The only complaint I have about Aspen is the waiting room times, but otherwise... Once I got into that chair, they treated me like I was the only patient in the room. They walked me through everything, and after finding out I had WAY more cavities than I thought, they put me with Rory at the front desk to talk about financial options. He was totally sympathetic to my fear of the cost, and helped me come up with a whole new financial plan that met my needs (I don't have insurance). After paying the money I needed for the weeks of procedures ahead of me, they squeezed me in immediately for the first procedure that day. They're all so easy to talk to, understand the nerves that come with dentist offices, and make sure you are as comfortable as possible. And as someone who is pretty self-conscious about her teeth, they definitely abide by their judgement-free policy. They scheduled all of my future appointments ahead of time, lessening my stress of having to make appointments myself in the weeks ahead. Bottom line: Heavily recommend Aspen Dental! But bring a book for the waiting room :) read more

My son used this company to surgically remove his teeth and replace with dentures. The first set of dentures were a mess they didn't fit and he lost about 20lbs because he could not eat. He had them replaced with another set and the bottom plate broke in half shortly afterward. He has been unable to reach anyone at the place of business now for months. I am thinking they must be closing up. I cannot find an office that is open to fix the mess. These teeth cost about $10,000. The government shoul do something about this kind of operation that takes your money and gives a terrible product. read more

I had a severe pain in my tooth and I asked them if I can do a walk-in, and they said yes and after x-rays and check up, they gave me a bill for $20,000 if they would to treat me, then I asked what about my tooth, and they said it's part of the plan, so I refuse the plan and I went to do my treatment elsewhere and I paid my entry fee, only to be surprised to send me another bill for $168 and when I called, they said that this is for the x-rays. And I told him to go submit it to my insurance because I paid my at the door fee read more

BEWARE - DO NOT GO HERE! they are so nice and everything before your procedure, but after you pay them, they could care less. i got multiple fillings and a crown almost a month ago and i am STILL in pain to the point of not being able to eat, drink or sleep. i have been back multiple times since the procedure (basically once a week) and they treat me like i'm crazy for being in pain and gaslight me. the first time, the doctor (whom did not perform the work on me) told me it could be SIX MONTHS before the pain subsided. the second visit, he said TWO. so which is it? all the research i have done and after calling other dentists in the area say the same thing - that is NOT NORMAL to be in pain for that long, maybe a week, TOPS. i called them this morning, crying, because, well i'm in pain, and whoever answered said "well what do you want me to do about it?" so i requested all my records so i can have someone else take care of me from here. there are multiple dentists in the Smyrna area - try them ALL before this place. read more

I've been a patient since march. doctor mentioned teeth whitening, at my previous cleaning appointment. their entire system broke. they said they'll rescheduled me for when the new machine comes in-- they never called me. two months later, I called to check in with my whitening appointment. the receptionist told me: "our machine isn't in just yet. you're able to be seen at the Murfreesboro or Antioch location". the doctor who mentioned teeth whitening is amazing and had started on the process during my last visit, therefore I wanted to be seen at that same location with that same provider so she could finish what she had started. the front desk kept telling me to go to a different location and proceeds to push me away-- despite the machine and equipment already being available and transferred to this clinic, before I even called. the customer service is beyond terrible. today was my 6month check up. appointment was set for 9am. the man at the front desk had everyone checked in, including me. i sat down and waited, while everyone else was called (after I've waited for thirty minutes past my appointment time). I was the first patient there and the first scheduled to be seen, yet I sat there and had only been called up to be informed: "hey we sent you an email & didn't hear anything back". Luckliy, the office manager corrected him & spoke up about me not being sent any email from their office and called me in the back to be seen by the doctor. I waited thirty minutes in the back room to be seen by the provider. it was an hour and a little bit over, still haven't been seen or taken care of. I left the room and never wanna be sent back there again. zero / five stars . read more

Aspen Dental in Smyrna is horrible. I needed my teeth cleaned & a bridge. The office staff told me what my portion of the bill would be. They took my money! Then when my insurance covered more & sent them the money there was a $500 plus credit. I asked for my money back and I was told that I would need more work done in the future. It took me over 6 months to get my money back. With many excuses on why they cannot give me my money back. I called the central office to find that the office staff never put the paperwork in for my money to be returned. I, still have not received 100% of what they owe me it's. even over a year! I know I will never get the rest back. So, buyer beware Aspen Dental if over paid will never tell you nor give you back what is yours without a fight. read more

