Made an appointment on their website, ordered and paid for tires. A week later I show up for my appointment, and they said they don't have my tires I paid for, and that I will have to reschedule another appointment; of which I'll have to use PTO to come in again. First he was told the air wasn't working but when he was pulling around there was a young man on the garage door putting air in someone's tires he pulled up and asked if he could put air in his tires too and he said yes so my husband pulled up behind the car when he was done with the car ahead of him my husband pulled up and the guy tossed the hose and went back in and closed the garage door. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had been a loyal customer since they built this place. We took all of our vehicles here for everything - not just tires[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, since the store manager, Jim, left, I have been treated very poorly by this group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I valued Jim's honesty and expertise - knowing when something needed to be replaced compared to when we needed to replace something in the near future. I appreciated that. I went in last week with a scan / print out for codes for two oxygen sensors that needed to be replaced. I was told that they had to rescan the vehicle with their scanner because it was "calibrated". The superior, calibrated scanner threw the same exact codes that my free scan gave! I was then charged almost $150 for the scan and given a quote for and additional $550 to replace two front oxygen sensors! [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I questioned why I was being charged for the scan that was the same as the one I brought in, the guys thought it was funny (actually laughed) and then tried mansplaining the situation to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I am not a mechanic, but I'm not dumb and I know a scam when I see one. I bought winter tires last fall. I asked them to check the thread on my seasonal tires they said it was good which I knew to be true as they only had 30k miles on them. I went today to swap. The technician lied to me saying they checked my tires and they were below the required 3/32". I returned and got my keys and left. Only one tire had the plastic bag off and my car never went into their garage. Michigan law states 2/32" not 3/32" like he said, plus I had over 1/4" left. Never going back to this crooked shop. WOW! Fixed for FREE! My story; My regular car care provider from whom I purchased my tires was swamped with work so I continued to fill a leak in one tire with free air at Belle Tire until my regular guy could work me in. It was becoming a nuisance so I decided to have Belle do the job. Never asked the cost because, at this point, it did not matter. Once complete, I approached the service desk to pay and was told "No Charge." Got to be kidding! He then went on to say I should bring my car in every 5,000 miles for rotations at "no charge." This is to extend the life of the tires (thereby delaying the sale of new????). Crazy business model, but... I am liking this new relationship. Bought GoodYear tires rated 7 in early 2022; unfortunately this was the worst purchase and customer service ever. The bill was over $1k for tires, balancing and alignment. Since the work was done, the vehicle continued to have some vibration issues and tires kept losing air slowly. In preparation for a trip, I returned to Belle Tire to make sure the car was safe to drive on these tires. The manager reassured me that the tires were rebalanced and safe to drive. They never checked the alignment. Once on the road the tires continued to increasingly vibrate. During the trip, the car vibrated and veered to the left. When I arrived at my destination about 900 miles later, I sought for another chain to look at my tires. They found that the tires were balanced but needed another level harmonic balancing. They also found out that the vibration came from a slightly defective rim and a little bit of rotor issue. They decided to address the vibration issue by placing the rim in question in the back of the vehicle. This solution was suitable for the time being with still a little bit of vibration. Upon returning from the trip, the driver's rear tire developed a slow leak which rendered the tire useless by the end of the day. Luckily I had a portable air pump to keep me going the following day. I called Belle Tire the next day to have them fix the tire but instead they gave me an appointment for the following week. They prioritized new customers rather than provide good customer service to returning clients. In the meantime my tire kept going down daily creating an inconvenience. I tried calling again to see if they would see me earlier. They'd pick up the phone and place me on hold for long periods at a time without listening to my concern. I could not even get them to call me back. So I decided to call customer service. It was difficult to find the number. When I did find it, I received a call two days later. They could not get me an earlier time. So I had to wait until the following week to get them to repair the leaky tire. When I spoke with the manager, he politely apologized and told me that customers are put on hold on the phone when the store is busy. They have no policy in