It is not a safe place. Don't take your children there. Too many kids, parents attacked at this playground.

Travers Park has been a fixture in the Jackson Heights community for the better part of the last 70…read moreyears. It has been a haven for outdoor everything (#1), an ideal spot for the youngins to unleash some energy, and is the site of the weekly Jackson Heights Greenmarket (#2). Named after the local community icon Thomas Travers, it was unveiled to the public in 1949. After a few facelifts in the past few decades, it's become one of the more utilized parks in the borough. Most recently there has been some serious renovation to improve the playground and the half acre of land known as Rory Staunton Field. Fast forward to 2022, it all looks lovely. At just over 2 acres, it's sizable for NYC standards. There are a lot of areas to lounge and lay out, a handful of chess tables, a sprawling kid's area, and plenty of benches to sit on. It's a great people watching area and is in the quieter part of the neighborhood; a stone's throw away from the congestion of Roosevelt Ave. In addition the farmer's market on the weekends, there has been Summer Sundays in the Park, which are seasonal performances put on by local Queens non-profits. This is one of the few places I'd recommend for folks to come check out on a casual weekend. Shop at the farmer's market, bring a dog or kids to play in the field, and enjoy a little (urban) outdoor time. _____________ (#1) Which has been a savior during the pandemic. Travers Park had a $7.1 million renovation during the Pandemic - and it completely shows! (Do NOT…read moreread any reviews of it before 2022 as they are describing and rating what it was like BEFORE renovation work was done!) The transformation was truly amazing where there is a beautiful grassy lawn along 34th Ave., PLENTY of nice clean, new benches to lounge on by yourself or with family and friends, new playground equipment and sprinklers, tennis courts (whereas before was just ugly plain asphalt), and long picnic tables, chess tables, and even an amphitheater space. AND ... *drumroll*.... YES, TWO dog runs (1 for smaller dogs and the other for larger)!!! Other Jackson Heights residents and I really pressed our local government to please provide and they delivered!!! These 2 dog runs are side by side and occupy what used to be 1 of 2 handball courts (1 still remains). These dog runs have a long hose that runs water to clean off these grounds and provide drinking water for dogs who visit. (And of course, it has a large poop bag dispenser right in front in case any owner forgot to bring theirs from home!) And YES, there are events that occur during the warm weather months in this park. NOW WHERE IS AN UPDATED MAP OF THIS GORGEOUS PLACE - ???

Extremely disappointing experience for my child's birthday party…read more I rarely write reviews, but I feel it's important to share this experience so other families know what to expect. We booked our child's birthday party here and it turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences we've had. From the start, communication and customer service were poor. When we booked, we were told that to receive their 20% discount, the deposit had to be paid by cash or Zelle -- no credit cards accepted. We ended up sending a $300 deposit via Zelle. On the day of the party, we were unexpectedly told to pay the entire $944 up front, even though we had already paid a deposit. The staff said they would "refund" the deposit afterward, which was never clearly explained before. This caused unnecessary stress during setup since we had to gather additional cash right before guests arrived. During the event, there were several issues: We weren't asked to sign waivers until after the kids started playing, which interrupted the start of the party. The laser tag (included in our booking) wasn't ready -- the staff said the equipment was still charging. The staff's attitude was dismissive and unhelpful throughout. After the party ended, we stayed about 30 minutes to clean up the room -- something most places understand is part of the process. The next day, when we asked for our $300 deposit refund, we were told it was being withheld because we "stayed 50 minutes longer." That's unreasonable. We were cleaning up, not extending the party, and the children had mostly left. To make things worse, when we tried to discuss this issue, the staff was rude and unprofessional. The facility itself wasn't well maintained -- we even found garbage in the ball pit. Between the lack of communication, poor management, and the unfair way they handled the deposit, I cannot recommend this business to anyone. There are so many better options that actually value their customers. Spend your money elsewhere -- you'll get better service and less stress.

The decor was amazing! It matched what we saw in their website and Instagram. It also came with pizza and juice for the kids and unlimited play. I was allowed to bring additional food and other snacks and they were kind enough to help me set up and plate the food. One tip would be to confirm the arrival of the pizza time. Our was suppose to arrive at 1230 (party started at 12) and it didn't arrive until 130 because of the rain. The pizza is ordered from a pizza shop so it had to be delivered. They were super nice and apologetic about it. The play area is huge and something for everyone. Although it might be hard to track your kid. It also felt cleaner than other indoor playgrounds that we've been too. We would definitely be back!

From the large ball pit and motion-sensor projector game down to the small toys for other sorts of play, it is a great option for all ages. The slides are so cute! Safety protocols will apply and sanitization seems to be "on the ball" for this place. I appreciate the extra care and attention that the workers put into this place for everyone's health and well being. There are snacks and other items on sale. It is all very well set up. The workers are also experienced that if the child does not want to leave, they have ways to coax them to listening to the parents. (huge plus because most of the time, children will want to stay.) Seems like private parties are at a very good cost with different options to choose from. The overall presentation with the party decor and details looked extremely fabulous. Photos are up on the wall to give you a sense of how happening the parties look! Check with the prices, since they may have changed due to the pandemic, etc. It is a great local spot for the neighborhood. Please support your local businesses!