DO NOT visit this location, worst experience ever from beginning to end, I had to go to another dentist to fix the horrible job they performed on my behalf and on top of that they will overcharge for unecesary procedures after letting interns practice on you to extremes on were they had to apologize for being unprofessional and not even know up to what stage they been working on your mouth from one visit to the next... BEWARE ! just read the reviews one bad after another I am sure they get their friends to leave positive reviews so they don't sink into all negative. Smyrna TN 37167 read more

I made an early appointment at 7:30 AM as a new patient since I was dealing with a dental emergency. As soon as I arrived I realized there was at least 4 other patients in the waiting area already. That was very odd to me since they open at 7:30 AM? There was an elder gentleman standing by the receptionist waiting to get checked in. However, the receptionist raised her voice at him and told him to go have a seat because she was helping someone else. The elder gentleman responded saying "I have an appointment at 7:30" which she told him again "okay go have a seat." I was behind this gentleman so I proceeded to have a sit myself. The receptionist continued to raise her voice and be rude to the patients, so I just decided to walk out. I tried to give this place a shot, but after seeing how rude this lady was, I am okay. read more

I was at the Tullahoma Tenn. store yesterday to have my upper and lower partials fitted. The upper seemed to fit pretty good at the time. The lowers did not fit correctly at all. They kept working on it but the right side would not seat on my gums. After several try's to fix them the guy said in time they would adjust themselves. I had about enough for one day anyhow so I started home with the new teeth in my mouth. I get a phone call and I couldn't talk because the lowers kept moving around and then the pain from the uppers set in. I'm thinking no problem because I would just go back tomorrow because the tech told me if I had any problems to stop back in anytime. So today I am in the parking lot when they unlocked the door. I go in, tell the receptionist my problem and she says the can't see me until July 8th. Today is June 26th. What happened to the walk in anytime and we will see you? Does that mean you are just going to be seen by the receptionist? I am slightly upset because they have taken my money and now they put off fixing the problem. Now I find out I had a scheduled back procedure on July 8th so now I'm going to have to call Aspen Dental and put it off even longer. You can bet one thing though, when I sit in that chair again I will not get up until I'm happy with them no matter how long it takes. I wish now I had never agreed to having new teeth made. As far as courtesy though they are great and they are all very knowledgeable. read more

I'm done with this office. It's time to start billing medical"professionals " for our lost time. A 2 pm appointment today, which I arrived 15 minutes early as requested, I finally got called back at 3:10 pm. Every time I asked about the wait there was a different excuse. I was even told that it's because of the road construction. Who knew that road construction made an entire dental team late, that is already at work. This office has always been poorly organized and managed but today was something special, even by their standards. As a society we've already learned to expect medical professionals to be 10-15 minutes late but over an hour is unacceptable. Aspen Dental, where should I send you the bill for wasting my time? read more

Terrible experience. First visit I was sent to Antioch for a $321 3d scan and had zero follow up from the Smyrna branch. Wound up finding a proper dentist in the area. I received a denial letter for an old claim Aspen filed recently. They were denied because X-rays they sent showed NO sign of gum disease!!!!!!!! I had several expensive cleanings I paid for out of pocket!! Even when I went to a new dentist, they required me to have them based on my history of gum disease that Aspen Dental, Dr. Williams diagnosed and treated. These clinics are atrocious and are designed to rip off people. I'll be following up with them Monday morning, August 6, 2018 to see what they have to say. I don't have the energy for more bs from them but if we let business get away with lying and stealing, it'll never stop so I'll do my part. read more

