    This is where the bellied pipe was. We were told this dirt would "settle" about 4 months ago, this photo is from today.

    Worst association I have ever interacted with. Has made my family contemplate moving after only owning our home for 2 years. We had sewage from a HOA owned pipe backup into the wall of my husbands home office (he works from home). This was in September of 2022, the pipe was not repaired until November of 2022. It is now February of 2023 and we are still missing an entire wall and our backyard is torn to pieces. But don't worry, if you leave your garage door open too long, you will have a fine within 24 hours.

    I live in the Castleford/Hearthstone Community in Hoffman Estates. On March 16, I contacted Customer Service to report that an animal had made a very large hole in the home directly next to me. A maintenance person was sent out the next day and reported that Critter Control should be called. NOTHING has been done for over 10 days. I contacted the President of the Board of Directors and he sent a note that basically said nothing and it appears that he refuses to escalate this and Customer Service has not responded when I asked when Critter Control will be out. Since this butts up to my home, I do not wish to have squirrels living in my attic. The person that lives at this home is a renter and goes out of the country frequently for work. He has been gone for several weeks and when I ask if the homeowner has been contacted I get no response. Does anyone at Associa do their job? This is just negligence by both the Board of Directors and Associa. And, the best answer came from upper management at Associa. They stated that they were directed to not speak with the homeowners. Do we not pay them????

They apparently dont know how to add over there becuase they are trying to chage me 60% for dues this year when the budget says the increase will be 10%. I did get thrugh to another employee Jasmine, and she either doesnt understand english or doesnt understand how to add and subtract because she added an additional 60% to my dues. The snow folks they use dont show up until the afternoon and DESTROY the lawns even though the snow poles are out to guide them. That is if they even do the driveways. They skip it alot if a car is in the drive. Sorry, you should still be plowing as much of the drive as possible. Not very helpful when you have to leave your house in the morning. They must have hired 5 year olds to trim the tress that, by the way did NOT need it, and now they all look slike sh*t. They also NEVER provide notice of work being done on the property. If someone is going to be working right outside my door or on the roof, I want to know before hand. Not a smart move for the management company. They are putting their contractors in danger. Stay as far away from this company as possible.

I messaged all those people and got some of them to pay. One simply said she needed an invoice that management wouldn't provide. I got management to send it and she paid. Essentially, I as the board member am doing what management should be doing. Another account has a balance of about $5,000. And the owner of the unit doesn't know what it's for so I asked management to explain the charge. It has been 2 months now and still no explanation in spite of me emailing them several times. Mind you this charge is from like 5 years ago. On top of this, this management company consistently tries to bill me for issues at the building and it's the reason I ran for the board. One time a leak originated on the 3rd floor, leaked to the 2nd, and ended up in my unit on the first. The plumber sent by management said the leak came from the 3rd floor but the management company sent me a bill and said it originated in my unit alone. Fast forward to today, and the management company is trying to do that again. They are trying to pin $4000 on to my account instead of the unit where the work was done. The board voted and we told management to place the charges on the unit where the work was done. I've been emailing management for 2 months asking if this has been done. At first, they claimed that they don't have the invoices yet, which was a lie because they had already sent them to me. Yesterday, they claimed that the minutes of the board meeting don't show such a vote ever took place. So in addition to being completely incompetent, they will also lie to unit owners and even the board president. I would steer clear of this company. What they need is a management company to manage their incompetence, not be providing management services. I'm going their job for them anyways.

My elderly stepdad, fell on the ice as he carefully attempted to throw out the garbage. He has Parkinson's , could not get up on his own after he fell on the ice. My mother called 911. The EMT found him shaking with a broken arm due to the fall on ice! EMT report stated he fell on ice! The Management office property manager , whom I do not care to mention her name, was rude when I called to inform her. Futhermore, she refused to take responsibility for the building negligence. very unprofessional behavior. Disrespectful towards the elderly. My stepdad needed surgery and rehab. Still in rehab. Seriously the State of Illinois should investigate Dewert Management for corruption and discrimination. Jeff Dewert will purposely claim that he did not receive your payments in the mail and charge you late fees even if you have proof that you sent it before the due dates. I believe that he purposely has fees paid via mail only for this reason as most HOAs operate online. He will micromanage your life while doing nothing to maintain the property. Multiple properties contain mold in their attics which falls on the HOAs responsibility to maintain and yet they still contain mold. He even at one point got aggressive with me when I was still a minor threatening "I wish I was 20 years younger so I can fight you." Is this acceptable behavior from a property manager? He made our lives a living hell. He constantly accused my family of various different offenses without any evidence whatsoever. If you get on his bad side (by not bending over backwards for him) you better hope there is no dispute between you and your neighbor because he will place any responsibility on you in a spiteful petty act of revenge. He will demand to enter your property even if you own your apartment and pay your mortgage. You will not have your property rights respected, if you refuse he will extort you with violations and other petty fees. I can and will write more if needed. Please heed my warning and stay away from this place and any properties managed by Jeff Dewert he is a corrupt tyrant, and he needs to be investigated for unfair housing practices, corruption, and discrimination. You'd think they would learn something from the reviews but no. Not sure how they are in business. It's literally an endless circle of zero help.
