even know that at home vet services existed before yesterday. read more

WARNING: Do NOT hire Dr. K unless you want to be traumatized. Three years ago today, I went through one of the most horrendous experiences of my life with Dr. Zenon Knasiak (Dr. "K"), and I am only now able to speak about it. As I write this, tears are streaming down my face, reliving the trauma. I hired Dr. K to come to my home to euthanize my beloved furbaby, Miko. When I opened the door to greet him, Dr. K immediately said, "Where's your dog? We need to make this quick since I couldn't find parking and I'm parked illegally. I don't want to get a ticket." I was shocked and appalled by his insensitivity. I calmly told him that his car would be fine and asked him to show some respect and not rush through this incredibly difficult moment. I led Dr. K to the living room where Miko was resting on the couch. I tried to calm Miko, who had become nervous sensing the tension. After only ten minutes, Dr. K said, "I have another appointment, so let's get this done." I am disgusted by Dr. K's behavior. I never received a proper goodbye to my sweet Miko. My poor furbaby passed away in fear, and this is one of the most traumatizing experiences of my life. All I wanted was a peaceful farewell for my Miko, and Dr. K took that from me. He is the devil. read more

I had to take my cat Sir Boris to see him a couple of years ago. He was great with him and kind to me.

We called Dr. Knasiak for at home euthanasia services pretty last minute. We hated the idea of taking our Ms. Ruby away from our house in her last hours with us at home as a family during the covid-19 pandemic. Other vets required an appointment - most a week advanced. Dr. Knasiak was incredibly flexible with us and when we needed an earlier appointment, he was able to accommodate. Prior and during the procedure, Dr. Knasiak informed us of what to expect and was incredibly compassionate. End of life is absolutely the hardest part of our journey with our furry for legged family. Dr. Knasiak made that hard part much easier. Thank you! read more

Dr K was the perfect blend of gentle, compassionate and informative with the at-home passing of our lab Daphne. She was a treasured family member for 15 years and deserved a kind goodbye. Thank you Dr K, we would recommend you to anyone in our situation. read more

I am grateful to Dr. Knasiak for the excellent care of my cat. He performed a wellness exam for my new pet. Dr. Knasiak is very thorough and informative. He also performs microchipping and vaccinations for the new pets. He did the best job taking care of Cherie and she was really happy interacting with him. He was recommended to me by a friend. Thank you Dr. Knasiak for all you do for the pets and people who love them. read more

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Knasiak for responding so quickly to my request to euthanize my nearly 18-year-old kitty at home. I called him at 6am, left a message, and got a call back before 7 making an appointment for later that day. He was compassionate and gentle with Buddy (and with Buddy's Mom), even calling a couple days later to ask if there was anything more he could do. Thanks Dr. K! I would recommend him in a heartbeat for any veterinary care needed at home. read more

He did not mention on the phone that there would be an additional charge for the cremation. He stated it at our house, after the procedure. We paid it, but pointed out that he did not mention it on the phone. His response was, " Oh, my bad". Like I said, he is good in his profession, but I do not care to have further interactions with people of his character. read more

When my vet wouldn't travel a neighborhood over, Dr. Knasiak provided my baby the care he needed in his final moments. As an 18 year old cat with failing kidneys, he would've had such a difficult time with travel; Dr. K came to where he was comfortable and my partner and I could be with him to say goodbye. Dr. K's kindness and compassion are immediately apparent; so thankful for his practice and support. read more

Having to say goodbye to your beloved furry family member is devastating under any circumstances. When it's unexpected, urgent, and your options are limited in the midst of a pandemic (dropping him off at the vet was just not an option for us), it can be even more stressful. When I realized on Monday morning that we were out of time with our sweet kitty, I began to call in-home euthanasia service providers and was told one after the other that they were fully booked or did not service West Seattle (thanks to the W. Seattle bridge). When I called Dr. K on Monday morning at 9am and explained to him our circumstances, he immediately moved some other appointments so he could be at our house by 1pm. He was kind, compassionate, and respectful to us and our beloved cat Klaus, walking us through the process and patiently answering all our questions. We are so grateful to Dr. K for making what is inherently a difficult experience just a bit more peaceful. Thank you, Dr. K, for your professionalism and humanity. You were just what we needed. read more

