I love Dr McGibney, she is friendly, very knowledgeable, professional and wonderful to my Yorkies! She has been spot on with diagnosis and treatments for our dogs. Their hours are very accommodating, when applicable, their refills are filled swiftly as well! I really like the veterinary assistant's who have all been super friendly! A long-overdue review for the incredible team at Aston Vet! I was lucky enough to met Dr. Anderson a year ago at a pet function where Aston Vet had an information table. I explained how difficult it was for my Shiba Inu (difficult is their middle name)to receive pet care because he was terrified to say the least. Dr. Anderson explained Aston Vets fear free approach where "happy visits" are incorporated and I was sold. From the moment we walked through the door, it was evident that Dr. Anderson and staff truly prioritize the well-being and comfort of their furry patients. I cannot express enough how impressed I was with the level of care and true dedication provided by the entire team, particularly Dr. Anderson, Kelly, Brian, Lisa and the star of the show Kate who worked tirelessly with Simba through countless happy visits. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, but her genuine love for animals is evident in every interaction. Kate went above and beyond to ensure that Simba felt comfortable and at ease throughout his many visits, from the initial examination, happy visits and necessary procedures. Kate's patience and compassion made a world of difference in helping to alleviate any anxiety Simba may have had. I had the privilege of witnessing Kate's remarkable work firsthand as she embarked on a mission to make Simba feel at ease during each visit and that one day he will no longer fear vet appointments, and she did just that and then some! Sadly the practice has gone downhill since DR B retired. They are inconsiderate and incompetent. My dog is highly stressed out by going to the vet and we have to medicate her. Instead of trying to schedule an appt when she can get all of her vaccines they had us come back and medicate her again. When we got there they tell us it has not been 2 weeks since her last vaccine and can we come back in 2 days. Like I don't have a job and that we don't have to medicate the dog. They schedule the appt 2 days before they should and We then have to be inconvenienced and come back. It is not big deal for them and they don't care how hard it is on us. Told them they are not the only vet in the area and we will find another one. Sad because they used to be the best. We have been taking out pets there for 13 years and are now going to go elsewhere. They did not even apologize and just emailed me my dog's medical records....So Sad read more

OHMIGOSH! What was I thinking driving to my old vet in the city when this wonderful clinic is closer to my house?? My sister-in-law lives like two blocks away from this animal hospital and has been taking her dog there since they bought their house three years ago. Yesterday I was in need of an appointment because my dog had an allergic reaction to some flea bites. My old vet didn't have any convenient appointments for people who work until 5:00, so I figured I'd see if I could get an appointment here. I managed to get a 7 pm appointment on the same day I called. So, last night I arrive and am pleased to see a nice big waiting room. We were taken to an exam room right at 7:00 and were all done and out of there by 7:30. I like that they take your payment IN the exam room so you're not having to juggle your pet and your payment out front while there are other animals distracting your pet. I also really liked the doctor, Mandy Becker. The best part is that THE BILL FOR THE VISIT AND THE MEDICATION WAS ONLY $71.00!!! And they gave me a $20.00 gift card for my next visit since last night was our first time there! Lastly, their online site is extremely useful. You can see when your animals are due for vaccines or tests, you can see who last treated your dog and what was done, and you can request appointments online. Five stars for one of the vets being really great and compassionate when we lost one of our beloved kitties to renal failure. Props also to the last vet I dealt with regarding my other aging kitty, for being so patient with my endless questions. No stars to the vet tech that insinuated my cat is overweight because I think it's "cute", and then raised her voice to talk over me when I tried to tell her he's been on a diet for the last two years and has plateaued in his weight loss. Usually this office is fine, but my last visit was the worst. On top of the terrible vet tech, you can hear everything that's going on in the back room while you're waiting in the exam room. They should be aware that everyone can hear their gossip clear as day. Also their pricing is insane -- I dropped $350 on a rabies shot and a blood test without any sort of warning. read more

Unfortunately after using and loving Aston Vet for almost 40 years, we felt the need to make a change. With the leaving of Dr Brezinski, the place is just not the same. My dog was limping, and they couldn't see him for 4 days, which is totally unacceptable. Dr B. would have seen him. Fortunately the SPCA has a walk in clinic and he was seen that day and treated for an infection in his paw. It doesn't appear that they leave time for sick pets in their schedule, only routine visits. I need a vet that's available when my dog has a problem, not 4 days later. Sorry to see a 40 year relationship end. read more

I've been using this veterinarian hospital for 20 years and I'm sad to say it went downhill and downhill fast. I'm not sure what happened I think one of the doctors retired and everything changed. They cut their hours back substantially you could never get anyone live on the phone to talk to you they put you on hold forever and it's like they're never even opened anymore it's not just because of the cove at 19 that this happened. It's very sad because I've always been happy with them over the 20 years that I've been using them. My dog is 11 years old and I don't think he has that much longer to live but needless to say if I get another pet I will not be using them. Most people who work here are nice enough but the prices don't match what they can do for you. I spent $300 on a wellness visit where they ran some tests that all ended up being useless. They also didn't tell me about the cost of these tests, they just ran them and I saw the bill at the end. I inquired how much a dental service costs and their LOW estimate was $800 (for reference the SPCA does dental work starting at $200). I always feel ripped off when I leave here. Save your money and get similar service elsewhere. read more

