I have been living here a few years. The office was pleasant. I was shown a model apartment in August. It was hot but that was on me. They have a pool, fitness center, dog park, bbq area. The could update the fitness center. Some machines are broken. The pool is nice. Snow removal and salting could be a bit better. They change the filters for the central air system every year. Some of the buildings allow pets. There is a one time per rent. Repairs are done in a timely manner. The property is mostly quiet. read more

I have lived at Aspen Glen for a few years now and have loved everything about it. The office staff is friendly, attentive and efficient. They are great! Maintenance does a great job. The pool is amazing. Many people walk here. It has a great community feeling. Neighbors talk to each other and are courteous. I have never had a problem with noise here. The apartments are centrally located in Hamden. They do a great job with landscaping and snow removal. I would recommend living here to anyone. read more

This is by far the WORST place I have ever stayed at. Unfortunately when we were in the process of finding a home in 2019 we had no idea that when we sought temporary relocation there that the world would be shut down a few months later so it took what was supposed to be a 1 year stay and turned it into a 3 year stay and it was the worst 3 years. They have this security gate that goes down at night that NEVER works. There would be lines of us trying to get in because the rf chip they give you for your windshield never works and I tried 2 of them. (of course they made me pay for the second one) Then we had a crazy ant issue in our unit and I have NEVER had to live with bugs. They wont let you call your own exterminator and the lady that comes by squirts something in the corners and leaves. One time she said its been an issue they're addressing by spraying outside the buildings but it was never resolved! Then they give you these stickers to put in your windshield to show that your car is supposed to be parked out there. Well from day one I put the sticker on my windshield and still they put a big green sticker on the outside of my driver window saying my car is not supposed to be there. I go to the office and these rude chicks (we'll get to them) tell me "oh he must not have seen your residence sticker".. Why Not??? its in plain site right in the top right corner of my windshield. Then about 6 months later there's another sticker on my window. lol This time they actually look in the system and it appears they put my license plate in there wrong... So he wasn't looking at the windshield he's just looking at plates and putting stickers on your window. That may sound small but when you're rushing, leaving for work and you get to your car and now you have to either chose to drive with this big green sticker on your window or now stop and spend 15min trying to scrape it off. Lol After the 3rd time I gave up going to the office I kept a bottle of goof off in the trunk. The garbage situation is a joke.. I'm slightly disabled and I can't walk far so unless you live in the building next door from the dumpster you will be putting your garbage in the trunk of your car to transport it to the ONE dumpster they have in the back of the complex to service obviously more apartments than it can handle judging by the amount of garbage bags that pile up around it weekly because it's too full.. Now, for the ever so attentive individuals they have managing this place. By far the rudest most arrogant set of minimum wage workers I have ever come across. (and I've shopped in walmart). Down to the very last phone call I had to have with their headquarters because they of course screwed up our security deposit. (I'll get to that) So we had one incident where they have these car ports out there that you can pay $15 a month for and we had been waiting since we came there to get. My wife is a nurse and she gets in late on some nights when she has to work till 7 and after about 6 you can forget about finding a parking space sometimes she was parking 2 or 3 buildings over at midnight and that wasn't cool. Well one supposedly opened up and they called my wife to some down to the office to fill out the paperwork and make the first payment. Well, she did that and expected that night to come in from work and park in her spot but there just happened to be a car parked in the spot. Long story short they rented us someone else's spot and we no had to wait another 2 months for one to open up but lets just say they were very apologetic or accommodating after what turned out to be their mismanagement Then there's the lady I got on the phone today when I called because they screwed up when sending us back our deposit. I didn't think I would have to deal with the level of incompetence I endured the 3 years I was there, but it appears to be their culture over there. The lady I spoke to chose to talk extremely fast and throw all these numbers at me. When I tried to get her to slow down so I can show her where they messed up at she said, (lol you can't make this stuff up,) she said" I emailed you the numbers you can do the calculations on your own time" then she hung up on me. lol After speaking to someone over her head who was able to get things fixed for me because they tried to keep money for the July rent when I showed her the screen shot from her system where we paid July rent. That final phone call is what force me to write this review. There are by far countless stories I could mention like the painted tubs and faulty toilets but just take my advice and STAY Away!!!! read more

