Turns out it was another neighbour that was making the racket because of a party the complainants were having on the weekend. Astoria... Where to start. If anyone sees this review, this is your warning now to steer clear! Negative Stars if I was able. They will do everything in their power to make your life a living hell and blame all their mistakes and problems on you. Thankfully Plumbers and Restoration workers had our backs MULTIPLE times and prevented Astoria from blaming us for their issues with their plumbing on their side of the building. They took 4 hours to respond to an emergency call to their emergency line while our place was flooding with gray water. We were literally scooping shit water for 4 hours trying to save the place and they harassed us and acted like it was our fault and that we didn't care! Apparently this is a recurring issue with them (in particular ground units). Another issue is they send you improper paperwork for animals and make you jump through all the hoops and you spend $1000s on the animal, shots, licenses, products etc. Then 6 months later they tell you its the wrong paperwork and wont let you sign the proper paperwork and make you get rid of your family member. THEN add a animal deposit fee to the damage deposit even though it was their fault for sending wrong paperwork and I have email proof of not needing an animal deposit from the beginning when we asked about getting the animal. This company needs to be looked into and it will be shocking what is revealed. I have read and heard many horror stories. Run, please run. read more

I would give zero stars if I could! Astoria Asset Management put a tenant in my property located in Olds, Alberta. After 10 months, the tenant did a "midnight move" leaving rent unpaid and three months of unpaid water bills. It took Astoria four days to let me know the tenant had left the property! Six days later it was "not convenient" for them to give me a key so I could inspect the property myself! I eventually had to change locks to get in. I am not sure who Astoria works for but it is definitely not the property owner! After four documented attempts I have still not received confirmation from Astoria that my contract will be terminated upon its' end date and I have not received any finanancial statements from Astoria for three months. If you are a landlord in the Olds area and thinking of using Astoria Asset Management call me! Could not have had a worse experience! read more

Be careful. Make sure you take a picture of any problems with the agent in that picture who is doing the walk through when you move in, because it will be a different agent doing the walk through when you move out. Take pictures of everything when you clean, or even fix when you move in. My daughter was charged $750.75 for cleaning. The worst of it was I was there the whole weekend cleaning with her. We filled holes in the walls, we painted, we washed all the walls, cleaned the stove and fridge inside and out, pulled them out and cleaned behind them. Took the light fixtures down and cleaned them. When she moved in I was there to help as well. The cupboards had black streaks on them because it was cheap paint. The agent told them just to cover them! The place was cleaner when she moved out than when she moved in. Take pictures of the problems with the agent in the picture who does the walk through when you move out, because the agent who did the walk through when you moved in will not confirm anything. Do not trust anything they say! Also being charged for things that were never fixed in the first place. There is some responsibility for repairs on my daughters part, and more than willing to pay for that, but not all the other! Be careful! No stars for this organization! My experience with Astoria in Airdrie has been primarily very positive. After living here for a year, I have noticed that the grounds are regularly tidied and mowed. Shrubs and trees are pruned, and the areas surrounding the buildings are regularly watered. When I asked a young gardener to weed-eat a missed area, he politely and cheerfully tidied it up. When a strip of siding was loosened by the wind, our very pleasant and helpful manager had it repaired in about four days. Management approved my new pets rapidly. The only downside is the parking, so for that, I have docked a star. With two vehicles, one must be parked outside the complex on the street. When we went over our monthly four-day use of "visitor parking" by one day, our vehicle was towed and cost about $300 to get back. Security is very efficient not just in parking oversight: there is virtually no rowdy behaviour or excessive noise. The complex has attracted many friendly and considerate occupants of varying ages. Too, having lived on acreages often in the past, I was worried about living in a smaller space. No longer--I love this place! It is well run and conveniently located close to everything. Having competent management and great neighbours makes living here feel comfortable and safe. read more