I have taken both my dogs to this Vet for a number of years until recently. They will rake you under the coals with test after test. The last straw was when my dog went in to be diagnosed on a Tuesday, $$$$$, they gave my pet an antibiotic. I went back on a Thursday and they wanted to run more test $$$$$ to determine why the antibiotic they prescribed made my pet essentially walk backwards. My pet only weighed 4lbs. Looking back at past visits, there was always a need for them to run test after test. read more

Over priced - lost some of our records due to everything getting switched to the computer and conveniently we needed a vaccine we already had. Then we were told our dog had dirty teeth. The funny part about that is we had them professionally cleaned the day before!! They wanted to do a "dental treatment" that would involve putting an 11 year old dog under anesthesia. Then when we agreed to do the heart worm test they slipped in two other labs that had nothing to do with the heart worm. Of course when the girl cam to collect our money and we asked doe a breakdown she had to go back and get it. (That is when we learned about the other items not preciously disclosed). When we got the breakdown they were missing the heart guard pills which added another $100. I'll go two stars only because at one time they had their act together and put animal care over $$. Now they are unorganized, barely professional and over priced. It's a shame because when the dogs were younger it was a really good place to go. I've had conversation with the owner about this stuff before and I'm sad to say it's gotten nowhere read more

I am a new client. I found an abandoned kitten the other night at work, and I called this establishment pretty close to their closing time because I didn't know who else to call. They reallyhelped me out by telling me what to give the kitten for the night, but in my panic I didn't even think to make an appointment. I called them first thing the next morning (literally the minute they opened) and an hour and a half later I was in their office feeling much better knowing that these people knew what they were doing. The whole team that I met was great, and they really made me feel so much better about taking care of such a young kitten. She's only 3 1/2 weeks old! They gave me some tips and were nothing but friendly. They also gave me a bag of food for when she can upgrade to hard food. They included a folder with pamphlets and papers loaded with information on kitten/cat care. They even printed specific things out for me. During this visit, I saw Dr. Deborah Brzezinski and a vet tech (I think, and I cannot remember her name!). I have to make a special shout out to Dr. Robert Cafaro, as every time I've called them with questions, he's been the one to take my call and he's very informative and patient with me. I really had no idea how to care for something so fragile, so it was very stressful at first. With everyone's help at this business, I am feeling much more confident that I can take care of and train this kitten (she's doing great so far, by the way). Definitely a 5 star experience, one that will keep me coming back! read more

We have been using Aston Vet for a year and half since we got our puppy and have been really pleased with everything they have done for us. When we got Millie from the shelter she had a cough. Aston was the only place around that would see her that afternoon. They told me to just come in whenever I could and they would see her. Ever since that first visit we have had the same great experiences. Our poor puppy has been through a lot. She was spayed and then we discovered a few months later that she had heart worms. We were devastated and dreaded seeing what the costs would be. Its the hardest thing to balance how much to spend on your dog verses making sure she is healthy. I was at home when they called me and said that the receptionist found out that HeartGuard would pay for the treatment and she would take care of all the paper work. I couldn't believe it. She went out of her way to call the company and get the details worked out. We were thrilled and so thankful that she did that for us. With both her spay surgery and the heart worm treatment, the vets were amazing. They took care to make sure that I knew everything to expect. They also called the next day when she was home to check up on her and make sure there wasn't anything we needed. They really showed that they care. Even with each of her regular check ups to get her shots they made sure that we didn't have any questions and were happy with how she was doing. I heard from some people that they were more expensive than other places. I called around when we were getting her spayed and they were about the same as everyone else. As for the other things I can't say, but we have been so happy with everyone there I can't imagine taking her anywhere else. Some times there is a bit of a wait, but no worse than when I go to the doctor for myself. read more

We brought our Morkie Gia to Dr. Becker when she had severe liver toxicity. After several days we came to the decision to let her go. Dr Becker was sympathetic to us and honest. She was comforting and Gia was at peace. Now we have a Yorkie and again we had the pleasure of having DrBecker and Dr Catafaro. Both take their time to explain procedures. This vet is the absolute worst place to take your animal. The last time i took my dog was for a lump on her leg. They told me it was cancer and bacteria and to put her on an antibiotic for a week and to come back. I made an appointment for the following week for them to re-aspirate it- all for them to say they couldn't give me an answer of what it was. Told me i would need to wait until Monday so another doctor could look at it ..Then Monday comes and I don't get a phone call until almost 7pm for them to tell me they couldn't tell me what it is and just to have it taken off without knowing the results. I called about a month later to see if they were able to take the lump off of her leg and they then told me "if we asked you to do it over a month ago and you didn't .. we now don't have enough emoloyees for a surgery like that and we had to give up all our surgical stuff to animal hospitals . you should have done something sooner" What a joke !! Charged me for two visits when the second visit all they did was aspirate the area but i was charged a full office visit . Absolutely useless. I will never bring another animal to that place again. All they care about is money- nothing shows me they care for the animals they treat. read more

On my most recent visit, when I decided not to get my dog's nails cut that day because he was already pretty upset after receiving four shots, they understood completely.