This is my second experience with Aspen Dental. I would give 4 stars for pulling teeth, cleaning teeth, x-rays, etc, but, for the love of everything holy, do NOT go here for dentures. I finally walked out with a set because I had to, I have no choice at this point, I am almost 10 months in to it and my temporary set has actually broke (from eating a Skittle) so I settled for a pair but what I did leave with is in no way a quality product, they are ill fitting and no way will I ever be able to eat with them without a serious amount of adhesive at all times, they are very loose, and very lopsided on the bite. I will more than likely have another company get me in soon to give me a quality set, ones that I can actually feel good about, ones that I can comfortably eat with. I am absolutely defeated under the process. I cant call out of work anymore, this was supposed to be a 6 month process, so even going to somebody else will have to wait, hence the reason I left with these awful fitting dentures. If you have care credit, good credit, cash on hand, etc, go somewhere else for dentures. I cannot stress that enough. Additionally, watch them on billing. They tried to over bill me $1800. My initial plan they set up came in at $6,100. When I initially signed the plan I realized when I got home online they were showing much of the procedures and the dentures cheaper on their website. I called about that and was told there were no "coupons" applied when they quoted me and drew up my plan. They applied some "coupons" and knocked it down $1800 for a revised plan totaling $4258.00. This was all done over the phone with the office manager Carson. Something made me have them email me that newer plan over after talking to him and thank goodness I did. 6 months in I was in for an appointment and I was called over and told I had an amount I needed to pay and she was showing me the original $6,100 plan. Let me also say this, I was pleased with how nice everybody was/is with the exception of a lady that does financing, short haired lady. She's rude. When I pointed out that she was looking at the old plan and that I had called in and got discounts applied she all but called me a liar. I let her know I did that with Carson over the phone and she insisted I was wrong, that this was the plan I owed. It so happened that Carson was out that day. She was Incredibly condescending too, even said, I don't know how much more it can be knocked down, we already reduced it by 30% (obviously a lie, lol) and was just so snarky about it. I was trying to pull up that email and because it was 6 months prior I was having problems pulling it up quickly on my phone, I was thinking it was actually auto deleted because it was such an old email. I sat there dumbfounded and I told her just to forget about my bottom partial then, that I needed to stay within that $4500 budget. I then went in the back to wait on my appointment and I was actually able to pull up that old email on my phone, it had not auto deleted, I was able to show it to her in PDF format with all of the coupon disc.'s applied, so, I did get my negotiated rate that was done with Carson, but, no apology whatsoever, still snarky to me in her comments, etc. WATCH THE BILLING CLOSELY. Also, when they give you a "plan" compare it to the prices they are showing online, that's the whole reason I called, I wasn't getting those prices on my plan. As an example, my plan showed my top denture at $1793 and online it showed $1255 and stated "was" $1793, "now" $1255. Every procedure was like that, my extractions, my cleaning, everything. My plan showed an extraction was $141 online it said $98. Once they applied everything appropriately it knocked it down by $1800. In closing I want to also give a shout out to one of the girls in there and I dont know her name. She was responsible for doing most of my wax bites, even mixing the stuff, she seemed to be Dr Williams assistant and she has been there for a while. SHE IS A ROCK STAR and they should give her a raise. read more

AVOID at all costs! Very very shady office. i would not recommend this office to anyone. I sat in the waiting room for an hour while the "dentist" took his wife back, i have no idea what they were doing. Then once i finally get into the room to be seen i wait another 45-60 minutes while everyone in the office is eating dinner and chatting away. This place is so unprofessional it isn't even right! Their billing practices are so shady i did not go back to have my cleaning done. I made an appointment for a cleaning. I got there 15 minutes early and waited for about 10 minutes until I got brought back, so it started off great! I got some X-rays done, then got taken back to the hygienist. All the hygienist did was poke around my gums and told me I had Gingivitis. Then proceeded to tell me that I would need a special cleaning and to get it scheduled. Then the Dentist came in. He looked in my mouth and at my teeth and said "wow you have healthy teeth and healthy gums!" So of course I asked, "I don't have Gingivitis?" And he was like "oh, well what did the Hygienist say?" And I told him she said I had Gingivitis and he said "Oh, yes you do" sooo that was Fishy? Also, the dentist was like "I want to make an appointment with our oral surgeon to get all 4 of your wisdom teeth removed" and I asked why? They don't bother me. And he said "It's just best" Anyways. They never did the cleaning that I made the appointment for and told me the cleaning I "needed" would be 200$ AFTER insurance and the wisdom teeth removal would be 2000$ since the OS is out of my network. Lol this place is a money grabbing JOKE. Will never be back read more

Very friendly and great customer service they make you feel really comfortable. I would recommend this place to people.