place to provide customer service on the phone when they are busy on the floor. He also revealed that I should have been told to bring the car in the next day when they opened in the morning. I had asked for quick service initially the week before but I was told it was not available; I had to bring in the car on the day of the appointment. He also revealed that if I had bought a replacement tire, I could bring the receipt in for a refund. Well, I had to pay to get the tire properly balanced but he did not offer to cover the cost. They eventually fixed the tire; all four tires has faulty valves and losing air slowly. One tire has a nail in it, which explain the frequent flats. I am, however, quite disappointed that their customer service for such expensive tires was very poor. BTW, they were polite all along, their customer service is quite incompetent. This is why I gave them 2 stars. I plan to take my business elsewhere next time I need new tires or related services. I cannot in all honesty recommend this place to anyone. They need to improve their customer service; it is pretty archaic. read more

The professionalism was very poor I hand called in twice to their shop to see how the service was going and it was very short rude comments. They also wanted to charge me for 2 hours of service when they told me all they did was try to put my truck on the lift and then said nope too rusty to do that. how am I going to get charged for 2 hours worth of service to not even get a quote on my truck? read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Or any belle tire. You will waste your time and money. They had my truck for 6 hours and were supposed to do an alignment and mount/ balance 4 tires. When they finally called and said it was done I show up and they never did my alignment, the tech said they ran out of time, the manager told me my truck was to wide for the machine and to take it somewhere else. So who is lying? The tech or the manager? They didn't balance my tires properly. Instead of using the machine and using wheel weights they put balancing beads in the tires and now my truck shakes going down the highway bad enough for my seatbelt to lock. read more

Terrible luck with a flat tire trying to get back to Chicago from Michigan. The management staff (Levi and Dylon) actually got their hands on the exact Michelin tire I needed to match the other 3 I had recently installed and got me back on the road in no time. I needed the tire to file my roadside hazard claim and the tech Robert took the time to bag it before carefully placing it into the hatch. Great all around - thanks guys. read more

I brought my truck in for an alignment after replacing upper and lower ball joints and an upper control arm. After 5 minutes they pulled my truck back around and told me that it needed $833 in front end work. I told them that I just personally worked with another local shop and changed those parts the day before so that I was not falling for this shit about needing to spend $833. They said the front end was loose and they couldn't align it. I told them do the best you can and they pulled it back in. I was given a before and after print out of my alignment specs. They didn't even attempt to adjust the camber which is adjusted at the upper control arm bolts (which I just had loose to replace the day before). The tech who did my alignment told me that the camber on my truck (2000 Silverado Z71) is not adjustable. That is a flat out lie, and he didn't even attempt it. When I put the new control arm on I adjusted the camber to the center of the slide adjusters to get it close just to drive it to Belle Tire for alignment. I also removed the control arm on the other side and greased the bushings so they can't even use the excuse about not being able to adjust the camber because of the bolts being rusted or not being adjustable period. After my alignment I took my truck back to the shop where we did the front end work and I showed the owner the alignment sheet and the price estimate for the front end work. He put my truck back on the lift and showed me there is absolutely NO PLAY in the front end and that they parts they tried to sell me are in perfect condition with minimal wear. He also looked at the alignment print out and said "looks like they didn't even try to adjust the camber". I feel like I was ripped off for $90 since my alignment is visibly incorrect. Even my girlfriend who knows nothing about cars said she can tell just but looking at my tires angle from the front of my truck that it is incorrect. I am so dissatisfied with Belle Tire that I will never bring another one of my vehicles there and I will make sure to tell everyone I know who asks for a recommendation not to take a vehicle there because they will try to sell you repairs that you don't need and they are incompetent in aligning a vehicle and will tell you that it's not adjustable when a Chevy truck is clearly one of the most popular vehicles. Now I have to take my truck to another alignment shop and pay YET AGAIN for work that should have been done correctly at Belle Tire in the first place. I put 4 brand new All Terrain tires on my truck the week before, plus the front end work, and wanted to make sure that my alignment was proper so that I will get the proper wear and life out of these tires. Buyer beware of this place.!! If