My sweet cat has such a hard time leaving the house. When I rescued him about 2 years ago he had IBS - he's so calm and fun at home, but when stressed (a trip to the Vet) it takes almost a month for him to recover. The smoke in the area has given him a sinus infection, so I did a search on a doctor that makes house calls. I found Dr. Knasiak and he is wonderful! He is kind, patient, & extremely knowledge! I didn't pay more than if I would have taken my cat to a doctor & the in-home service my cat & I received was A+. He custom-blended an antibiotic mix and will be writing prescriptions for his food. We've found a new Doctor! I HIGHLY recommend his services!! read more

The best vet ever! Very caring and knowledgeable. I appreciate all the explanation and being honest. Never felt like he is pushing for anything, just gives options. Also helped my dog with allergies, he recognized it immediately and other vet never mentioned. After shot my dog had such a relief (he was allergic to grass). Recently my 14 yo dog passed away and closest vet said he has no opening to help him pass away and maybe he can squeeze us but we can not be there when they put him to sleep. I couldn't believe it. I texted dr Knasiak who was much more far away from me and who called me back quickly after my text and offered to come to us or we could go to his place. He was very compassionate. In the past my dog also had tumors and everything was taking care with much more affordable price than in the regular clinic. I highly recommend this doctor, you can see caring for animals is his passion! read more

Was very good and gentle putting our dog down. There is a very big BUT. On the phone we were very clear that we wanted him to take the body and the quote was $440. After the procedure he packed up our dog and asked for $670, more than a 50% increase. My advice is to record your conversation. He may be a good Vet but he is a better scammer. read more

Super welcoming and attentive. We went to three different clinics for a growth on our dog. Dr.Knasiak came as a recommendation from couple different friend of ours. I will definitely be brining my dog to him in the future! read more

Last week, my husband and I had to make the very difficult decision to put our sweet kitty down. She was very sick from chronic kidney disease, and had been quickly declining in the previous day or two. We knew that we wanted to make the appointment at home, since our kitty really dislikes the vet (although I've not ever known a cat to love it really), and we wanted to make her as comfortable as possible. Our normal vet at Rainier Vet Hospital recommended Dr. Knasiak, and it was a great recommendation. He scheduled a time in the early evening which was nice so we could both spend time with her beforehand. When he arrived, Dr. Knasiak was a calming presence during a very emotional time. He quietly explained the process, and made sure that we were able to be physically close to our sweet pea and say goodbye to her during the process. It was very quick and peaceful, and such a relief to know that she was no longer in any pain. Afterward, he explained our options as far as cremation, and whether we wanted to receive the ashes back or not, etc. And at the end, he was very gentle with her when placing her into the box we had decided to use for her. All in all, Dr. Knasiak was knowledgeable and respectful of the emotional situation in which we needed him. If we ever have a need for another at-home vet (hopefully not anytime soon!), then we will definitely be giving him a call. I highly recommend Dr. Knasiak for your at-home veterinary needs. read more

My family and me particularly would like to thank Dr K. for being compassionate and professional to come to our house next morning after our call. We had a quite emergency situation, because our white Shepherd genetic disease took her too fast, made her completely paralyzed, but a few companies I called were all booked, or some have absolutely unacceptable and no compassionate rules because of Covid. Dr K. responded immediately. I lost a four legged child due veterinary malpractice and negligence just a few years ago, and extremely untruthful of vets now, so maybe not an easy person to deal with. I no longer blindly trust any vet, and always ask many questions to make sure I do not have any bad experience again, to make sure my loved one will not suffer in wrong hands. Ever. Plus, years ago, I had a nightmare experience euthanizing my cat that was a torture like and my cat was suffered horribly for half an hour. So I was very afraid of home euthanasia. I did not want our girl suffer her last moments. Dr K. was very patient with me, explained everything in details, and let our rescued Aspen cross to Rainbow Bridge in very professional way. He was respectful not just to all family members, but also to our poor Aspen, even after she was dead, he was very careful and respectful to her body putting in bag and a car. I definitely recommend Dr. K. Thank you from all of us, and Aspen, who died peacefully without any suffering. PS: after 5 months I had to use this service again for my 17.5 yorkie Jessica. Most important - Dr K came in 2 !!!! hours after my call when I mentioned that my girl showing sign of suffering, and she went to Rainbow Bridge peacefully. read more