Like most people I don't want to go to the dentist and when I did go, found out I needed several repairs including some fillings and of course the infamous root canal. The staff and management were absolutely marvelous about working with me as to what we need to do now and what could be done later as well as offering finance options! Particularly Rory and Jordan stand out in my mind as the customer service they have provided throughout this experience AND last year when I got my mother dentures, has been amazing. Would definitely recommend them to a friend and we'll be using our services again! Thank you Aspen Dental! read more

Had a first thing in the morning appointment to fix a broken tooth. I waited in the waiting room for two hours, they then moved me to a chair where I waited another hour and a half. I needed to leave so I rebooked but before I could leave or rebook I had to pay for this appointment... apparently the Dr asking if I was still ok after 3 hrs counts as being seen by the Dr.... Everyone was so kind and professional. I was very nervous because I was fearful of the pain I might experience and I won't lie, it did hurt having 9 cavities filled. I also didn't want to be made to feel ashamed for having cavities especially since mine were a result of medication I take. I really don't think the hygienist read that in my chart before she remarked on any lack of discipline I might have had. I quickly informed her that I practice good dental health. I am glad I had the work done when I did and we caught it early, though I must say I now have tooth pain that I didn't have before. I still recommend Aspen dental and will continue to see them for my dental care. read more

This used to be a good place to go to, the last 2years the entire staff has changed and went down hill. Don't get me wrong the dentist is a great person it's the rest of the office staff and the office manager that need to be fired. No one in that office takes their job serious, I had an appointment two weeks ago and waited for over an hour because some of the staff were taking a long lunch that day, I had to reschedule my appointment to another day because of their lack of care. When I went yesterday for my appointment the new dentist was really nice and mindful caring person. But she sent the hygienist in who made me very uncomfortable after I seen her she asked me to wait in the waiting room to speak to the office manager about future visits. I waited 30mins on this lady I finally got up and ask the receptionist how much longer did I have to wait. At that moment she went over to the office manager and finally than the office manager looked at my file. She called me in 10mins later only to try to sell me services I did not need and in a very rude tone she said I may need to find another dentist because I felt I needed to take care of important items in my mouth instead of doing a deep cleaning which I felt I didn't need (only rear teeth had 4's) most of the rest of my mouth where in the 2-3 range. read more

Despite all these negative reviews, I actually had a pretty good experience. The staff were all very friendly, the dental hygienist was very gentle and sweet with me, the doctor was nonjudgmental when I told her how long it'd been since I've seen a dentist, and the manager who helped me figure out a payment plan was also great. They were also very upfront with pricing, no BS, no beating around the bush. It's expensive, but considering what I have to get done, I wasn't surprised. Leaving off one star though - I was in a lot of pain at one point and there was a new person who was logging my chart and she was extremely slow and kept logging things incorrectly. That's fine, I know they have to be trained, but the fact I was in so much pain and that caused it to drag out even more made me a little impatient. It's ok though. Would definitely recommend. read more

I love all of the staff, they are so professional and kind. Dr. Williams is the best. I recommend this location to all my friends.

I agree with the previous person. If it were possible to give negative stars I would. Their billing practices are shady at best. They insisted I needed a lot of unnecessary treatment for early gum disease, including a $160.00 toothbrush. I went in for x-rays and was told I had 10 cavities and that my child had one cavity. I allowed them to fill two cavities and one was still painful 6 months later. They had no explanation and the dentist never returned my phone calls when they said they would. So I went to a privately owned dental office 6 months later. I had new x-rays done and low and behold I only had FOUR cavities. They should have told I had 8. My daughter had no cavities at all. They said it could be that they thought some staining on the tooth was a cavity. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a dentist. I will never go to a corporately owned dental office again. read more

They lure you into their office with their advertising and then talk you into procedures you really don't have to have (especially if you are broke). My bill for a "deep root cleaning" totaled almost $2,000 - which they conveniently popped on a dental finance card before all of the work is even completed. They don't even wait to see if your insurance covers any of it. Trying to get a refund is close to impossible. I'm going elsewhere. The receptionist is rude. The actual dentist was o.k. read more