I could give this place negative five stars I would I had my front brakes done here a few years ago. Paid a lot of money to get a lifetime warranty on the pads. I brought it in because another trusted mechanic where I get my oil change for $20 less(right across the street) pro muffler and brake than Bell tire charges right across the street told me that the pads were starting to wear thin I said okay thank you for the information I have a lifetime warranty over at Belle tire I'll have them take a look. Both rotors and both calipers were replaced before pads were installed now these guys won't honor their warranty after having my van for 7 hours. They wanted to charge me another $300. I'm not sure how this place stays in business the parking lot was filled with cars they said they only had one mechanic and I saw two guys changing tires all of the bays were empty most of the day I thought I may as well pay the extra $2o for an oil change. Since they had my van anyway. When I decided that I was not going to let them rip me off again I asked did you do the oil change he said yes. And I won't even charge you for it. I just needed my pads swapped out pretty simple. They ended up doing a complete diagnostics checking why my battery light was on which I already knew it's because my alternator is bigger than the one needed is all working perfectly fine then he started saying stuff about my differential leaking seals bearings... Come on my Vans 20 years old sure it's going to have some issues but I only wanted to address what they had under warranty. I had a similar experience with the same place 3 years ago when I had a leak in my brake line they gave me a quote for $400 dollars after sitting there again for 5 hours waiting. I said are you out of your mind? I took it across the street to pro muffler brake they charged me 80 bucks. Plus they gave me 20% off for senior discount nice people over there. They treat you with respect fairly honestly and don't rip you off looking for things that you don't need to have done. I get it you guys are on commissions I'm sure 80% of people are so naive that they will believe you. Just wait till you try to get them to honor one of their warranties especially if it's lifetime. So when I told him he wasn't going to get paid again because he did not honor his warranty I asked him did you change the oil and did he put new oil back in it he said yes of course we did. do you think I would let you drive out of here and blow up your engine? I said to myself yes you probably would. So when I got my van pulled around front I checked the oil just to make sure there was some in it still and it was the old oil. So I went back inside to the assistant manager Jesus Flores and I asked why would you lie to me about the oil change then I paused and says oh wait a minute I know why because you're a liar and a crook and that's how you operate. Severely disappointed!!!! I went in day before Thanksgiving to have 2 tires put in front. 2 best tires left on back and next best put on spare. I told clerk that I thought the drivers back tire had an issue vibrating. Within a few hours of starting my journey to Kentucky as a single mom with my daughter, I realized the same tire was still vibrating. I called Belle Tire and he advised stopping at one in Indiana, so I did. The mechanic who drove my car first insisted that nothing was wrong. Upon me pleading for him to take the tire off and check it it was confirmed that the first Belle Tire in Benton Harbor has not even removed the back tires and that particular tire was missing a weight. In addition to that I was given a 600$ish quote to fix a rear right wheel bearing that will not last to make my trip back to Michigan from Kentucky (but he also couldn't feel any vibration at 60mph! I was shocked !!! I literally asked the clerk the cashed me out in Benton Harbor if everything checked okay as I was headed to Kentucky and he assured me, a single mother traveling with a small child, that my car was in good travel condition...and it was not ! I never would have left the state if I had known about the bearing. Additionally, I was extremely dissatisfied that my spare tire was placed in backwards and the attachments and jack left across my trunk. Poor quality service at both locations. Why did two mechanics not feel the vibrations I could feel ? Our lives were endangered due to sloppy seduce! This company has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in life. The management there are so unprofessional. I have a 2005 BMW. One of my tires had run flat. The management never called a head to tell me. I had to miss work and the only way I found out is I had to find a ride back to the company and only then was I told about my bad tire. To make matters worse the only way I was able to get my car home is they put tire on the rim, didnt air it up but yet they pulled it out of their bay with no air in it at all and I had to air it up myself. This is a long review, but please read it before making a purchase at the Benton Harbor Belle Tire store. We recently had a tire fail on our four wheel drive vehicle. We were informed by the staff at the store that we would have to purchase for tires rather than just one, as the vehicle is four wheel drive, and the tread height on the rest of the tires was not enough to match a new tire. We agreed to go