Good morning, I would like to say my wife and I have lived at the Broadmoor for almost 3 years now. We just went to our first Bingo night activity on Friday, and we had a ball. Thank you to Candese, the property manager and her staff, Heather, Jessie and Julian, you all did a great job. Good food, snacks, deserts, thank u to my wife who makes great cakes, brownies and deserts. Thank you management staff for having events for the community to try and get us to know each other and feel like a family. We didn't win any prizes Friday, but the fun we had, outweighed winning any gifts. This message is for the actual owners of the Broadmoor, if you read this, please keep Candese and her staff that I mentioned employed at the Broadmoor please. We've seen at least 4 different property managers since we've lived here. Candese and her staff are a pleasure to work with. I email often if I see anything that should be attended to. Not once have I felt like I was being a pain in the butt. Also, the maintenance guys are great as well. All of the guys are very friendly and very hard workers. Zero Stars if I Could This place has been an absolute nightmare since day one, and I'm officially fed up First off, "management" is an absolute joke. Heidi, who I've had the displeasure of dealing with, is completely unresponsive, unprofessiona... Communication is non-existent. I've sent countless emails and left multiple voicemails with no response. It's like they just don't care about the tenants here. The grounds a mess. It's clear that maintenance is not a priority. The trash piles up, and no one ever seems to take care of basic upkeep. It's embarrassing, especially when you're paying premium rent.On top of that, there's a community-wide pest issue. NEVER EXPERIENCED A single pest problem, but suddenly, we're dealing with bugs everywhere. Roaches, ants--you name it. I've complained, but nothing has been done. You pay to live here, but you're also paying to live with bugs. Absolutely unacceptable. The community amenities are another disaster. The leasing office had the nerve to change the rules for the community room, RIGHT BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS, with zero notice. They used to allow tenants to host family gatherings and events, but they suddenly imposed restrictions that ruined everyone's plans. So much for enjoying the amenities you're paying for! And don't even get me started on the elevator--there is consistently pee in them. I'm honestly at a loss for words. How is this even possible by in a place you're paying top dollar to live in? I would give this place **zero stars if I could**. I'm tired of paying for poor service, poor management, and a building that's falling apart. Don't waste your time or money here. I live here currently and it's not as perfect as everyone thinks. When I first moved in May 2024 my apartment wasn't done. Julian wouldn't let me see my apartment before I move in I emailed him for weeks and he just ignored my request because I had a feeling it wasn't move in ready and sure enough it was horrible experience. I complain to the property manager which she promised to get everything done before I moved in on the next day. But this new property manager is evil, rude and disrespectful. She doesn't care about her tenants at all. She locks up the pool so no one can get in. She told me I couldn't come to the leasing office or have my package delivered there because of a disagreement. The staff tried to steal my package. I spent twenty minutes going through every box and every package and it wasn't there. So I told the staff that they aren't checking id and making sure people aren't stealing packages. All of sudden after saying what I say my package popped up in two minutes. They tried to steal my package or hold it to be funny. How can you call a tenant and demand them to not come to the leasing office to pay rent or pickup packages. Candese needs to be fired. She has a nasty attitude and disfigured about her. She locks up the pool and locks up the entry to the gym. We are in a jail now. read more