I have had the best experience living in Aspen Glen for the past year! I would recommend to anyone and everyone. The location is absolutely optimal and the staff was extremely helpful every step of the way. I recently graduated from Quinnipiac University, only five minutes away (so a great spot for students)! Every inch of the property was impeccably clean and felt like home. Brittany in the leasing office was very kind and always willing to help. The grounds are extremely well-maintained. I loved using the pool in the summer months (also always clean and inviting). I so enjoyed meeting my neighbors and quickly found a community in which I felt safe and comfortable. read more

10/10 would NOT recommend DO NOT LIVE HERE. We have lived here for 7 months, which has been far too long and this has been our experience so far. The walls are so thin you can hear your upstairs neighbors peeing, and their alarm clock going off for 10 straight minutes thinking it's your own. Even during quiet hours we can hear little children screaming all hours of the night and other residents running up the stairs for no reason. The noise level is just awful, if you want peace and quiet I REPEAT, do not live here. Snow removal is absolutely trash. It took them 3 months to clear 3 parking spots where they designated that as closed off for snow compiling. This was very frusturating because parking here is already very cut throat and taking away three of the main parking spots RIGHT in front of our apartment was not very cash money. This forced us to have to park three apartment buildings away from our building on a regular basis. The maintenance workers are very rude, disrespectful, misogynistic assholes who always come in huffing and puffing. They accused us of not even knowing how to use a dryer when we first moved in, but we ended up having to get a new dryer because ours was broken, like we said. The fire alarms are also way too sensitive they go off when we are just boiling water, no smoke, just vibing. To conclude, the noise is the absolue worst. It has been 7 months of this shit and I don't know how we are going to survive another 5 to make it through our lease. We saw the reviews that said the noise was bad, but thought it couldn't be that bad, well let me tell you, it is. Please learn from my experience and do not live here. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment to view this place. When I called I told the lady what I was looking for and my anticipated move-in date of June 25th or later. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted by a lady (I don't remember her name) and she told me Jim would be right with me. Jim didn't even say hi, and he didn't even introduce himself. He asked me what I was looking for, showed me a paper with the 2 different floor plans, then we proceeded to the model. He never spoke to me on the way over, just awkward silence. It was so uncomfortable. He literally opened the door to the model, told me the name of the particular floor plan and stood there waiting. He didn't explain anything at all. After the tour, he tells me that they have an apartment available May 15th, when I stated my move in date has to be June 25th or later. When I mention that, he tells me they have one for July 15th, and asked if I would like to pay a $200 holding fee. I declined. After that type of service, not to mention I feel as if the place is waayy over priced and outdated for the prices they charge. Friendlier leasing agents that actually want to give a tour and sell the apartment is a must! read more

I usually never write yelp reviews but after my experience with the sales associate at the front desk Britney I felt compelled to write this review. Went there with a friend to check out an apartment. The sales lady Britney in the leasing office had the worst attitude I've ever seen on a sales woman . When we asked about seeing an apartment she told us that we could take a virtual tour online . Very stand offish attitude . After telling her that we didn't want to see one online that we wanted to see one in person she reluctantly agreed after having us fill out some paperwork . While filling out the paperwork she asked us questions like if we were students or if we would need a co signer . After informing her that we were graduate students about to graduate with a masters her entire demeanor changed and all of a sudden she was willing to show us apartments. Because of her attitude when we first walked in I decided to move else where where my business would be appreciated . I will never consider renting there again and Britney's manager should have a talk with her about her attitude toward potential residents read more

My wife and I moved to an apartment here from a very nice house in North Haven, and wish we had moved 2 years earlier. The apartment has been great. Very comfortable, with a beautiful western view from the fourth floor balcony. The apartment is large and comfortable and well maintained. The heating bill during an extremely cold winter was amazing cheap - $90 a month including hot water. We use the gym and tennis court. Great location. The office staff has been very helpful. The other tenants are polite, and quiet. Some parties, but not a lot. Note - the other Yelp reviewers did not move in, and so do not know the complex. Great place. We'll never own again. read more

