All calls went to VM and the mailbox was full. Tried to email through the website with no response. I contacted the seller and they made attempts to contact this shop for several days with no response. The seller eventually shipped another bike to my location and a local dependable shop will assemble and fit the bike. The strange part is someone signed for the shipment at the Hub of Aspen so somebody is there. I chalk this one up to the Aspen mentality of greatness and living in a parallel universe. It goes to show you don't have to be brilliant to run a business in Aspen. Pity on those that give this place any business good luck.

They are a bike shop and you can sign up for a rental to ride a nice paved trail around the historical mining areas in Leadville. They were super nice and they provide you with a helmet, a map, and give you a quick tutorial of the bike before they send you on your way. Now before you decide to ride a bike in Leadville you definitely need to be prepared for the elevation and the up hill at times, but the views , the down hills, and history made it worth it ounce of sweat. This is a MUST DO when in Leadville. No better way to get to know this laid back mountain town.

This was incredibly useful information for two non-cyclist from Texas eager to get out for a joy-ride:) They also tipped us off to a store down the street, Common Threads, to purchase a lightweight backpack to carry our phones, water, and such. I found the perfect bag there for $13 AND a souvenir Colorado tube mask/scarf/hat combo which came in super handy against the heavy winds in some parts of the trail. **I learned recently that covering your ears can help prevent ear infections by preventing pollens and such from entering--makes a lot of sense! We signed waivers, paid the $25/day bike rental fee, were provided bikes, helmets, and a map and were on our way! The rental checkout and return process was quick and easy and great memories were made:) My only suggestions for improvement relate to the opportunity to sell some small, affordable, lightweight backpacks in-store (as awesome as it is to recommend neighboring businesses!) as well as the need for some bike maintenance on the rentals. My front tire was a bit low, handle grips kept slowly spinning--wouldn't stay in place, and I had some wiggling back in forth in my seat. Some of those things didn't become apparent until we were working our way over to the trail and we didn't want to delay our trip by turning back to request those things be checked or have to retrace our route as the streets were uphill and required some work. Also, it would have been super helpful to have kickstands on the bikes as we were interested in taking photos quite often along Mineral Belt Trail and found it challenging to coordinate that without kickstands. All-in-all, I would certainly recommend Cycles of Life for bike rentals (though maybe spend some time double-checking the bike before taking off) and would gladly recommend the business to friends.

They explained how to use them and gave us great directions on how to get up to Maroon Bells. It was the most amazing bike trip!!! Our first E-bike ride made us fans! Coming from MN and not being acclimated to the altitude yet, the E-bikes made this ride physically possible. Once we got there we locked them up and hiked 3 miles. Thank goodness the bike ride back was all downhill!!! Gorgeous trail, great equipment, helpful staff. Priceless.

I reserved two mountain bikes from Crested Butte Sports and paid an extra $25 per bike for early…read morepickup so I could be ready for a big ride. Total anticipated bill was $304.50 for the two mountian bikes. When I picked them up, I was shown the Squidlock suspension lockout feature, but when I got home, it didn't work. I called the shop and was told the bike had a known failed Squidlock and they had no replacement available. This is frustrating because the suspension lockout was important for my planned climb on the 401 Trail Loop, and I could have rented from another shop that had fully functional bikes. When I returned the bike and explained my concern, Audi, the owner was defensive, saying most mountain bikes don't have Squidlock (true, but nearly all modern bikes have a suspension lockout). Regardless, renting out a bike with a known failed component without disclosing it is unacceptable. I was only offered $25 off the rental, which did not reflect the impact this issue had on my experience.