Half the time maintenance is not made aware of issues.. stop them in hallway and they say ... i don't know...dong stay in hotel like they suggest... they don't reimburse you.. office managers come and go. The worst apartment complex I've ever lived in. Terrible response time when it comes to maintenance. I've had several leaks in my apartment and the maintenance guys literally spray painted my ceiling and said I was good. Not only that, the water filtration is POOR. Can't tell you how many times I've had brown water coming out of my shower. 1 star being nice Let's also talk about the painting of the tubs that literally strip every time you clean the tub. The model building is kept nicer than the other buildings, you walk into the building and it smells like dog piss. The walk in to my building's carpet is stain filled. Hello, my wife and I have lived in the Broadmoor since 2022. We love the area and the size of the apartment. We had some issues with the apartment moving in that we thought was not up to par, but maintenance did take care of the issues. The staff has changed quite a bit since we moved in. The current office staff: Connie, Jess, Julian. All 3 a pleasure to work with. Pleasant and replies to my emails and if we have any concerns. We would like to thank all 3 for their work that they do because we know it's not an easy job. The maintenance guys: Andrew, Gino, Vendim, Jose, RJ, Felix and Armani, all are great guys. Pleasant to work with. Thru attend to tickets put in at a very timely manner. I'm the past, some tickets you put in, there was a pretty significant gap when maintenance would respond. But we understood because there are plenty of units and so many maintenance guys. But they are really attending to tickets faster. Thank you guys Now there are some issues, some of the tenants are very nasty, some leave garbage where they're not supposed to. That's one negative, hopefully these tenants will be held accountable for this. Hopefully then owners will approve certain issues that are above the staffs head. Hopefully they will try and make this place and even better place to live. Heidi is the manager and I've been told before she was hired that she was great and will clean up this place. hot water has been broken at least 5 times in the last month in my building. I was away for one weekend to come home to no hot water and my neighbor telling me it was out for three days. If you call to complain the woman at the front desk is a huge BITCH. She acts as if it's an inconvenience to ~her~ that you are upset over not being able to shower or clean dishes. I hope she reads this. Your facility is a disgrace and the people in charge don't care about the quality of your living conditions. I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy to this place. I should have listened to all the bad reviews but I was desperate and I can assume that's why most people live here also. I've been here a year and it's absolutely horrible. The AC in the entire complex has been broken all month, they wait until the last minute when we have 90 degree weather to figure out there's a problem. People without ac in these conditions when your lease agreement is that you'll have ac!!! Totally unacceptable. The parking lot is full of crater like pot holes, elevators are constantly out of repair and are rickety and honestly scary to use, maintenance takes forever if they even come at all, many of the tenants are dirty, loud, litter everywhere, leave dog poop everywhere, animals go in the elevator and they don't clean it up. Rug in the main hallway is covered in pee stains. People park wherever the hell they feel like because there's limited visitor parking, fire alarm constantly going off I have to have crates set up all the time to get my pets out because it happens that often. read more

This place is terrible. They shut down the trash shoots, now the elevators smell like death 24/7 because people use the elevator to take the trash down. Not to mention that 1 elevator is always broken so I have to take it he stairs form the 6th floor because everyone is fighting for elevators first thing. Multiple stolen or vandalized vehicles per month. 1 of my cars was stolen and I was told it's happening all over Hamden there is nothing we can do. Nothing was done no cameras no security guard no gate installed. Surprise surprise a little over a month passes by and my other car was left in a jack, my tires were stollen. GM never got back to me. For the $1900+ it costs to live here it's not worth it. read more