ahead with a $600 purchase, because I planned to put one of our used tires on as a spare, and keep the other two since they match another vehicle that we have as well. Mind you, the tires that were being taken off were barely worn, and certainly way less than half used up. I asked to have the three good used tires put in the back of the SUV for us to keep, and for them to check the torque on the wheel lugs that I had changed by hand on the side of the road. The work was done in a timely fashion, but it was late in the day Friday afternoon when we picked up the vehicle, and were in a rush because we were traveling out of town shortly. It was not until we got home that I saw they had not put the used tires in the back of our SUV and the store was closed, so I couldn't talk to anyone at that time. I called on the following Monday morning and the gentleman that I spoke with said he would ask the tire changer, that the tires should still be on site, and that he would call me back shortly. Tuesday afternoon I called back and spoke with the same gentleman who then informed me that he had talked to the tire changer, and the tires had been put in the dumpster, but now the tires were not there. When I voiced my concern about getting the tires back, he said that he could get three good used tires from their salvage center to replace them, and he would let me know as soon as they came in. The following Monday we went into the store to ask about the status of the used tires. The staff that I spoke with first was the gentleman that took our original sale and assured me face to face that the used tires would be given back to us. He initially insulted me and informed me that he couldn't even talk with me about this problem due to MY lack of due diligence waiting this long to report it, then he wanted no part of listening to the explanation that I HAD reported the next business day and it was the lack of their follow up that brought me back in again. The gentleman that I spoke with on the phone stepped into the conversation and assured me that he had three tires coming for us, and that he would call when they came in. We had the tires put on 10/16/2015, and as of today it is over thirty days later, and this issue has not been resolved. I have made three follow up phone calls as well as a store visit in an attempt to resolve it. I have also inquired at the corporate level, and at this point I have no intention of making another purchase there if this is not resolved. Oh, they never torqued the lugs on the wheel that I changed roadside either, which is a safety issue not to be ignored. Fortunately I caught it after realizing their failure regarding the tires, I checked the torque at my shop and they were way under spec. read more

Then for the installation I took my truck early in the morning and it took all day for them to have my truck ready and they still left my truck all dirty from the inside. Purchased new tires for my truck there yesterday. The tires I wanted were not in stock so Todd ordered them for me and had them in 2 days. Very quick efficient service with a free alignment check as well as checking out all the suspension parts while installing the tires. Belle also will rotate the tires for free and fix any reparable flats after the purchase. All said, a good experience in a clean modern facility. read more

I brought in a single tire to be replaced and replace the TPMS sensor. They got it all changed. When I got home the tire was flat. so I aired it up and could hear a hiss. It was leaking from the vavle steam. I went to school to be a mechanic and have worked in the field most of my life. I do all my own work except tires because I dont have the equipment. I know sometime if not cleaned properly they valve steams dont seal. So I called and they told me to bring it in to get it fixed. After a hour and a fifteen minutes I went in to check on it and they said that my sensor was broke and tried to blame my sensor that I had brought in, instead of purchasing theirs. I have used the same sensors since I worked in the field. Working in the field and doing tires hundreds of times before I know if not done properly and carfully the sensors get broke. I had a spare with me just incase but instead of telling me it broke taking the tire off they did nothing but blame me and my sensor. when i showed them that rubber markes on the sensor where it was hit with the tire they gave me my flat tire with no sensor and told me to leave. I am educated with tires and sensors and this is how I was treated. so be carfully they will gladly take full advantage of you if you dont know any better. I even asked to speak to the manager and Levi told me he was the manager when he is not and wouldnt let me speak to his superior. read more

Per the dealership, I went in to get a tire to get me back to Grand Rapids since I had driven on a spare for quite some distance. Belle Tire said they could sell me a tire for $175 that is close to what I have but that I would be better off with the spare because of the all wheel drive. They checked the pressure on the spare, moved it to the safest location on the car and told me how to drive on the spare back to Grand Rapids. They apologized that they didn't have the tire I needed and charged me nothing. Belle Tire, you will have all of my tire business from here on out. read more