She paid a contractor that messed up and it has cost meet $800.00 to fix his facilizes, I have hired a contractor to finish the job, she advise me the issue is closed, very sad state at Astoria Management.... ZERO STARS!! TENANTS BEWARE!! I have been dealing with this company for the property that I was renting from since last year. Not only did numerous problems occur once we had moved in including having no working light bulbs, there was no move out inspection of the garage with the previous tenants and there were numerous items including a vacuum left behind which needed to be removed, any time I showered in the master bathroom, the water was leaking through the wall and into the floor in my bedroom. It took days for them to get back to me and once a plumber was finally sent in, there was no further inspection regarding mold in the wall or health concerns. When someone was sent to inspect and change my furnace filter, we were left with no filter at all and it took two weeks for a new one to be dropped off. The homes were all thrown up by the same contractor and horribly built I am told. From leaving building materials out in all weather conditions, to mold, etc. There is no insulation for a noise barrier. On windy days, the house would actually sway back and forth and I would wake up nauseous. I was a responsible tenant who always paid my rent on time and in full. It was myself and my small daughter living there so we were very quiet and kept to ourselves. Once it came time to do the move out inspection, a day before my lease was actually to expire, I was told I would be charged for the vacuuming of the stairs and rewiping of the glass shower doors and mirror in the master bathroom. Immediately when the property manager said I would be charged, I told her that I still had all of my cleaning supplies in my vehicle from the night before and would gladly go back in and take care of the very minor items she had mentioned. She told me that I was not allowed, which also doesn't make sense as legally my lease did not expire for another 24 hours. They returned a remainder of my damage deposit and kept $300 as an estimate for cleaning which I already believed was ridiculous considering the fact I had spent 5 1/2 hours cleaning the unit, and these items were so minor. Legally my statement and remainder of my desposit had to be returned within 30 days. I tried emailing numerous times to see how much longer it would be as it was getting closer and closer to the 30 day mark and new tenants had already moved into the premises so I know the cleaning had already been completed. The owner of the company then emailed back stating "if Canada Post is unable to deliver in accordance that is not our responsibility". They waited until day 29 to mail my letter out. Once the 30 day mark had arrived, I emailed asking if my lawyer needed to get involved. Only at that time did I receive an email back from the owner of the company stating that from now on my email would be blocked so I could no longer get ahold of anyone at the company and claimed I was "harassing her staff". I politely emailed back that asking for the return of my own money was in no way harassment. When I finally received an invoice, on day 31, it stated not only were they keeping my $300, but that I also owed $626.58, totalling my cleaning costs to almost $900, which is absolutely ludicrous for what needed to be cleaned. I do not and will not be recommending this company to anyone. They were horrendous once it came time to take as much money as they possibly could, not to mention completely unfair and ridiculously unprofessional. This is no way to run a business. Terrible company. They are out to screw you at every turn. I live in sagewood and they patrol the parking lot looking to tow vehicles and hand out tickets. Thinking of having your parents from bc come down for a week visit? Think again. If they use visitor parking for more than 4 days in a row they get towed. Non of the managers at the company will return your calls. They treat people like garbage. If you are looking for a management company with a chip on their shoulder and an authority complex then look no further. If not go with someone else. I wish you could give negative stars. read more

One of the roles of a Property Manager is to provide advice to the Board wrt policies and legislation. Our experience with Astoria is this hasn't happened. As a result unnecessary conflict has arisen; and a couple of owners are seeking a court order over to address a simple matter. I live in a Williamstown townhouse in the north of Airdrie, the builder is Vesta properties. - Astoria is the property manager for the buildings. Astoria has done such a poor job with the parking situation that most of the residents who bought homes here want to leave. This has marred our first home buying experience. Shame on Vesta properties for selling us homes and then treating us like this. Our main contact at Astoria is Kara Bocking and she is rude when we contact the office for information on the condo regulations. To add to this they have hired a security firm to patrol the parking lot on a nightly basis to hand out parking tickets to home owners who are parked in unused 'visitor' stalls because each household is only assigned 1 stall. So if you have 2 cars (a minimum standard in this day and age) you are expected to fight over the 'common stalls' with everyone else in the neighborhood. Parking here in Williamstown is a nightmare. We strongly urge you to consider anywhere else in Airdrie to live. You have been warned. We cannot even organize a meeting with the condo board to air our grievances because Astoria is not forthcoming with the contact information. As homeowners we should have more say. Something must be done about this. read more

