Visited the LB AL Thrift store in August and was super impressed. I come down here to visit family quite often. Never seen a thrift store so organized, professional, with such high quality items, both designer clothes and expensive decor. I've been shopping at the wrong thrift stores apparently. Everyone was super nice and helpful and friendly, and I bought some jewelry, purses that I love. I strongly recommend it to others but just be sure to visit when they are open. read more

I LOVE this place! Friendly volunteers who donate their time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The main floor is nice, but the real "gem" is the "Boutique" on the second floor. Very nice clothes for very little money! Name brands, couture and jewelry guarantee something for everyone. Always find great finds here, and prices are very good! The designer section is especially good, and I always find amazing brands thanks to the location and casual beach wear. I have to agree, the staff here is a hit or miss. Some employees are super kind & helpful, others seem snippy & just want to enforce rules in harsh ways. I've encountered both. Shout out to their baby section, I have found absolute gems for my nephew. Also - this place does require masks. Just fyi, there are disposable masks behind the cashier and they'll give you one by request. read more

Visiting the land of the super rich one has to check out the thrift! Summertime you hit the 1/2 sale and walk with a bunch of good stuff. The ladies who work here are all very supportive and nice- One thing: there's a boutique upstairs with special stuff, there's a Specific protocol with going up there & the rules are not clear. I thrift all over OC. Assistance League shops are my favorite. This Laguna Beach shop ranks at the bottom. They're open 3 days a week. Granted, they're volunteers. But so are the rest. Tustin AL open Tuesday - Sat, one Sunday a month and til 7pm on Thursday. Hard workers! Orange shop in the circle open 5 days. Same with Irvine, Santa Ana and San Clemente. And where are the TONS of Christmas donations? How come the back garage isn't hosting the holiday sales they used to? Are volunteers taking the good stuff home? The shop has a few ornaments and Knick knacks. Where are the trees, garlands, tablecloths, lights, beautiful things? Something isn't right here. Where did the donations go? read more

I'm so surprised by all the negative reviews! I had such a great time today with my mother! I'm always bummed out whenever I come here and they're closed. So when I came today, I was super stoked. Because of Covid, the lady at the front of the gate, wrote down our names and gave us hand sanitizer (nice!). We were told we had 30 minutes to shop. While I was checking out the apparel section, my mom was looking at the home goods. I was really trying not to buy anything but I ended up finding some cool stuff. I mostly found items on their 2nd floor where they have more "high end" merchandise.. We found this gorgeous elegant black Ralph Lauren evening gown for $15. And since all black clothing were 50% off, the dress ended up being $7.50! I also found brand new Brandy Melville top for $2.50. I'm not even kidding, I was shocked. My mom also found some cool pizza plates($6) , salad bowls ($45), stainless steel pots, etc. They also had these bizarre dinner plate sets which I regret not taking pictures of but I do have a picture of some weird champagne glass sets I thought was fun. The service was great too. Since we were looking at the plates and pots, the ladies in the front held our items for us. And they were so efficient! They were calculating and packing everything while we were shopping. I had so much fun shopping here. I have no idea if we were in there for more than 30 minutes but they never called our names. But they did call like 2 names while I was shopping because the line was forming outside. read more

I used to love this thrift store but I agree with all the negative reviews regarding the unfriendliness of staff. It's a shame they don't allow service dogs (seems discriminatory) they've also now added anyone with a baby or child to the group of individuals not allowed to shop in this store. I grew up in this town and AL has, thankfully, been around forever! Always friendly, clean and great items to find! It's a treat that they have a "high end/designer" section where you can really find some goodies! They also put so much energy into restocking the store for every holiday. Need a Christmas or Hanukkah decoration or gift? They have it in time. Thanksgiving? Dishes, placemats etc all for the season. Halloween..it's a must! It's ongoing. The other part I really appreciate is the organized drop off of items donated. I donate throughout the year. There are designated days and times. Easy to pull up and park in the back lot, be greeted by the staff, they take care of you immediately and offer you a receipt for a tax write off if you wish. AL is so different from many of the disappearing Thrift Shops. It is deeply cared for by the residents of Laguna, (hey, it can become a gab fest with old friends you run into) and also by the VOLUNTEERS who donate their time to keep it thriving. The lady at toys area, short hair with glass so I went with my two boys on 16/2/20 as soon as we got to the toy area she step in with mad face said you guys have to put stuff back blah blah and Yelled at my 5 years old said No! When he tried to pickup a toy....and stand there the whole time organized stuff with an attitude. True what they say about this place... "It's the Nordstrom of Thrift Stores." The first time we came upon this place all of the Halloween items were an extra off and I was able to purchase dome Halloween treats (stickers). I got really lucky the first time as well because I was able to take home three trendy yet versatile vests at $8 each. All excellent condition. I usually love shopping here, which is why I'm still giving it 3 stars, but I recently had a very disappointing experience. I brought my support dog with me (wearing her vest, so it was obvious she was working). Several employees saw me shopping and commented on how cute she was. Eventually, another employee (possibly a manger?) came up to me and said they didn't allow pets. They did have signage outside saying pets weren't allowed, but it specified that support animals were welcome. I pointed out her vest and said that my dog was a support animal, to which the employee responded by asking me if I "required her to shop." I was shocked. I said that she supported me, to which the employee sighed and told me that she'd allow it, but "pets" weren't allowed and that I need to keep her contained (my dog was on a leash by my side already). I felt so embarrassed that I put my items back and left. As people may now, no one is allowed to ask what a support animal is for/if they are "needed" for this activity. It was just a very embarrassing, unsettling experience. read more

I found a nice complete set of china here. But it was 4 pm, when they close when I was ready to purchase. One of the ladies told me I Couldnt buy anything because they are closing. I thought she was joking but she wasn't. She told me I'd have to leave. I then told another woman there that I wanted to spend $100 so the stayed open past 4 pm so I could spend my money. I do a lot of thrifting. In fact I might almost say it's an obsession of mine. I came to this assistance league thrift store close to closing but wanted to make a quick run through the store. I picked up a piece of monkey pod and headed toward the back of the store. A lady said, "um, we're closed so you should go over to the cash register." It was before closing but I do understand that they wanted to wind down to close the shop. However, as innocuous as her statement may seem, it was as if I had completely inconvenienced her by coming into the shop at all. I decided that none of my finds were worth bothering to buy but I did overhear the cashier being rather rude to another customer. Overall I would say the prices are probably ok, the amount of vintage inventory is average, but you have to endure interacting with a bunch of self important ladies who are rather rude. If you like feeling like you are a total burden to the people working where you shop then this is the place for you. read more

This is a great store for clothing because the stock turns over so frequently. The prices are reasonable and are set on a two teer system where selected items are in a boutique section with various prices and the remaining inventory is priced at set levels based on a chart behind the cash registers. The women who work here are all very friendly and helpful. The entire store has a community feel which I really enjoy every time I visit. The people working there were really friendly and we found some treasures!!!