LENGTHY, YET PLEASE READ....In late January 2013, my rescued older chihuahua (Thanksgiving 2007) had a very bad seizure. We took our sweet chi to an ER vet, where she was stabilized for two days. We then brought her home overnight, but she just wasn't the same. We stayed awake all night that night (Friday) as she continued to have seizures, then brought her into Rainier Vet first thing Saturday AM (our family has been going to Rainier for over 60 years!) . One of the vets examined her and there wasn't much hope as she mostly likely had a brain tumor and was really no longer with us. I asked if she was in any pain and the vet assured me she wasn't, so I asked if we could bring her home to say our "good byes". The vet had no problem with this (We were so grateful). They sent us home with some meds to help with her seizures overnight and Dr. "K" info. We've known Dr. Zenon Knasiak (Dr. "K") for many years thru Rainier Vet. I've always trusted Dr. K, and always request him to do any surgeries/dental that needs to be done on our pets. In fact he had done at least two dentals on her; one less than a year before. So I called Dr. "K" on Saturday night and he said he would be available on Sunday and to give him a call the next morning. We are SO very grateful that Dr. "K" has "at home" services as we wanted our chi to be comfortable and AT home. I couldn't bear to bring her to some unknown vet, much less being on a stainless steel table as her last memory. (For some darned reason, urgent stuff somehow happens on weekends most of the time...darn it!). Dr. "K"is one of the most kindest, knowledgeable, compassionate, caring, gentle, honest vets I know. When Dr. "K" arrived at our home, he took his time and listened to us, he sat and petted our baby. He explained what might have happened to her as everything happened so suddenly. He then helped our chi go to the "Rainbow Bridge". Just watching him gently put her in a towel and wrap her to take her told me a lot about Dr. "K". Within two weeks time as promised (actually it was less than a week), we had our baby's individual ashes back home with us. As Cynthia stated, "his approach clearly showed respect for her life and my relationship with her. He genuinely cared about me, my dog, and the process of ending her life" is a very true statement. I couldn't say it any better. We will always be grateful to Dr. "K". I know it isn't easy for him either, but extremely thankful in how he does what he does when it's needed. We will continue to see Dr. "K" and hope that him and his overall services will be around for a very long time. We definitely need more vets like him. Know you will NEVER go wrong in calling Dr. "K" for ANY of his services. I can promise you that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart if you are reading this Dr. "K". read more

I just called to ask about making an appointment and when the phone was answered this is how the conversation went: Dr: (silence) Me: Hello? Dr: Yes can I help you? Me: uh, yes. Is this the veterinary office? Dr: Yes this is Dr. K. Me: Oh, Great, I just moved up here with my cat and I am looking for a new vet. I think my cat has congestion and he is having trouble breathing. I wanted to make an office appointment. Dr: Well do you want me to come to you? Me: I didn't know that was an option. How much is that? Dr: That cost $100 base. Plus travel and time costs. Me: Oh, that's a little high; I think I'd rather come in with my cat. Dr: (Indignant) Well if that's too expensive for you then you can go to a different clinic I would say you should go to Newport Hills Medical Facility. Me: Oh do you recommend them? Dr: (Irritated now) No I used to work for them but they've been recently bought out by a large corporation, so if you're OK with that that's where I would go. Me: Oh, all right. Well thank you for your time. Dr: Yes. (Sarcastically) .... I don't know about you but anybody who treats me that shittally is probably not treating my animal very well either. read more

After practically everything we could do to "right" our baby kitty Cosmo, it was clear that his not eating, extreme lethargy, wasting away and intermittent blindness was leading toward the end. He had been in and out of the vet hospital for the last few weeks. The last thing we wanted to do was put him in the carrier, take him for another ride to a brightly lit office and say goodbye. Early Sunday morning we had to make the painful decision to say goodbye. I found Dr. K online and called him. He answered and let us know he was available and would be there a couple of hours later. I have to say that making this decision was not easy, but once Dr. K arrived he confirmed our beliefs, let us say goodbye to our sweet 11 week old boy and quietly administered treatment. It means a lot that we could have someone come to our house and service us in this time of need. He was compassionate, knowledgeable and understanding.
