I have gone to Jared twice before for jewelry appraisals for insurance purposes, so felt comfortable going to him again with my mom and aunt. He went through about 50 pieces of my late grandmother's jewelry and helped us identify quality pieces v. her costume jewelry and then gave us appraisals on the valuable pieces. He was very knowledgeable about the materials, was fun to work with and we learned a lot about the jewelry during the process. Jared Anderson is a credentialed gemologist and experienced appraiser who was also a delightful man to work with when he appraised both gold and gem jewelry that were my mom's and for which we needed appraisal done to establish value for the attorneys settling her estate after her passing this summer. We were referred to Jared by both a respected goldsmith and happy client. He responded quickly when we reached out to set the appointment, one can schedule with him at his office on the 11th floor of the Banner Bank building in downtown Boise and he also schedules home visits I think if you're don't want to go to the office, and the office was easy to access. One can stay, we did, as Jared does the evaluation for appraisal or one can leave the items to pick up in however much time is needed to do the appraisal. (Ours took 2 hours "minus" as I recall and time will vary depending on the number or complexity of items.) Jared explained the appraisal process and his findings as he went along and when the work was completed had the documented appraisal of the items, including photos, in my husband's email in box within a couple of hours of the time we left his office. Appraiser Jared Anderson recently appraised my wedding set. He was professional, friendly and extremely efficient. He thoroughly explained the process and the report I'd receive and be able to provide my insurance company. I waited while he examined my rings and diamonds and wrote his report. It took approximately one hour. Well worth the wait and the very fair price he charged. I've always wondered if I were to leave jewelry at a shop would diamonds be switched and I wouldn't know.