I wish I'd read these reviews before I went here. Twice I've called and asked to be called back regarding procedures they say I need and neither time was my call returned. I feel they are overpriced and try to get you to do things you don't need. All I needed was a check up and to fix a small chip in one of my teeth. They will not fix the chip until I pay thousands for a deep cleaning. Will not go back here, they have lost my whole family's business. read more

I came here to seek help, but I was let down, as they basically interpreted my situation as a way to get $2000 out of a broke college student with a toothache. The doctor didn't offer any hygiene advice, but she did assess that I needed to purchase a porcelain crown. Please, don't even go here for the $19 consultation. You can't expect them to look out for the patient's best interest, and the worst part about this is that what these people are doing is perfectly legal; therefore, some dental practices can have the same ethics as car dealerships. Anyways, long-story-short: not a good investment of one's time. Thanks for reading. read more

It's like a mix between a car dealership, a social hangout and occasionally they do checkups. My wife had an over 2 hour wait while the staff ate dinner and chatted. The x-ray tech during both of our appointments was really rough. Checkups and cleanings are two appointments. You can't just get your teeth cleaned because if you need any additional or suggested work you would need it done first. This is where the car dealership finance guy comes in. After your checkup you go to the finance guy who tells you how much all these services are and if you can't afford or don't want them, you can't get your teeth cleaned. I would highly recommend to searching around more. read more

I had a similar experience to some other on here. I went to have two cavities looked at. The dentist confirmed that they needed to be filled, and then sent the hygienist in. The hygienist said I needed a periodontal cleaning. The office manager told me that these cleaning would cost $1800 ($800 out of pocket)! For cleanings? My insurance covers periodontal cleanings, so Aspen must be doing some crazy new age procedure. I declined, and the office manager told me they would not treat my cavities then. What!?! That is an abuse of power and a bullying tactic. How childish. Do the expensive procedure or get out. What a joke. What happened to caring for patients? My cavities could abscess and send me to the hospital. Do they care? Nope. I now have to find a dentist who cares. read more

If I could do zero stars I would. My wife was scheduled for a stem cell transplant for leukemia at Vanderbilt and she had to have a dentist do x-rays and a cleaning and sign off on that before the transplant. We went to Aspen because they were close to where we were staying and the cost of their x-rays was reasonable. (we are from East Tennessee and it was to far based on the timing to drive back to our regular dentist there) However the people at Aspen refused to sign the paperwork until my wife had a deep periodontics cleaning instead just a regular cleaning and they wanted to do $1100 worth of work before signing off. I called our dentist in East Tennessee who has treated us for a decade and he said that was a scam, that she had no need of all that. So we picked up the x-rays and went to a different dentist who said all she needed was the regular cleaning, which they did for a minimal normal expense, and then signed off on the paperwork. Lawful aweful aweful they are ridiculously overpriced and the girls who work the front desk are absolutely rude and they will not call you back with any information but here is the biggest kicker !!! In May they quoted me 3000.00 that I have to pay for work to get done and I have extremely good insurance . They told me at first I only needed 6 fillings and an extraction and a bridge put in . Then I call them back and the 6 fillings changed to 16 fillings are you kidding me !!!! I went into the office and confronted the girls at the front desk and asked why it changed from 6 to 16 and they couldn't answer my question neither could the office manager . They also told me a implant would be more than a bridge and that wasn't true !!! So I decided to go and get a second opinion and the new dentist I'm now going to after a very thorough exam said I only need 3... 3 fillings and an extraction and I can get an implant put in for wait for it !!!!! 500 bucks !!!!! 500 bucks is all I have to pay out of pocket verses 3000.00 for the supposedly 16 fillings aspen said I needed !!! So glad I got a second opinion !!! There is definitely some malpractice going on their at this location and by no means I'm not that stupid that's why I went to get a second opinion and the treatment And care I received at the new dentist office without even telling them what happened at first was beyond anything I have seen !!! Two of the girls behind the front desk are total snobs and cannot even explain benefits property too you and cannot answer questions when put on the spot !!! So glad I found another dentist office that truly appreciates their patients and fully describes everything to a t of what you need and why and doesn't tell you that you need extra stuff done when clearly I don't !!! Aspen dental is horrible stay away from this place and def go get a second opinion from another office before letting them do work in your mouth !!! read more
