The part I dislike, is that I question the quality of their work at times. They recently replaced the drive shaft on my car, with a used one. However, after driving the car home, something still wasn't right. I took the car back in and they looked at their work and realized that the new drive shaft they installed was very obviously dented. While I am grateful that they worked to find me the best deal on a part (+++), I'm disappointed that they didn't look the part over before hand to make sure it was in good condition (---).

There was another instance where I brought a vehicle in that was not worth fixing. They offered to do the work, but were very upfront about the cost versus the worth of the vehicle. We sold that vehicle to carvana for 17500.00 and bought something else. Westside could have easily just done the work and charged us the 9000 dollars. Instead they took the time to have a discussion about it.

I'm talking less than 2 months on the road. There was nothing on the tire to suggest I had hit a nail or other road hazard. Basically, several employees there told me it was my fault I got the flat and they weren't willing to call Goodyear to inquire about the warranty so I had to pay them the full ~$200 for a tire and labor costs. They also very rudely said that if I had any issue with the new tire I bought from them, there was no guarantee / warranty on the new one either! Decided to get a second opinion. Went to Discount Tire on Napier Ave in Benton Harbor and explained my situation. They made no promises but contacted Goodyear to ask about it. Turns out it was covered because spoiler, it wasn't my fault and Goodyear corporate stands by their products. In any case, had it replaced by them and haven't had any issues since. And there's a warranty on it if anything else happens over the life of the tire. I asked at another shop for my own curiosities, and basically this place should have at least called corporate. As far as I can see, this is a scam shop. Do yourself a favor and don't go here.

Be cautious if Pro Muffler & Brake asks you to purchase the parts for a repair…read more I paid them to replace a special-order bushing on my 4x4 pickup. They asked me to obtain the parts myself, as they had done during an earlier repair. After the work was completed, the new seal leaked. When I returned, they said they would charge me additional labor to correct the problem because I had supplied the parts. Their signed warranty states, "We will honor work that we have performed, and there are no exceptions." I understand that a shop may not warranty a customer-supplied part, but that limitation should have been clearly explained before the work was authorized--not after a problem appeared. I now have to pay another shop to determine whether the seal was improperly seated, the housing was damaged, the supplied part was defective, or something else caused the leak. My advice: insist that this shop obtain the required parts itself, and get the parts-and-labor warranty terms in writing before approving any repair.
