I opened up my checking account when I first began working. years ago. Some years later Associated bought the bank my account was at, and wow, have things changed! I've had other people's payroll deposits put into my account(who would have thought it was hard to give money back??), and other people's cell phone bills deducted from my account (even harder to fix). I can't set up my account online because they claim their system doesn't recognize my account, and now I can't even use their automated voice system without waiting for a representative for the same reason. Perhaps they should stop acquiring other banks and try taking care of the customers they already have!!!!!!! The people working behind the counter are great, but one of the "higher up: folks is not-- Go with an actual local bank, or a credit union--Associated is the pits read more

Summit Credit Union

Avoid Summit Credit Union at all costs…read more We opened 2 checking and 2 savings accounts because they advertised a $200 incentive after 15 debit card swipes on new accounts. After completing the requirement, we had to repeatedly call and fight to get the bonus we already qualified for. Then I tried getting a HELOC through them and it turned into another complete waste of time. Constant back and forth, delays, and mixed messages while they claim they "care about their members." That couldn't be further from the truth. The process felt like a game instead of a professional financial service. The good news? Another credit union approved us with no issues at all. Because of how Summit handled things, they lost ALL of our business -- checking, savings, Heloc and even an auto loan we opened as well. "You work off commission right? Big mistake. Huge!"

Kind of looks like a dump inside. Staff never stays very long, very high turnover rate. I always travel to the Slinger location for my banking needs now. read more