I am seriously impressed! I talked to our condo rep at the Astoria office today about a wasp nest we had ( about an hour ago ) and the guy to take care of it is already on site! They are always prompt in dealing with issues. We also had some sagging front steps ( which I had slipped down one day ) and the guy to fix them was there within a matter of days; and this was after a long weekend! I viewed a rental property they managed. They promised all sort of work would be completed. Paint, holes in the wall fixed, bathtub resurfaced, vanity replaced, place cleaned, the list went on. At the time of viewing maintenance people and cleaners were both in working on the place. It seemed very legit and so I looked at the potential the place had. I went to pick up my keys and only one wall in the whole place had been painted. The holes were still there, the vanity not replaced, the bathtub not resurfaced. The lady was EXTREMELY rude. She denied saying of it and when I started pointed stuff out I wanted written down on the walk through she became VERY VERBALLY AGGRESSIVE. I was so disturbed by the property, I requested a contractor to take a look at the place. Not only did it require thousands of dollars of work to make it look less like (for lack of a better word)a dump, he found a number of safety issues with the property. Fortunately I was able to use this to my advantage to get out of the lease. It did take a few days for them to return my damage deposit as well as the rent they charged me while I was unable to live there. I also requested a letter from them stating I was clear from the lease and not going to be held accountable for any utility charges that came up during my lease time. During this conversation, I did have witness, but once again, she denied saying it and got verbally aggressive. I don't recommend dealing with this company. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Do NOT rent or purchase a property from these crooks. First off, I will second what Linda said...they manage their properties horribly!! I have lived in one of their condos for over a year and have had nothing but problem after problem. The main reason I'm writing this is because I had something happen that was the last straw for me. We have a small parking lot and a huge amount of visitor parking, with only one stall per unit unless you rent someone else's. Other residents and myself make up 90% of the people who use these visitor stalls because there is no where else to park. We ALL recieved nasty notes on our windshields saying our vehicles have been recorded and will be towed and fined if we park there again. So they expect us to park our vehicles across the busy street in a mall parking lot?! Sorry but I don't think that is right. Most families have two vehicles. There is no need to have half of the parking lot visitor parking. Make the visitors walk, the TENANTS are paying to be here. Also, I spoke with another tenant who was grabbing a tow note off of their vehicle and low and behold, the note was on an actual visitors vehicle!!! I would hate for my visitor to get their vehicle towed because management is too lazy to make sure they know what they're talking about. To make matters worse, I live in a "new" building built only a few years ago, and the interior looks like a dump. The foundation and roof is cracking and the walls are all covered in putty that, after MONTHS have not been sanded or painted. What are our condo fees going to?! The building is so cheaply built that everything breaks and the walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbour breathing next door. That isn't even the worst of it! The people who work for this company are so unbelievably rude it isn't even funny. One time I had JUST walked outside with my dog and one of the ladies who manages the building rolled up in her vehicle and just started grilling me about having my dog do its "business" in front of the building. I NEVER EVER allow that. I take the time to walk her across the parking lot to a dirt area by a field. As the lady was talking down to me and being rude my dog did her business and the lady made a snide remark about me picking it up. Well lady maybe if you kept your mouth quiet and left me alone my dog wouldn't have had to hold it until she couldn't anymore!! Just the way she spoke to me was so rude and condescending and so disrespectful. These people are on some weird power trip. They also know this is a dog friendly building (the only good thing about it) yet they put salt all over the sidewalks in the winter, my dog was whimpering and pulling her paws up because it burned her paws so bad. Honestly these guys need to change how they treat their clients. WE PAY TO LIVE HERE!!!! They should be treating us with respect. Trust me, if you want to live in peace and be treated fairly do NOT rent or buy from these guys. Just don't!! read more