Stay away from the roach motel! They took our security deposit and we couldn't even stay in the apartment for 10 hours before the roaches started coming out of the walls. Sure, they will show you a nice upgraded unit on a tour but what you get in the end is a crap shoot. There are also a few buildings on the property and most have roach issues they cannot conteol and they do not tell you this. The past reviews do not lie and it goes back years. HD and local government is aware but it seems most tenants have to deal with it as they have no choice so we were told as we moved out the next day. Julian and the office team are decent people but I am afraid they are over whelmed with the complaints. Its the corporate office that is the issue and should be taking care of this health hazard. You will probably see a generic reply from them here but maybe they need to stay in an apartment overnight and see how they like the activity that would haunt anyone. Ceiling also turned brown overnight in one spot, the stain was not there on move in day!! Think twice about moooo-ving in here people!! read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I'll post my experience below but the takeaway message is that you should NOT LIVE HERE. I lived here from 2014-2023. In those 9 years, the property changed hands multiple times and the state of the complex has deteriorated. Yet the rent price kept increasing. Here is an overall summary: Don't expect your security deposit back; expect the fire alarm to go off weekly (especially on Sunday nights); the complex inside and out is gross and people leave their garbage everywhere; we never saw cockroaches but our neighbors left roach killer on our other's neighbor's doorstep because they had an untreated roach problem; expect the complex to continue to send you bills MONTHS after moving out; expect the police, fire department, AND the FBI (yes this actually happened) to show up constantly; Don't pay for an extra parking space because the property owner took away the ability to have people towed out of your spaces; be prepared for significant water damage (there was not one section of our apartment that didn't have some sort of water damage due to leaking from the ceiling or upstairs neighbors literally flooding the place; be prepared for the occasional fire (literally there was 1 fire directly below our apartment - the fire department had to use a battering ram to break down the door - the door still looks busted to this day); Don't hold your breath for the maintenance crew to respond to your request; there are literally no options for cable and internet besides Comcast/Xfinity and they suck (I have Frontier now and I'm much happier!); The pool is gross (literally it was green one day when they were open. GREEN); they charge you $50 for upkeep of the fitness center and yet most of the machines are broken and there's not a great selection, also the door to the fitness center was broken and unlocked for a year before they finally "fixed" it; expect people to smoke cigarettes in the lobby and stairwells; don't have any packages mailed here because they will be stolen! Someone stole my cat's food once, I've had packages go missing, other residents left notes on the door about their stolen packages, and I had an amazon envelope OPENED. Guess they didn't like what they saw inside. Also the mail room is not as secure as they say it is; the security cameras are fake and the one that does look real has had water leak from it multiple times; expect mysterious damage to appear on your car in the parking lot; expect to not have A/C until the middle of June and they also delay turning on the heat. For most of 2022, we didn't have any heat or hot water; when they did construction and blocked some parking spaces, they told us to "get creative" with parking; you will be notified when there's not enough staff "due to unforeseen circumstances" yet they won't tell you important things like when the pool actually opens; they will tell you when the pool gets shut down by the TOWN OF HAMDEN because it's not up to standards but then open it right back up (safe to say I didn't use the pool at all that year. I can't remember if that was the same year the pool was green); expect people to abandon their animals. We found a kitten that was abandoned in the hallway on our floor. We still have him to this day; there are cats roaming outside. I don't know if they're feral or owned but they're out there; expect when it snows that it'll be a free-for-all in the parking lot and they won't plow it for days; buy your own ice melt/rock salt because they won't put any down. I don't know how many times I had to walk on a sheet of ice to get to my car before I bought my own rock salt to put in my parking spot; some people bought their own parking cones to put in their spots so other people didn't park there (because management took away our ability to call for a tow truck without their permission, yet good luck contacting management at 8 PM on a holiday); be prepared to never learn the name of your property manager or get any contact information for them. i moveed in broardmoor on 3/15/24 to an unfit unit which i saw 10 minutes before moving . notthing like the one i was shown 2 months prior. my moving date 3/15/24, i looked back early feb. paid all fees early. electrical outslets didn'work,no motoer in heating unit, exhaust fan in bathroom missing, tub unusable due to flith ,counter top had more grout the counter in it. spoke with property manager and was told take a shower in the club house,bathtub on scheduled for april. ask to speak to corp. was told no residents allowed. they did send jose on monday to fix electrical and motors, he was extremely helpful, polite cand got the job done would not refer my worst enemy to this place. units are rented that are not fit to live in...... read more

I have too much to say, so i'll explain with photos. Basically, after being moved from one building to another after a black mold problem revealed itself through the freshly painted over walls, I then found I had a german roach and carpet beetle infestation to deal with. 3 months with no assistance from management, health dept. (knew property mgr by name) said I had to throw out all furniture because of the level of infestation. I now own clothes and an air mattress only. Personally spent $800 on exterminators who couldn't get the problem under control because it was building-wide and structural related. Rodent droppings everywhere. Zero response or ability to communicate with management while I was there, and if you did reach anyone they were condescending and rude. This place ruined my mental health, physical health, any sense of sanity, and will render me broke for the next year or two as I try to recoup my losses (which was my full savings and well over $5,000, on top of the rent I was paying only to stay in hotels and eventually ended up sleeping in a tent on my balcony until moving when I couldn't afford any more hotels. From before I moved in I had a bad feeling about the management here. They didn't know I was coming, the apartment had obvious repairs that were needed, and everything was an extra charge. The photos are from the day I took occupancy in Aug 2021. Right after renewing my lease in Aug 2022 (rent went up 11%) I was informed I had to give up my dedicated parking spot that is IN MY LEASE AGREEMENT and "get creative", because a massive construction project would be digging up the area all around my building. I am all for making upgrades if they're done in a considerate way, but this project was not handled well. They gave residents barely 24 hours to scrounge other legal spots on the property (there are NOT enough legal spots on the whole property for all the displaced drivers just from my building) and then started towing. So I'm paying for a dedicated parking spot I'm not allowed to use AND for the tow truck to release my car! All paying residents have stickers, so it's no secret my car belongs here, but it's now been towed twice, without any call or text in advance of the towing. Some days a spot will be ok, and other days it won't, there seems to be no continuity to the parking rules, and no consideration for the fact that they created this chaotic situation. Oh and have I mentioned the snarky text messages we get about much smaller issues, stuff they don't like? But they don't ever pick up the phone or respond to an email, because i have tried multiple times over the last year. I'm so fed up, I would move out now if it wasn't going to be a financial disaster for me. I am absolutely not renewing with these people, all staff and their moms can get fucked, since that's basically what they've told me I can do. If maintenance and management were better this would be a nice place, so it's really too bad they're managed by morons. read more

