Being a business owner myself I know what it's like to have disappointed customers give you bad reviews and the good reviews go unposted. That being said I read the above reviews and decided to give Associated Paving a try. They did not disappoint. Their price/quote was well below the other 3 estimates that my husband got from other companies. They called and sent texts numerous times to make sure we were all on the same page as to when the work would be done and finished. This is a family owned business and I could not be more pleased with the work and friendly nature that Pete and family brings to it. If you need paving done I would recommend Associated Paving for the job. As with any company make sure to get a contract with a start date and a completion date as well as payment expectations.

Our driveway came out great and the new patio / walkways are also very nice. It took much longer than expected.

Poor quality work. Unresponsive to any form of communication (phone, email, text). Refuses to fix defects in work (driveway paving).

Horrible service, they took my money and ran with it. Never came back to finish the job. At first I…read moretold them I did not want to pay everything up front since the job wasn't done, then this guy named "John" (perhaps a fake name?) started to yell at me for not paying them for the job they have already done. By then I had already paid him 80% of the full price. I ultimately need a cellar door replaced and couple of minor fixes he promised to have done for me which he needs to come back for it. Due to the pandemic and all the stores being closed, we weren't able to get the materials on time. Since I wanted to trust them and this all happened while middle of the coronavirus pandemic, I did not want to stir up any dispute so I trusted that they would come back to fix it. Now that I have the door delivered to me, whenever I call John up, he would ignore my calls and texts. Now I need to hire a lawyer and take this to the small claims court. Horrible, horrible people. Do not hire him. He sounds super nice and professional, but it's all a scam. If you do hire him, never pay him upfront - but that would be hard because he will somehow make you pay. I can write more of the detailed story if anyone needs it.

I called the number on the truck and got the owner Joseph George. He was very nice and said he would send someone over. So his guy Clayton shows up and he seemed very nice. Gives me a bid for between $3,000 and $3,500 for the stairs. Then recommends that I should reseal my driveway. I hadn't thought about it but he said he had "extra material and he could do it cheap". He said $400 and I got him down to $300. He told me he was going to do the same job for a neighbor for $700, please don't tell them what I was paying he tells me. He said that it would look great, they would fill in all the cracks and blow the debris off the driveway prior to doing the job. He calls me back about an hour later that his boss Josef George said they should use fresh material and could they come back Wednesday. Sure I said. I waited for their call that they were coming and it never came. I ran some errands and then my mother in law who is 83 calls me in a panic. Some guys showed up to do the driveway and they wanted her to pay $475. I get the guy on the phone and he says I should get 2 coats and it will be $475. I said we agreed on $300. He says fine but I am only getting one coat. I asked him how long it would take and he said he would be done in 15 minutes and I could bring the "cash " to his job site down the street. I thought that 15 minutes did not seem like enough time to do the job. I get home and the job was a joke. There was bare spots all over the driveway , they never cleaned the driveway and debris and leaves were just covered over in the tar, the cracks were never filled either. It was a hack job. I called the number for Joseph George the owner. I told him my concerns hoping they could fix the issues. He got angry, nasty and started cursing. He told me to "accept the job as his gift and never ever call him again." Now I am being treated like the crook. 15 minutes later his son shows up, also a Joseph. I told him what just transpired and he say, "Yeah my Dad is a nasty angry guy. Don't start with him." I show him my concerns and he gives me some sob story how the sealing was his job and he's out money. I give him $150 and he says that Clayton will be back to fill in the cracks because they don't even do that normally since it will come out in 3 months (mind you my last guy sealed some cracks and it had lasted 2 years). I gave them the money because I don't need their charity or their guilt. Stay away from these guys. Beware the name Joseph George. He apparently had another Paving and Masonry business called AFFORABLE ALWAYS PAVING AND MASONRY. Here is the link to the lawsuit from the New Jersey Attorney General. Same guy different company. Their cards look like they were done at home on a computer. http://njconsumeraffairs.gov/press/pdf/always102705.pdf Also seems to be based out of Freehold with an Emily George as the President.

From the sales team to the installation, and customer service, everyone was helpful and responsive. The installation crew and foremen were knowledgeable and kept the team on schedule working into darkness. Clean up was amazing. No debris was left overnight or the next day. Nails were vacuumed, even attic spaces were vacuumed. I can not say enough about Minn!!!! When customer service is no longer valued, she exemplifies what it means to put the customer first. She answered all my questions (no matter how trivial) with respect and kindness. She was extremely responsive dispatching a team (prior to the installation) when I had a ice damming leak She kept us inform throughout the installation process. If I could give them 10 stars I would. GREAT JOB!!

Their pricing was similar to the competitors, but what set them apart was that they offered unlimited pier depth per section. Other companies had limits--for example, up to 20 feet, then an additional charge per foot after that. I'm glad I went with Groundworks because several of my piers ended up going 90 feet deep across 16 sections. With another company, that could have cost me significantly more. I also had their gutter guard system installed (similar to a French drain, though they claim it's better), along with a vapor barrier and mold treatment. I will say, if you have a serious mold issue, I'd recommend hiring a dedicated mold remediation company instead. I did have an issue with the mold spray, but after calling a couple of times, I was able to speak with a manager who surprisingly took my concerns seriously and resolved the issue. The salesman who came to my house, Randy S., was excellent--very thorough and knowledgeable. He always answered my calls and would text be back in a reasonable timeframe. One thing I didn't like was the same-day discount tactic. They present you with a price, then offer 10% off (or whatever discount they choose) if you sign that day. It puts pressure on you to make a major decision on the spot, which is difficult when you're spending over $50,000. There is a three-day cancellation window, but some people may see the discount as more of a sales tactic than a real benefit. I also want to mention the foreman on the job, Jose G. He was great--he answered all of my questions and even let me watch and learn a little while they were working. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. Their warranty is transferable, which is a nice bonus, and hopefully I won't have any more issues going forward.
