My mother purchased an iPhone November 2019 during a promotion where a customer could get an iPhone free if an extra line was added. Jameka Smith was the employee who helped us. My mother was told she would be charged $20 for the first 3 months, but the money will be given back. My mother's account continued to be charged past 3 months. My mother contacted customer service (by phone) and was told that the phone would be free with the purchase of an unlimited plan. Jameka did not advised my mother about the purchase of an unlimited plan. Customer service advised my mother to go back to the original store to rectify the problem.
My mother went back and was told again that an unlimited plan would need to be purchased for the phone to be free. The manager told my mother to contact Loyalty (I'm assuming this is another branch of AT&T) and see if they could help solve the problem. My mother went home, contacted Loyalty, and was told to go back to the same store and speak with them again. About two days later, my mother went back to the store a second time and spoke with Jameka. Jameka told my mother to give them 10 days to rectify the problem.
My mother waited 11 days and called Jameka. Jameka answered the phone rudely and told my mother that she was with a customer. My mother waited two days and Jameka called my mother back and stated the issue is still being handled. My mother has called, texted, and e-mailed Jameka and has not found a solution to the problem. At the time of this writing, the problem has not been answered. This is beyond unprofessional! The customer service at this AT&T is well below standard. Jameka and the management at this location are failing to help customers. My mother did nothing anything wrong. She did exactly what Jameka, customer service, and management told her to do, but no solution has been found. My mother has tried to contact corporate; however, their number sends you straight to customer service. This is unacceptable. I feel that this particular store and the overall company are trying to avoid fixing the issue.
My mother and I will no longer do business at this particular location again! It is not worth the hassle. I believe that Jameka was just trying to make a sale and did not care to explain to my mother about the unlimited plan to get the iPhone for free. Furthermore, management failed to make sure the customer was taken care of. It is not professional to tell someone to wait 10 days and not contact them back. Also, it is not professional to have an issue for months and not arrive at a solution. I understand things take time, but this is beyond unacceptable.
To sum this up, do not patronize the AT&T Store at 2825 N. Germantown Pkwy, Memphis, TN 38133. Also, avoid Jameka at all costs! She will not handle issues properly and management will move like snails to rectify the problem. Take your business to other AT&T stores in the Memphis area. read more
