I decided to switch the other 2 properties because Waste Connections & Waste Management prices kept going up & up. A younger man came to our door at 6:30pm on a fri night and stated he worked for Aspen and was trying to get additional customers signed up in the neighborhood offering a $38 per quarter all in price. I asked how long the promotional price would be good he stated one year. Then i asked how much after that, he stated $48 per quarter all in. He asked if we would like to sign up, I stated yes, he took all my information and then asked for me to enter my credit card. This man was someone just knocking on my door and I could not verify he actually worked for Aspen and the website he was asking me to put my credit card in did not mention Aspen Waste on it. I stated I would be happy to sign up, but I need to verify he worked for the company before giving out my credit card card. I called the service line but of course it was 630 at night so they were gone. I left a message stating the person saying The contacted me and asked them to call me back. I stated I would like to sign up, but I did not want to give out my credit card information not knowing who this person was and the website he wanted me to enter it into on his phone did not say Aspen Waste. The person who called me back stated the only way I could get the "door knocker price." was to sign up with him I explained the situation carefully and stated I was not comfortable giving my credit card information to him that night, but I would gladly give it to them now. She said I would have to pay the full contract for if I wanted to sign up now I asked if he could come back and she said they are no longer in the neighborhood. I then contacted the customer service manager for St. Louis Kim and explain the situation to her. She stated she cannot give me the door knocker price, I would now need to pay regular price. I did not consider that very fair or very good customer service . So they did not gain another customer very disappointed. But looking at other reviews shown here it looks like maybe I shouldn't sign up with them anyhow. read more

Horrible Customer Service along with horrible drivers who cant even get out the truck to PICK UP THE GARBAGE THEY SPILLED. It's like your a prisoner to them since the city has contracted them for waste pick up. Reported a speeding trash truck driver a while back, today I contacted aspen Belleville office female didn't really want to hear my complaint which was new driver today didn't pick trash up on this side of street and was not sure how to go down other streets. I watched from door he came off side street and left. If people don't pay bill you collect cans so why not collect the trash properly. I'm going to contact Fairview Heights mayor as well read more

Very happy with my residential service, good pricing, always on time, and promptly pick up large items when called for reasonable price.

When we initially started with aspen we were happy with the service, however in recent months we noticed that service has declined dramatically. Yard waste pick-up was missed on several occasions and we had to call and request them to come pick up the yard waste, even though they were picking up other's in the neighborhood. There was never any accountability from Aspen. The customer service is horrible and navigating their website is difficult. When we decided to switch services to another company with cheaper rates and better customer service we were never told we would not be refunded the amount we had paid for the partial billing cycle. If you cancel a company due to continued poor service you should be entitled to a refund for services not rendered. Horrible company and I will continue to warn friends, neighbors and family to avoid them and choose another company. read more

Once again missed pick ups at my business. They don't seem to care at all that they make operating my small business difficult and quite frankly the ladies in the office are rude and unapologetically ignorant when you try to explain how difficult they make operating. I just want my trash picked up on the days we've agreed to and that I pay for. Shouldn't be this difficult. read more

Everyone else's garbage cans got picked up (which were HALF in the snow) we were kind and put it RIGHT where the robotic arm could GET it and they drove on by! I was even out there shoveling! We are on the INTERSECTION of WARRENSBURG and BERKSHIRE! AWFUL company! But we have no choice anymore. read more

So far, I've had no issues directly with Aspen Waste. Our monthly amount is cheaper than I paid with Waste Management by over $50+ and I've had minimal communications with customer service-which I prefer because it means no problems nor issues to speak of. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ASPEN WASTE!!!!!!! THEY BILL YOU FOR SERVICES YOU DONT RECEIVE!!!!! I signed up for recycling from Aspen in May. They dropped off a recycle bin to put our recycling waste in. They have billed us for the services and a hefty surcharge which we've paid from May through July. They have still not picked up our waste. That is 3 months of billing is for a service they are not adhering to. To make matters worse they WILL NOT return my phone calls. I have left four messages on their answering machine over the past two weeks and not once have I received a phone call. I finally got a live person this morning and the customer service person said she could adjust my bill to take July off and said that was all she was authorized to do since she has no proof I called - basically called me a liar. When I told her I was cancelling the service she came back and literally said "I have been given authorization to credit you back to May because we were losing a customer ". Really??? Then the supervisor got on the phone and assured me they would pick up our recycle waste today. It is now 8:40pm and the recycle waste is still at the end of my driveway. It is so aggravating dealing with this. Not only did the insult my integrity they are not fulfilling a promise made today. Oh and their website says they are open 24 hours. The 24 hour part I don't care about but this company is out to bill you for services you do not receive. read more

I also agree to ZERO stars! DO NOT give them your card information. They conviently came up with an extra $320 on a dumpster rental. Which we were never informed of and just charged the card we had on file! I still don't understand how that is even less legal.The customer service supervisor is absolutely atrocious. The local business account rep was courteous and even made an onsite visit but called back a month after winning the service contract with lowest rate to say the waste weighed too much and they had to charge us over 75% more for service. They did agree to cancel the contract but not to refund container delivery charge to help offset the wasted time and expense. read more

