My daughter is 5 months she needs special formula and these people fail to let me know I need certain forms in order for her to continue to receive her formula. Instead they want to wait a couple days before her formula is due. Manager Marissa was the one who handled my call when I first informed them about the change. You have a manager title and fail to communicate about the forms I need for her upcoming months. Danny is also very unprofessional he decided to let me know my profile was very "messy and unorganized."

She showed us so much kindness from the beginning when I signed up and picked up my WIC card, following up with me and providing me with the information I needed while pregnant to anxiously waiting for me to birth my baby she held my hand through it all. We really appreciate you and will never forget all of the incredible breastfeeding tips and tricks you shared with us. Every time we had an appt/follow up and I had a question or issue with breastfeeding she knew exactly what to suggest. I would try it and just like magic my issue would be resolved. She always made me feel so loved, heard and supported. With each and every interaction I could always feel that she cared so much about our success. Now we are moving onto introducing solids and she continues to set me up for success by sharing her knowledge about what foods, when and how to introduce them to my baby. I know we couldn't have gone this far without you!! I'm so sad that we will no longer be talking monthly because you've become family, so I still plan on keeping in touch with you. I will never forget you and you will always have such a special place in my heart. I hope you know how much value you have brought to my breastfeeding journey and to our entire community!! You are truly an invaluable asset to all of us!! We love you Carmen!!

Another 'hidden gem' in Los Angeles.. Well.. it is for me at least. It's a nice little surprise to…read morefind in the Highland Park / Mt. Washington area of LA, that's for sure. As a youngin', my parents would drop my sister and I off at the day camp that was being ran up at Carlin G. Smith Recreation Center. This place basically helped me map out Los Angeles as a kid. We went on local field trips every other day and almost 1 weekly 'big' trip (Raging Waters, Knott's, Universal, etc.). The local field trips were more or less to the free pools throughout LA or a beach.. basically something with water involved.. From the Griffith Park pool to the OG Echo Park pool right by the freeway entrance.. Zuma Beach to Huntington to Santa Monica and every beach in between. It's very picturesque with plenty of shade / trees and you can find a lot of various creatures (humans and animals alike) occupying the habitat. The park is 'layered'.. no real flatness to it other then the 3 sections it contains.. from the very bottom you walk up a steep little trail to the first level.. which has a simple basketball court and in a sandbox sits a stand-alone nothing else around it tire swing! Yeah! Walk up some stairs to the the next level which has plenty of shade along with a decent sized playground. This level was more or less a litter box for all the wildlife up here.. somewhat regularly a child walked out of the sandbox with poop attached to his or her shoe or smudged somewhere on their clothes. Finally the third and last level of this little world has an actual recreation center which is two stories along with another decent sized playground. I remember the bus that would come pick us up couldn't fit up Avenue 46 so it'd wait at the bottom of the hill for the entire camp to walk down. Same would happen after a trip, we'd get dropped off at the bottom and have to walk up through bushes, trees, rocks, sand and dirt in sandals and swim trunks. Good times. I recall drinking lots of water and sweating both up and down this thing, so if you want a good workout.. this is your place bruh!! Anyways, the entire park itself isn't "huge", yet walking up through each level you'd swear you just went through Runyon Canyon. Not really.. but with less crowds, wide open spaces and a tranquil environment.. Carlin G. Rec Center and the park it resides in are a place to check out, hike, bring your dog or just relax. Peacefulness in LA is hard to find.. So I went and found it for you. You're welcome.

She graduated in 2015, and at that time I gave a 5-star review because I noticed big positive changes in her. I thought it would be nice to give an update since it has been close to 7 years since she graduated. Prior to the Dream Center, it was difficult for me to be around her because she had so much anger and she just wanted to argue with me about anything and everything. Since the Dream Center, she has been a pleasure to be around and not once in 7 years have we argued, or had even so much as a disagreement of words. She lived with me for the first year after the Dream Center. She was quick to find a job and began chasing her dream of becoming a dog groomer. She was 24 at this time, and prior to this, had never had a job but once for a couple of months. She began dating a boy from our church (who also attended the Dream Center - yes this is how they met) and 6 months later they were engaged, and 6 months after that married. I was concerned when she got married and moved into an apartment for the first time. I figured they would be coming to me asking for money to help them with the rent. But in 7 years they haven't asked me for a cent. A couple years later, they she said they were looking to buy a house. Honestly, I thought it was a pipe dream of theirs because they didn't' have good credit (bad from previous life). But God worked miracles and they bought a house only 10 minutes from where I live. Again, a couple years later, they announced they were going to open a mobile dog grooming business. Again, I didn't' think they could do it because the truck was over $100K. I suggested they consider a store because it would be a smaller investment for them to start up. But God had other plans, and they opened their mobile dog grooming business on February 14, 2020. Yes, February 2020. A month before the Covid shutdowns in California. But once again, God had a plan for them, it was mobile grooming because when all the brick and mortars closed, they were able to operate and within two months they were turning away business. It was also about this time that they announced they were having a baby, and on October 25, 2021 Camille was born. During these 7 years, Ariel and her husband have been very involved in the church they attend, and serve regularly on the worship team (Ariel lighting and her husband on the drums). They also regularly attend Celebrate Recovery which is a wonderful program for anyone struggling with hurts, hang-ups and habits. The Dream Center turned my daughter's life around. It changed her, for the better. She jokes occasionally and says she was brainwashed at the Dream Center. It wasn't easy for her, lots rules and structure. She had to sacrifice a lot of what she thought was important to her. But she doesn't regret it and has a lot of fond memories of the friendships that she formed while there. I highly recommend the Dream Center to anyone who is struggling in life. There is no denying the miracles that God did and continues to work in my daughter's life. Without the Dream Center, Ariel would have never understood how to have a relationship with Jesus, and have faith in God, and hope again. She didn't see a future before the Dream Center. But when she left, she saw all the possibilities and she went after them. I am excited to see where God leads her life next. I know there is more greatness to come. Thank you Dream Center for turning around my daughter life.

I had never heard of this place before but it's truly an amazing place! The name is very fitting for the amazing work that is done here. Their store was filled with brand new items (many popular brands) fitting every style and size. They also include necessities such as backpacks, shoes, toilet paper, etc and the rule is YOU CAN TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU NEED! Usually there's a limit but not here, they provide you with trash bags and you can take as much as needed. They also have an area for groceries, toys, hot food, and so much more! It was truly amazing working here and seeing so many families being helped. There were so many volunteers and so much resources being passed out, I've never see anything like it. I recommend this place for anyone who is having a tough time, facing homelessness, job loss, etc to seek this place out. They also help with finding housing and schooling. Such a valuable place to the city of Los Angeles!

First of all, it goes without saying this is an older Y. The building itself has probably seen better days, but the condition of the courts, workout equipment, and weights are all great and just what you need to get a workout in. I primarily use the treads and free weights, and have never had an issue waiting for others at 7pm on a weekday. I also want to commend the staff member who showed us around the facilities for the first time. He was helpful and seemed genuinely interested in getting us on board as members. In Glendale you either get boutique fitness classes or overpriced muscle gyms. If you are looking for a reliable, affordable option, I can't recommend the Glendale Y enough. I'm not sure what capacity was like pre-pandemic days, but since we've started going last week it has always been populated but not crowded. Masks are also not required but it's quite easy to space out because - well - there's a ton of space in every room!