My husband and I lived in Aspen Glen for 2 years. We had no problems and we enjoyed our stay very much! They quickly accepted our dog (boxer breed) which was a very big concern of ours. We had no issues with the apartment except for some of the appliances being old but they were swapped out as quickly as possible. Too many bad reviews about how people did not get their refunds back. Before having our inspection my mother and I cleaned the apartment for a few hours and we received our full refund back. If you are a clean person and do not make a mess throughout the time you live there, there really should not any reason as to why you do not get your full refund back. We just received ours in the mail today. Also, Shannon (the manager) was an absolute doll when it came to our home inspection as there was a scheduling mistake and she took care right of it. Someone accidentally booked the inspection on a holiday Monday (Memorial day) and when I called to confirm the appointment the day before (Sunday) we were informed that they would be closed the Monday and a mistake was made. I really wanted someone for the inspection and when I asked what could be done about it the young lady in the office quickly called Shannon to see what the best solution was. Shannon decided to take actions into her own hands and resolve the situation by taking time out of her day to meet me and do the home inspection herself. Typically home inspections are done by maintenance and for Shannon to take the extra step and do it herself because someone in her office made a silly mistake spoke a lot about how well they treat the residence of Aspen Glen. The grounds was always clean, never had any problems with the neighbours and our dog LOVED going for walks around Aspen Glen at night time and meet other friend dogs. Also, Patti who works at the front desk is a very sweet lady with an even sweeter (Marti) who she sometimes brings to work in the main office. Patti was always so kind with letting my dog play with Marti! All in all the ladies of Aspen Glen werre great! We never had a problem and I highly recommend Aspen as your next home. read more

My friend and I had the same experience as the other reviewer when we visited this complex. We were not greeted or welcomed. The employee assumed that we needed a co-signer without asking us anything about ourselves. We were not offered a tour, and were told we could just take a virtual tour online. This place is HORRIBLE!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! Centipede city!!! Overpriced, dishonest, cheap, and will scam you out of every single cent possible. The staff is either incredibly rude or so new (no one stays! a testament to that place) that they know absolutely nothing. If you love having insects as additional roommates, you will love this place! We had an exterminator come three times to no avail. We were killing multiple massive centipedes every day. If that is your sort of thing, you will love this place! The apartment itself is not nice. You can find much nicer apartments in the Hamden area. The gym was okay at best, the pool was okay, and there is really nothing else to this place or price. Our cabinets were crooked as could be and they charged us for dents that existed well before we moved in. Good luck moving out - they will charge you as much as they can for things they don't want to take care of. This place is frankly not worth it and a massive mistake. A year from hell. I will say, the staff is able to respond to your calls quickly. However, you will be calling ALL the time! I wish I listened to every warning I had from multiple friends. If I could rate it at 0 stars I would in a heartbeat!! Don't waste your time or energy with Aspen Glen!! I lived in the apartment for one year during school and took very good care of the place. Right from the beginning, I had heard nightmare-ish reviews that I ignored repeatedly. Upon signing the lease, the property manager was extremely rude and demeaning to both my roommate and myself. Throughout our lease, we had numerous issues with bugs, water damage from other apartments, water damage in the walls, and various minor issues. Each of these concerns took multiple calls to the maintenance lines to have them come out. When it came time for a walk-through before moving out, they told us there would be a fee for carpet cleaning. This price was to be negotiated, however they kept delaying this meeting, and sent out the security deposit a week before the meeting was originally scheduled. Upon receiving our security deposit they charged double what was agreed upon for carpets, as well as tacking on absurd charges that were never discussed and that were there on our move in move-in date. The property manager and her employees are terribly rude and unpleasant, not to mention unqualified to work with people. If you don't want a year-long headache, DO NOT live in Aspen Glen!!! read more