I was really disappointed that the model and my actual apartment were incongruent. I was told that all units did not have the features of the model, and the model only reflects a smaller number of units. The process felt ambiguous, and I ended up with a unit that was supposed to be set up with a washer and dryer. Instead, they had to carve a space in my bedroom for my washer and dryer. It was an odd placement and highly inconvenient. The materials seem to be of poor quality throughout the unit. My bathroom would get kind of moldy with the ceiling and doors stained in brown. As for the customer service, it left so much to be desired. The online portal for payments was so frustrating to work with and I incurred late fees for unprocessed payments in the system. I don't know if you could pay me to live here again. If you can tolerate slow greetings, delayed accommodations, etc. then this may be the place for you. Be cautious of "under new management". Just because they had a new property manager does not mean that customer service is up to par. And, if you decide to call their corporate office, you may receive lip service after attempting to call them about a dozen times, but you may not get any follow through. I don't think they were supportive at all. Since it seems that accountability is low, I recommend reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, any applicable government agencies, posting pictures on Yelp, doing reviews, etc. I hate being locked into a lease where the concerns of residents are not prioritized. I lived here for a short term 3 month lease. I actually enjoyed living here. It's a large community but it's very quiet area. Close to many stores...Walmart, Stop and shop, shoprite, and dining options. Only 15 mins away from New Haven. The apts are very spacious well kept. Maintenance is on top of things if you sent a request they usually come the next day. The only thing I didn't like about the complex was the elevator always smelled like weed. However management has no control over that. But all in all I liked living there. read more

I've been here a year and have not had a single complaint residing in the Ashmore building. Quiet area, close to retail and dining. On a rare occasion maintenance was required, they came rather promptly and it is an overall good price considering that heat and air conditioning is included in your rent. I have been living here for almost a year and thought that I should post a review. The new leasing office manager and staff are absolutely wonderful. I know we switched staff/management a little while ago, but they are on top of everything. They are so quick to answer your questions/emails and always so nice to speak/interact with! Any work order that I have needed (which has been very few) has been fixed right away and if they could not fix it that day they were back the next morning with the proper tools to fix it. Thank you all for a wonderful experience so far. Being a student I need somewhere that would be somewhat quiet and this place has done it. I can sometimes hear individuals in the hallway when I am in my living room, but that is with any apartment. My only complaint is individuals not putting their trash down the trash chute or bringing it outside. However, that is not on the management or how the apartments are run, that is solely based on the individuals that live on the floor. read more

This is literally the worst, piece of shit building I have ever lived in. They tout their complex as "luxury" on their website which is a joke. The fitness room smells like mold and there's no a/c in the middle of summer. Packages are stolen CONSTANTLY. There's a package room but good luck if its an important package because after 5 there is no delivery and they won't sign for it on your behalf like a doorman would. In the first 5 months I lived there, there were literally over 18 days where there was no hot water, or NO WATER at all. I had to go to work without showering, and brushed my teeth with bottled water. I asked for a credit, which they said they would do, and had to beg them every month to actually apply it to the account and when they did it was pathetic given how much time was spent without water which they are legally obligated to provide. The dishwasher is a POS and doesnt wash anything but it "works" so they wont replace it. Half the electric outlets dont work. They are barely responsive to emails. In my first month, a police officer living in the building told me I'd want to leave within a year because it's awful and she's right. The electric stove probably hasn't been cleaned in a decade because the first time i used it it filled the house with smoke. There are no lights at night so delivery guys have trouble finding the buildings. There are no restaurants around, only fast food. On the plus side, there is a shopping center with all the basic grocery store, banks, etc. It seems like a lot of families so it feels relatively safe, except for the constantly stolen packages. I literally cannot stand living here and the second I can leave I plan to do so. Run, run, run and find somewhere else to live. read more