Trash bill dated Dec 20th came yesterday...trash can repossessed today..REALY...$44. bill...they will bring it back for $15 extra....,,trash man embarressed big truck pulled up thought we were getting a delivery...they must really be hurting for $$. I wish I could give them a zero star rating. Whoever their "regional manager" Nicole is she is the last person I would want speaking to customers. New home buyers we called to get service since this what our landlord used with no problems. So Nicole proceeds to start this process and notices there is a bill due at this address well she says we are liable for those charges before we can start service. WHAT!? She doesn't believe that we are new homeowners but the previous resident and we are LYING to her. Mind you I have called waste management and republic services and was told Aspen has the contract. She flat out refused service to me and my wife. We had to call the person we were buying the house from to call Aspen to verify our story. I had this company for a couple of years. Started out fine, but over time they started sending out bills later and later. It got to the point where I was having to pay a late fee every time I got my bill cause the bill came after it was due. It got to the point where I realized I was paying almost $400 a year for trash and recycling. I would call them up and try to talk to them about it, but they would just say that the bill is still due regardless of when I get it. Considering I only have a couple bags of trash a month, I decided to drop them. Save your money and your sanity and go with someone else. read more

I have had service with Aspen for over 6 years. I purchased a new couch last week and laid new flooring in my living room. The plastic wrap from my couch would not fit in the can they provided, so I filled that with my regular trash and put the large amount of plastic wrap in a "tall kitchen size" trash can. I received a call from Aspen saying their driver claimed I had 2 84-gallon bins out front and wanted to go over my service limits. I told the woman I did not have 2 84-gallon bins in front of my home and I would be happy to send a photo via email of what was out there. I also explained why there was extra and that I do not normally have that much...as noted in the fact I've been a loyal client for over 6 years with no issues. I was told I was lying and that they have to believe their drivers' stories and reminded that we would need to go over their limitations. Kelly with customer service was condescending and rude. chose to argue and say I was being dishonest despite me offering to send proof, and could have cared less when I told her I was going to switch service to a different provider. The second woman I spoke with later in the day to actually cancel service also didn't care to keep me as a customer and didn't bother to ask why I was canceling. Good riddance. Waste Management is cheaper and reliable without all the drama and lazy, crybaby trash collectors. read more

Aspen customer- pickup/services is the worst! From Management Terry in Illinois region, to Management Kate in Missouri region.. There prices are more than other services.. The customer services speaks alot about your company, they don't care if you were missed twice for pickup! I called three times. I asked to speak with management, well she told me, it human error ma, it happens. No she will not follow up on it, to why it was missed! Like or you serious lady.. The company will not grow without costumers dear! The one thing i absolutely hate is to pay for bad services. I have other choices or did you forget that! I used this company for my business. Had their service for 3+ years and the monthly bill started at $44 per month and continued to increase, all the way up to $68 per month...and that was for a bi-weekly frequency. More than a 30 percent increase. They not only serviced my business, but a few others in the same plaza. With that said, if they were interested in keeping their cost down, I would have thought that it would have occurred to them to pick up the other businesses on the same day as mine...but no, lets drive there multiple times per week. They could have easily serviced my account on the same day as the others, saving themselves and the customers. After learning that I was a victim of their "auto renewal", I satisfied the 9 months remaining on the contract, I continued to pay, they made a mediocre attempt at picking up my trash on the contracted day. At the end of the 9 month period, I finally was able to cancel. Then I received a $75 bill for them to collect their trash receptacle. This is aggravating and laughable all at the same time. Why would I pay them to pick up their property? I'm not and I won't. They've since sent it to collections, accruing interest. The management at Aspen is a bunch of unrealistic hacks. Who charges someone to collect their own belongings? Moreover, who pays? read more

The 'supervisor' had no desire at ALL to try to keep me on as customer when I spoke of going to someone else for being disgruntled! Whoever promoted the supervisor needs to be fired!!! She had NO customer service skills at all and just wanted to argue with me on everything. Also, they TAKE YOUR MONEY first, and then ask questions later. I was shocked that I got an OVER DUE payment notice for time I didnt even use. Can we say, deceptive??? People, you will get NO positive customer service from these guys. Awful company. Its sad because the garbage collectors themselves actually do a great job but the people who are the representatives, especially their supervisor, treats the customer themselves WORSE than the garbage they collect. I've had Aspen Waste at my house in Belleville, IL for a couple years. Due to my lease expiring and me moving to a city that has a contracted waste removal company for my trash I had to cancel Aspen's service. I called and gave them notice of this about 2 weeks prior. From this experience, I guess this was a mistake. It seemed like once you give them notice that you have to cancel their service they give you "trashy" service. I had some items, that would fit in the trash container, not picked up by the company. I requested a manager, and a couple days later she calls me with an attitude. I've never received service like this before. The strange thing is, I recommended this company to a co-worker a year ago; I wish I never did. I have had 3 times where they missed garbage...one incident where half the garbage can was emptied. Do not use Aspen. The only nice thing I can say about them is they have nicer trash carts, but horrible customer service. read more
