Nnot so impressed. The place is good, but the service was strictly ok. I signed up for a service that was $125. I went there and found that I could not do that as I had a party to attend before my face would recover. So my service was changed to another one. When paying the bill I realize that the service was not changed but upgraded to one that costs $175 and nobody thought of getting it approved by me. Good that I had the Yelp 50% coupon .. so I would have paid $62 .. now I was seeing a bill of ~$85. Seeing my surprised face .. the beautician bought it down to $70. 1star was because they did warn me about not getting the original treatment. My face looks ok . nothing special that says I got a $175 treatment (;-))... Actually, I have a nice red pimple on my cheek for the past 3-4 days. The facial also started a good 30 mins after the scheduled time. So overall no great shakes. Will not be going there again. Thanks to Yelp special I did not pay full price. read more

Called this morning when they opened and they fit me in at noon. This was my first time using Aspira, and I got Nadia. I only had my eyebrows waxed, but she did an excellent job! Other reviews on here said that Nadia is easy to talk to and friendly, and that's an understatement! I'm a pretty quiet and reserved person, but within 30 seconds of meeting her, I felt like she was a long lost best friend, and we were chatting away. She has a way of putting you at ease while doing the waxing, which is very nice! I was having such a good time talking with her that I kind of wish I was getting more things waxed, LOL. I have been waxing ever since I have had hair on my body and always thought my old-school waxer was the best there was. A while back, I decided I wanted to have my first brazilian. What ensued, during the appointment, was a full blown argument about the definition of a brazilian bikini wax. I wanted her to take everything off (I mean EVERYTHING...we won't get into details) and she would NOT do it. I understand that trends come and go and she probably was just going by what she knew from when she got her esthetician's license over twenty years ago, but to me this was crazy! I wanted something that she simply could not do for me, for some odd moral reason. Completely spent, I went on Yelp and read reviews for Aspira, specifically about Nadia. I decided to make an appointment, and I am so glad I did because having Nadia for the last six months has changed my life. No joke. Not only is she friendly, funny, and possesses the qualities of a therapist, she can wax like nobody's business. Her brazilian is nearly painless, and takes barely any time. She does a great upper lip wax as well, and I recently had a facial with her (also highly recommended!). I truly could go on and on about Nadia, but then you would just be sitting here reading my review instead of making an appointment with her. But really, do it! So basically, visiting Nadia a few months ago was the best decision i've made in a long time! My first visit I was pretty nervous, but it was quick and virtually painless all things considered. She makes it very comfortable. By the time 15min has passed, you've had a great conversation and you're perfectly waxed where it counts. Aspira is clean and has great products as well. I've been going to Aspira for microdermabrasions with Nadia. The results I have experienced are amazing. There is almost no down time after the treatment, and you get so much more than just a simple microdermabrasion treatment. Nadia really takes care of you. She listens to your concerns so she can focus on the problem areas more than just a once over, and you also get a complete facial with the package too (extraction if you want). Many people don't realize how effective and inexpensive microdermabrasion can be. I learned the hard way by trying fraxel laser treatments. I went to another spa and payed $2,000 for a package of three fraxel treatments and saw no results. You can't just go to any esthetician either. You have to find the right one as well. I went to another esthetician in SF, and I broke out like crazy afterward. I found Nadia on Yelp and have since only been to see her. I'm in the process of moving right now and I'm really sad that I won't be in the area to see Nadia on a regular basis. She's helpful too even though I'm moving. She gave me a list of recommendations for people she has trained with who work in the area in which I will be living so I can keep getting quality microdermabrasions. read more

I've used Linda for waxing and Lydia for microdermabrasions for over 10 years. They are the best in what they do and no one can match their skills. Linda is very meticulous and careful and uses best quality products and techniques. Lydia's microdermabrasions are so much more thorough and effective than anyone else I've seen. She has the skill of a cosmetic surgeon when it comes to dexterity and precision in dealing with your skin. They are also the nicest women to get to know and I always look forward to my appointments. This the first time yelp has really steered me wrong. I went here after yelping because I am new to the bay area and needed my eyebrows waxed. I went four days ago and still have scabs on my eyelids. The wax did not seem temperature hot so I think it was not good quality wax. I get my eyebrows done every two weeks and this has not happened to me ever. Also, the shape of my eyebrows are all screwed up now. They were very nice and maybe bikini is their specialty but my eyebrows had a bad experience. read more

I have two teenage boys who have severe acne issues. I first brought them to see Lydia in June hoping she can do something to clear their skin. My older son is a senior in high school and he was scheduled to take his senior picture in August. I asked Lydia to do everything she can to clear his skin before his portrait appointment. She only had 2 months to work a miracle and indeed a miracle was performed. Through extractions, chemical peels, and products, his skin was totally cleared. I was so amazed at the results. Even the scaring was just minimal. My son is now so much of a believer in keeping his skin clean he is using the products diligently every morning and evening. My younger son's skin have cleared up nicely as well. It's really rare to see two teenage boys having such good cleaning habits. I can see having acne free skin is very important to them. HOLY WOW! Today marked my second Brazilian EVER and talk about a difference. Some might say, "It's your second time. It's ALWAYS less painful your second time." However, I don't think the pain/experience barrier could be that great. Nadia was AWESOME. She's a super welcoming individual who radiates care, joy and lots of humor. My first experience (not with Aspira) was the most pain I have EVER endured in my entire life. The pain was so great I found myself spewing cuss words out of my mouth I never even knew existed in my vocabulary and the job wasn't even that clean! But this was completely different. I was much more at ease besides the occasional utterance of "Holy...." (Definitely a lot more PG-13 than my first experience) AND the job was completely clean...meaning no missed/random hairs! She talked me through the process and tried to make me as comfortable as possible. She even complimented me on my eyebrows which always makes me happy because I've always done them myself. Anyways, yes, brazilians hurt. The pain never goes completely away but it lessens. Aspira is just a great place to get it because it's so relaxing and calming. I went here for an underarm and bikini wax before a vacation a few months ago, and Tatiana did a great job! There was almost no wait, and the room was clean and comfortable. I told Tatiana it was my first bikini wax ever, and she made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the process. LINDA IS THE BEST and the only person allowed to touch my face. I've been seeing her for the last four years and she just gets better and better. I see her for two things: brows&lip wax and facials. When I started seeing her, my brows didn't look so good they were short and not very symmetrical but with time Linda perfected them and now its the number one thing everyone compliments me about as soon as they see me. Very over due review. About a month ago I had a bikini wax done by Nadia. It was the second one I had ever had in my life. My first was when I was 14 and I had never experienced so pain much in my life. After that experience I chose to learn how to do my own bikini waxes. After 15 years of the occassionally successful self waxing attempts and many more botched, painful, bloody, ingrown hair causing waxing jobs I finally decided to attempt a professional one for my trip to Vegas. Well thank the universe for Nadia! I'm not going to say the waxing did not hurt, but truly minimal pain. I think it was Nadia's magic touch, wax she used, and her emotional hand holding. My bikini line looked awesome for the next two weeks (I have thick dark coarse hair so two weeks is fantastic). It's still barely growing back so thank goodness for waxing in general, but the the wax job was seemless. I had no irritation, no ingrown hairs, or anything that would make you think my bikini line and I went at it like Ron and the Situation in Jersey Shore. Hands down Linda is the only person I trust with my eyebrows. I have been seeing her for over seven years and she has transformed my skinny over-plucked eyebrows into true beauties that I receive compliments on weekly. I go to school out of state and she does such a phenomenal job that I will wait until I can see her to have them waxed. Not only has Linda helped transform my eyebrows by my acne as well.