A truly horrific place to live. They simply just donot care about tenants and keeping up on maintenance on this decaying, 40 plus year old property. The interiors are as dated as the outside, the hallways smell like urine and smoke, and the rent is 1650+ for a 2 bedroom! Thats in addition to the $150 or so they charge for utilities. Tonights catastrophe takes the cake. My smoke detector was beeping weirdly, i unscrewed it from the ceiling to troubleshoot it, only to have disgusting brown smelly water leak from the ceiling profusely. My master bedroom closet is leaking from the light fixture, creating a fire hazard. I called 1 hour and 20 minutes ago to the emergency maintenance hotline. The operator was completely indifferent and showed zero empathy when I called back and mentioned my infant son was disturbed. Broadmoor is a disgrace, do yourself a favor and seek a different community to live in. read more

All of the apartments on mix Ave are pretty much the same. This place looks nice on the outside but I dealt with mice leaving droppings all over the kitchen, termites and ants in the bathroom, completely deteriorated sub floor in said bathroom. No one ever came to fix it. The leasing office was very rude and unresponsive. Parking was awful. There were all types of people sitting in their cars in YOUR PARKING SPOT at all hours! Then were very rude when you let them know it was your spot. The only good thing was a quick review process. Overall I would never live here again. They also stopped including utilities in the rent! So why is the rent still so high?! Just awful. read more

This was the absolute worst apartment I have ever rented in my life and I regret the one year I spent here immensely. The rent is overpriced for the area but the "move-in" deals kinda make it comparable to other places in the area. When you move-in they'll give you the towing company on retainer (Wheelers) which you'll need as if your parking spot is anywhere near an entrance to the building someone will park in your spot at least once every other month and you'll have to call the tow company to get them out; you'd think you could just park in the visitor parking when this happens but the parking close to you will be full so you either tow the offending car or you circle the complex trying to find a place to park while you wait for your spot to free up. The walls are paper thin as in you will clearly hear your neighbors to the side and below (seriously you can hear every word of their conversation). The building are old and dingy and the stairwells would fit in well on the set of a horror film. The apartments are mediocre, a "renovated" unit will have cheap wood laminate instead of carpet that's shoddily installed. Appliances are old and nothing to write home about. Never order a package to be delivered to your apartment as it will more than likely end up being stolen (when you call the leasing office about it they'll act shocked and make up some nonsense about looking into it but you'll see that the thefts keep happening to you and to others). The leasing office is a pain to deal (this is true of both the old and the new company) with although maintenance is at least okay. When you move out they'll demand you clean your carpets and then if you don't want to do it yourself they'll strongly recommend you to use "Sonia" (don't worry even if you tell them they can just take the carpet cleaning out of your deposit they'll still make you schedule the cleaning appointment even though it's going to happen after you move out). Also don't be surprised when you give notice of moving out they'll keep "forgetting" to give you your last month prorated even when you call multiple times. To top off your wonderful move out experience your move-out inspection can only be performed weekdays during normal business hours. Then a maintenance employee will come late (because you have to call the leasing office to ask where they are when they miss your appointment), walk around make some sort of half-hearted attempt to look at your apartment before fining you for something like the stovetop drip plates and act like they're doing you a favor by not fining you for more. This may seem like a rant but seriously I'm just trying to warn unsuspecting people to stay away from a truly horrible experience. Please please stay away for your own benefit, you'll thank me later. read more

I've lived here for about 6 month now and I LOVE IT!! I live in a studio which is HUGE! All the other studios I've looked at were so small compared to this! I also have a dishwasher and garbage disposal which is a huge plus! They also have trash shoots so you don't even have to go downstairs or outside to take out the trash it's amazing!! The leasing office is also so pleasant! I love going down there to talk to the girls they are the sweetest!! Especially the property manager Jennifer,, she deals with any issues I have right away she's so nice!! The maintenance crew is also great!! They are all so nice and come to fix things right away! I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone I know as they are the best that I've ever lived in and I plan on staying a long time here!!! read more
