My visit here was super fruitful! I was searching for decorative pieces for my home and found a beautifully painted ceramic angel for $10, though it had minor chips, which were not too visible. I also found a steal decorative shelf in great condition for $7. All the ladies working here were super helpful and friendly. Great spot for some unique finds. read more

Uncomfortable experience. Was not greeted upon walking in as two older women continued in conversation behind desk. As I walked past them, one of the women said "we close in 7 minutes so make it quick quick!" In a snarky tone and continued to stare me down. So I turned around "quick quick" and left. Maybe because I was a younger female amongst a store of older females that I was treated in a parental way. Whatever it may be...I don't think I should have been talked to this way as a potential customer. A nice "Hey, welcome in! Just to let you know, we close in 7 minutes. I have both donated and shopped at the Bargain Box. This location in particular has that "boutique" feel, you can see the love that goes into this re-sale shop especially how they merchandise their items. Very easy to find anything from a silk plant to a complete outfit, both of which I have purchased! The ladies who work there are all volunteer and always make customers feel welcome and the proceeds go to good causes. I only have a few resale shops I go to and this is at the top of the list! read more

Haven't actually been inside, I called around 5-6 times within the hours of 2 PM- 4PM, and nothing, so I drove right away (5PM) , and the sign on the door says closed for today, be back tomorrow (tuesday @10:30 AM) I came here to post their hours (that I read in the Website, which says open from Wed-Friday (11-4PM) Although now I'm confused because it's a Tuesday tomorrow, and according to the sign, they are open at 10:30, which is 30 min earlier and also a day earlier than what is printed on the website.... as well as their Yelp hours saying they are open until 4 Am!!!!! So, as much as I probably will like the store, I dislike their SUPER confusing hours and their lack of being able to contact the store (although I know today is closed, I'm surprised their phone doesn't have a prerecorded voicemail that lists hours and days of operation/or post on yelp/ something???) read more

You never know what "treasure" you might find. The store is updated each week. There is always a great selection of clothing for men and women. The shelves are full of decor items, along with housewares, dining items, and glassware. The ladies at the register are friendly and happy to help. Be sure to come between 1:00 and 4:00, Tuesday through Saturday. There is a parking lot as well as parking on the street. read more

Anybody that hasn't been in the Bargain Box Thrift Store lately needs to come in and see how they've redone it. Very nice cabinets in the front of the store with merchandise that is beautifully displayed. The clothes are really nice and the sales are wonderful. You just never know what you're going to find there. And the volunteers are always helpful and smiling. read more

This place is great!! After reading good reviews, I actually stopped by today to see if there was anything I wanted to buy. I eventually bought a gray pencil skirt by Ann Taylor for just $7!!! Ann Taylor directly sells pencil skirt ranging from $40 to $90 ; what a big save of money. Not only cheap, but the skirt was completely NEW!! I have other pencil skirts in various colors, and was looking to buy a gray one. Today was surely my lucky day, and will definitely wear it to work on Monday! Will definitely be coming back to Bargain Box!! read more

I have found so many bargains at this store. Not just clothes but books on the bestsellers list, crystal & china along with purses & jewelry. Why didn't someone tell me about his place sooner? We were on vacation exploring the area when we went into the Bargain Box. The merchandise was set up in order, everything very clean and most reasonably priced. All of the volunteers were extremely helpful. After visiting the store I got home and realized I had lost my pedometer, which I had clipped to my clothing as we had been walking and I was keeping track of our miles. I remembered trying on clothing in the dressing room and hearing something drop, but when I looked I couldn't find anything. I called the shop several times and asked if they'd found the pedometer, but after telling me several times it was not found, they said they'd take my phone number and let me know if it showed up. Sure enough, after getting back home on the east coast, I got a call from them saying they found the pedometer. I asked if they would mail it back to me as this particular model was discontinued and I was unable to replace it. I told them I would send them cash to cover shipping costs and they could just keep the balance as a donation to the business. True to their word, I just received my pedometer in perfect condition. Thanks to the dedicated and caring workers at the shop. I am most appreciative of the fact they took time out of their busy day to go to the post office, purchase a mailer, and get this back to me. Next time we are in CA, we will definitely make another trip to the Bargain Box. read more

In the heat of the summer, the Bargain Box Thrift Store, is a cool place to be. Not only is it an air condition drop off spot but the music entices you to stay awhile and check out the top of the line clothing , art and house wares. The unexpected joys of being a volunteer there last week, brought in a lovely lady who willingly entertained us with her musical spoons. Yes, two spoons which she slapped on the meat of her thigh and soon the rhythm got us going!! She sang us a lively song much to my utter delight and made my day at the Bargain Box. The Bargain Box Thrift Store in San Clemente is an amazing place to find incredible deals...clothing of all types, including designer items, for men, women, and children. They also have a great home decor section that often includes collectibles and antiques. The housewares and linens departments can help you fill in whatever you need at home. I especially love the boutique because it has specialty items such as designer purses, sunglasses, shoes and evening wear...sometimes, they even have wedding dresses! The jewelry cases are full of costume jewelry, but you can also find some great deals on fine jewelry. I like to follow them on FACEBOOK and on craigslist because I get a "heads up" on what has recently been donated to sell. The sales are incredible and the staff is so friendly and helpful! I highly recommend a trip to San Clemente on "the Rodeo Drive of thrift stores as the O.C. Register calls it. So many great store but this one is by far the best! read more
