Her incoming transition was…read moredifficult, as might have been expected. but the staff, especially Thomas, the Director, could not have been more helpful. He understood my wife's anxieties from the start, and assured me that he would oversee her comfort. In the first weeks my wife was confused, not sure why she found herself in a new home. But the staff, so considerate and warm, made her achieving her comfort much easier. Her idiosyncrasies were responded to, and she was gently guided towards the many activities and pleasures of living at Sage Glendale. My experience of the staff is that they are always ready to help, and smile often as they do their work. They got to know my wife quite quickly, and they seem to understand her, even in the confusion of her dementia. Geraldine is one of the med techs who frequently help out. Ditas is also always solve problems and seek solutions. I have called several times, and she and the others always are aware of my wife's whereabouts, and ready to discuss recent occurrences. My wife's needs are met with regularity. And Thomas is a very real, feeling person, who clearly brings himself to the job; he's experienced and maintains awareness of the needs of his staff as well as the residents. I can't praise him highly enough!!

The food was very good as was the overall facility. Unfortunately they changed Directors again and ultimately the focus changed from assisted living to directed living. The new regime decided that telling residents what to do and when was a viable approach. Obviously it isn't. While services declined from overworked staff, new staff signifantly degraded care and the atmosphere. All while management increased prices and schemed to find additional fees to charge. I will definitely move both family members when I can. Sad really. It was good, I can't recommend it any more. I am paying over15k per month for stress and frustration.

Contact the facility, by phone call or visit the website and setup an appointment for visit. 2. After visiting the area, admire not only the how large the facility is, but notice how things are arranged. Or that someone is always around to help. You can see what your family member, friend or acquaintance will do once they're inside. . 3. Relax and know that when they enter, will receive excellent care. With activities that help maintain or improve mental & physical health. Which will not only give you peace of mind, but improve their overall quality of life. Absolutely blown away by the care my mother has received here! Some places we looked at seemed like she would be just another body to make money from. I feel so comfortable letting the people at Glen Terra look after my mom. I'm also always pleased when I see how clean and well maintained her room and the facility are. We had my mom at another facility and I almost dreaded visiting because I felt so horrible about where my mom was staying. Now, I don't worry as much and I feel comforted when I get to visit. I am especially grateful to Terry who seems so involved with his staff and all of the clients. He's always so light-hearted and fun. He pays attention to the details - even knows my mother's likes and dislikes because he actually takes time to talk with her! I'm so impressed. My mother has Alzheimer's and this place is a safe environment for her and I don't worry about her wondering off due to her having a wrist band that sets off an alarm anytime she gets close to the door and alerts staff! They are unethical and are more concerned about making big money by only dealing with high dollar facilities that most Americans can't afford or "high and tight" projects such as Casa de Paloma where they can cram as many people in as possible and receive government subsidies. They have misused funds and have taken so many liberties with their non-profit status that it makes my head spin. Worst of all, they evict seniors - giving only the legal minimum notice so they can capitalize on a charity (Twelve Oaks Lodge) that was entrusted to them. I would not trust them to take care of anyone I love.

From day 1, Nancy, their social worker made sure my mom receives all the attention she needs from physical therapy to her diet requirements. Nancy, the social worker, facetimes our mother with us using her own cel phone and has been available after hours to answer my questions. Their chef gives our mom additional vegetables, avocado and banana (at our request), and even puts cinnamon on her pancakes the way she eats them at home. Callista, the Director of Nursing, responds to my every email requests immediately and makes sure my mom receives the care she needs Physical therapy helps her walk with her dementia (she is 90). Everytime I visit, there are at least 20 nurses and caretakers running around and helping patients. I do not agree with any negative review here. Dr. Tan, their psychiatrist has made sure my mom is not over medicated. She is cognizant for my mom to receive the proper drugs so she can be physically active

We have a love one who has been dropped while transferring her from room to room. The first time it happened she ended up in the ER. We just went to visit her and she was laying on the floor unconscious while the staff just stood around. We tried to complaint to the staff but their only response was "We are too busy". We just finished filing a complaint with the CA Department of health. If you are experiencing this please file a complain so we can shut this awful place.
