I left Chris multiple messages but now his phone is out of service. My realtor tried to call, the seller's realtor tried to call, the seller tried to call and no one has received any response. CHRIS, if you are out there please come fix the project that you started. This is extremely unprofessional and getting ridiculous. I have been waiting for weeks.

I wanted to post about my recent experience with C & G Appliance Repair as a bit of a warning to…read morefolks. First off, there seem to possibly be 2 appliance repair companies with that name. This one lists an address in Timberlake, NC and a phone number of 919.433.7924. On August 19, I had an appointment with Chris to come look at my refrigerator. The ice maker has really not been working since I moved in in May, and the water flow from the dispenser was very weak. He showed up as scheduled, and told me the ice maker needed to be replaced, and that we should also replace the water filter. He had to order parts and would come back the following Tuesday to complete the repair. Now, this is where I acknowledge my own mistake - I paid by check up front for the parts and his initial visit. No need to tell me I shouldn't do that - lesson learned. In any event, I paid him $230. He had given me a window of 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday to do the repair. By 5:00, when I had not heard from him, I called and left a message. At 6:00, I called again. No call back, he just never showed. I tried to call several times after that but kept getting voicemail. I finally got a hold of him several days later. He told me he had had a family emergency and was on his way to UNC Hospital and was going to get back to me as soon as he was able. I told him I had been concerned that I got scammed and he assured me that I hadn't. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and told him I hoped that everything was going to be ok with his family. Another week passed. No call from him. The next time I tried to call, his phone was completely offline. The message I received indicates that it was a pre-paid and there were no more minutes on the phone. I tried over several days, hoping he would just reload it, but that has not happened. I am now convinced my $230 is gone. So I am posting a review on Yelp and Google Reviews, and notifying folks on the listservs to which I belong. I will also be filing a police report. I will happily update this message if I hear from him, but I am not hopeful that I will. And I would have happily waited as long as necessary for the repair if he had just contacted me and let me know what his situation was. But now it looks like I will be ordering the parts and doing the ice maker installation my own self. Thanks. - J UPDATE: I have received some additional information and might have been too hasty in airing my suspicions. I did not think I "rushed to judgment", but perhaps 3 weeks is not that long if there is a real health emergency. I will update eventually with details as the situation merits. To be clear, I had not yet contacted the police. I wanted to wait a while before I pulled that trigger. I'm glad I did.

Two men came and refused to do the first job - connect an icemaker hose to my fridge - because we had "too much food" and they couldn't move the fridge to get behind. They didn't even notice that my model has a pre-installed connector and can be hooked up without being moved. So I did it myself. The second job was to diagnose a dryer that showed power lights on, but wouldn't start. They correctly identified the door switch as the problem, and replaced it for $79 in parts cost, labor extra. Mighty fancy little switch at $79. But when they left, the dryer outlet hose was disconnected from the wall vent. So I did it myself. I won't bore you any further. Go look up somebody else. This firm is unreliable, overpriced, and incompetent. Or - Just do it yourself.

Dryer Repair. Updated Review:…read more Technician, Tony is a small business proprietor. He showed up on a Sunday as promised which was the result of a Saturday call for help. Disassembled pertinent dryer parts. Showed us the parts that were no longer functional. Replaced the part. On our acceptance of his recommendations, replaced some related belts and parts that were clearly worn. Cleaned up and re-assembled. Answered all our questions. His labor and parts charge was remarkably reasonable. He left his card and left us quite satisfied with having the dryer back in service. On the basis of that day's engagement, the experience was 5 Star. His attentiveness, professionalism, and general personality were exemplary. Alas, two weeks later the dryer again stopped heating. Called the number on the card, 720-908-4426, and it went directly to a automated "the box for this number has not been set up". Not a good sign. Went to the site: "Temporarily Closed Until July 31". An even worse sign. This led me to write this review and downgrade his "score" from a 5 to a 2. I did, however, use the email he had on his card to query him. While the phone number was unhelpful, the email worked and Tony got back to me very quickly. Real Life had and has imposed itself on him, requiring that he abruptly suspend business until the personal issue can be resolved. Based on his prompt and clarifying email, I raise his rating to 4; it should be a 5, and would be if (a) he had set up his phone messaging properly and/or (b) he'd posted a clarifying message on his web site. Neither oversight has anything to do with the quality of his work which was first rate. I suspect the exigencies of his emergence led to those oversights. While I'll likely have to get another service provider because Tony won't be available for a month, I'd wait for him if I could. I unequivocally endorse him and his work. Once he has resumed business, if I have any appliance issues in the future (which are inevitable) I will make him my first call. Life happens to us all.

Do I thought now was the right time to get a generator! I bought a Generac generator from Costco, via Generator SuperCenter, and they performed the installation. The workmanship was fantastic, and my consultant , Nick, was super helpful. He basically held my hand through the whole process, and managed the timeline. They handled the permitting, and the approval with my HOA, the gas technicians, installing the gas pressure sensors and new gas lines, as well as the after inspection with the City. The city inspectors only had minor comments/concerns, which the team at Generator SuperCenter took care of quickly. Once complete, Nick came out and showed me how to operate and set up the weekly service and maintenance tests. If I had any issues, I could contact the service team through the app and schedule any service requests! The Generac mobile app is also helpful to see the status and history of my generator, and super helpful -- especially if you're away! Value wise, I thought the price was very reasonable. The price was all inclusive and I just paid the initial down payment and then the balance the day the workmen came. I bought through Costco, so at the end I got $1600 gift card to spend at Costco. If I had to do it again, I'd do it in the spring or fall, as they had to shut off my electricity for 5-6 hours. One last tip, make sure you keep records of all paperwork and payments, as this is also proof for improvements made to your home. Definitely happy with my investment and the work done by Generator SuperCenter
