The older man's behavior bothered me, for he walked outside without my permission. He made me nervous as he was outside for a long time. I thought perhaps he left to sit in one of their vehicles. However he walked all over my property , even going into my barn and the old kitchen. I am very protective of my home and our land, for our family has lived here for 203 years. I had already told these three men that I do not allow ANYONE to roam about my land without my being present. When he returned to the house, I was angry and hurt that he had walked, maybe even spied, on my land without my permission! I was eager for all Service Experts to depart quickly. They had promised to contact me with a possible proposal for the heating and air conditioning. Now more than a week later, I have called Service Experts on two occasions, they have NOT returned my calls. I have NOT received a letter explaining their possible plans and costs. Obviously I question the integrity of this company and their truthfulness. Their talk did not offend me, but their actions are highly questionable. I do not want such behaviors to be their actions in business practices. At this moment, I am questioning if Service Experts is a trustworthy and reliable business that I want in our home . I do NOT want the older man to return, and I am unsure if I want any person associated with this business to even remember my address. Service Experts must earn my faith and trust; otherwise I will need to contract with one other competitor for this critical project. I wanted to post about my recent experience with C & G Appliance Repair as a bit of a warning to…read morefolks. First off, there seem to possibly be 2 appliance repair companies with that name. This one lists an address in Timberlake, NC and a phone number of 919.433.7924. On August 19, I had an appointment with Chris to come look at my refrigerator. The ice maker has really not been working since I moved in in May, and the water flow from the dispenser was very weak. He showed up as scheduled, and told me the ice maker needed to be replaced, and that we should also replace the water filter. He had to order parts and would come back the following Tuesday to complete the repair. Now, this is where I acknowledge my own mistake - I paid by check up front for the parts and his initial visit. No need to tell me I shouldn't do that - lesson learned. In any event, I paid him $230. He had given me a window of 2 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday to do the repair. By 5:00, when I had not heard from him, I called and left a message. At 6:00, I called again. No call back, he just never showed. I tried to call several times after that but kept getting voicemail. I finally got a hold of him several days later. He told me he had had a family emergency and was on his way to UNC Hospital and was going to get back to me as soon as he was able. I told him I had been concerned that I got scammed and he assured me that I hadn't. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and told him I hoped that everything was going to be ok with his family. Another week passed. No call from him. The next time I tried to call, his phone was completely offline. The message I received indicates that it was a pre-paid and there were no more minutes on the phone. I tried over several days, hoping he would just reload it, but that has not happened. I am now convinced my $230 is gone. So I am posting a review on Yelp and Google Reviews, and notifying folks on the listservs to which I belong. I will also be filing a police report. I will happily update this message if I hear from him, but I am not hopeful that I will. And I would have happily waited as long as necessary for the repair if he had just contacted me and let me know what his situation was. But now it looks like I will be ordering the parts and doing the ice maker installation my own self. Thanks. - J UPDATE: I have received some additional information and might have been too hasty in airing my suspicions. I did not think I "rushed to judgment", but perhaps 3 weeks is not that long if there is a real health emergency. I will update eventually with details as the situation merits. He adjusted the needle position and the charge was very reasonable. He called back after I took the machine home and between the two of us determined an additional problem with the way I was threading the machine. Anyone who has one of these newer Singers has to be very careful that the threading is done properly or the tension will not be correct and can cause the top thread to collect in the bobbin case.
