I have been using Smith Dental since the day they open. I have referred several friends and family to the and will always do so. Being in the customer service industry like I am I can understand you're not going to make everyone happy but I can say that Smith Dental goes the extra mile. ANOTHER UPDATE: Thursday, July 21, 2022...Still no phone call. I've been waiting on one over a month. I need to know how I go about picking up my X-rays and molds of my mouth that I paid for. I need them so I can get the work done on my mouth. I can't believe I was treated so unprofessionally by the office staff. The dentist and assistants all were really nice. If you read my other updates you will know how I was treated. After a triple bypass and double mastectomy in less that a year y'all have set back on healing because of the stress y'all have put me thru. At least be kind enough to let me know when I can pick up my X-rays and molds. Had to request them this way because y'all won't take my call. Pitiful read more

I have not been to the dentist since 2016 and my return was today 9/21/2023. So far this is still my number one place I would recommend to anyone. Waiting times are not long and the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming to all. My entire visit I was relaxed and normally I am a very nervous person when it comes to going to a dentist getting me in and getting me out was easy. My treatment plan also seems affordable with my insurance everything was broken down to cost. Everything was laid out on the table on which I should do first. I am very confident with my dentist. I like this place a lot and if you are concerned with going to the dentist because of fear, I would highly recommend going to this location. read more

On August 12 of 2020 I went to Smith dental to receive a consultation on dental implants. In the consultation I told the dentist I have sucked my thumb all my life, thinking that this information would be needed to straight my teeth. At that time I was told that if I did receive dental implants no one would know that I was getting my teeth removed to be replace with implants, and that I would have teeth in my mouth the entire process. I was also informed of the cost and the length of the procedure. On October 9 of 2020 I went to Smith Dental to start the process of getting implants on that day I went to get all of my teeth removed. I was told after the removal process to take out the dentures and cleaning mouth and replace dentures. The day after surgery was the day I was to remove the denture after removing the denture and cleaning my mouth I was unable to replace the denture. At that time I called the Dentist and told them what was going on I was told to come into the office that Monday. On Monday, I return to the office my mouth was evaluated and I was told that my mouth was to swollen and that I needed to wait till the swelling went down and maybe they can get the dentures to fit on. After a week I return to the dentist, At that time the Dentist was able to fit the denture to go on top of my gums, but I was unable to close my mouth or use them to eat; because the dentures were too big for my mouth. After the evaluation I spoke with the doctors Smith and Phil voice my concerns, At that time I was told by Dr. Phil that the teeth did fit properly because I needed a bone graft and that they were going to make me some more dentures. The dentures where never made i was told that I would be refund a portion of the money. On May 5 of 2021 I returned to the dentist to receive a bone graft and to have the abutments place for the implants. I never received a bone graft, but the abutments were placed. That Monday I returned to the dentist and asked why didn't I receive the bone graft i was referred to Dr Mackenzie office because he was the surgeon. Dr Mackenzie said that he thought I didn't need the bone graft and that my permanent set of teeth would come out fine. At that point I started realizing that maybe this dental practice wouldn't be able to accommodate my needs and that I have made a mistake coming to Smith dental. I had to be treated by Dr. McKenzie one more time to finish the placement for my abutments. I went to his office in Franklin Tennessee. The next following months I returned countless times to Smith dental. On June 9 of 2022 I was told my permanent teeth was finish. I went in to get the teeth permanently fitted in my mouth, which didn't come easy for some reason the teeth wouldn't fit on the abutments properly. After some help from other staff the teeth was sitting in my mouth awkwardly. They were still to big for my mouth and I was having trouble swallowing and speaking. Before leaving the office that day I was told I need to remove my teeth nightly for cleaning. That night I removed and cleaned the teeth; and wasn't able to replace them in my mouth the next morning. I have been to the office several times since speaking about the my dissatisfaction and I was told I would be refund. I stilling haven been refunded no money; I still have no teeth in my mouth. I feel like this office doesn't have my best interest in this matter dismissing facts of events. I have Received another consultation from another dentist and told that they cannot used any of the work that was put in my mouth from Smith Dental. I was informed that it would cost me $50,000 to fix my damage that was done. read more

I made an appointment for a cleaning 6 months ago at my last cleaning. Appointment was for March 15th at 8 am. The e-mail they sent me said my appointment was 8:50. I noticed this this weekend so I had no chance to follow up, so I showed up at 8:00. My wife suggested that I bring my appointment card with me in case I was questioned, so I did. I was informed when I arrived that I had an 8:50 appointment. I showed them the card and then I offered to return at 8:50 . I was told, no they will fit you in. It is 8:45 and I am still sitting here. Common courtesy they should have told me to come back instead of making false promises and then leave me in the lobby for 50 minutes read more

I've lived in Smyrna 25 years and have been looking for a good dentist. All the ones I've seen have been "just okay." I then found this office and saw Dr. Rachel Carlson. I was having jaw pain and a difficult time identifying the source, which other doctors couldn't do. She found that it was a nerve near a molar and also TMJ and my long time pain was finally gone after about two weeks of treatment. The staff was friendly and made insurance filing easy. I'm not sure where to start. I made an appointment for August 22, 2018 but it took me a month to get that appointment. It advertises late appointments and Saturday however Saturday appointments I was told was for established patients only. I'm not sure how you get to be established when you can't hardly get an appointment to get in. I picked a 6:30 for a cleaning and a dental treatment plan since I am an Orthopaedic Nurse and my hours are 8-5 @ the hospital Monday thru Friday. I have waited for years to have dental insurance and finally have BC/BS to get my teeth back in shape. I was so excited to find a dentist beside my work to go too. So I get to the first appointment, was rushed in and out since it was a late appointment and was told somebody would call me about the treatment plan since I have Aetna. I repeated that its BC/BS. Well nobody ever called me and after 2 weeks I called back and was emailed the treatment plan. So I after looking at the plan the teeth that was marked wasn't even the teeth that I am having trouble with. In fact that wasn't even my teeth :( so once again I was told they would call me back with the correct info. Never happened, so I called back and spoke to Meghan whom stated she would go over the plan with me. Well it never got that far so I called back a month later which was today and spoke to Ashley she kept repeating she wasn't sure why I wanted to come in and talk about the treatment plan. I advised her because I understand bones not teeth and need to show her what is hurting and get the correct plan for my mouth since the first one sent wasn't mine. To make a long story short, I got the ok to come by at 6:00 pm after work and I did. I went in and waited my turn as a man was checking out with his teenage son and the 4 girls was ignoring everyone but him as he was talking about being a musician... BLAH BLAH BLAH. Finally the little dark haired girl asked my name and what I wanted since I wasn't officially on the schedule. Another 15 minutes went by before someone asked her who I was and what I wanted. She explained and the Ashley girl and Meghan was going back and forth about neither one had time to talk to me and I shouldn't be there for it to be explained since it was emailed. That was really not a welcoming moment and I felt awkward so I just left! I would never do that to a patient and feel like if you don't like your job to find a new one. I've been coming to Smith Dental since 2017. I currently have the Damon braces system and I love them more than the traditional braces. Everyone is so polite and kind in the office. I feel like family and they make sure my husband and I are taken care of. My family and I are a part of the Smith Dental Family. Dr. Smith always has a smile on his face every time I see him. Meaghan is just a sweet heart and makes the payment process smooth and she goes the extra mile of getting to know the patients at Smith Dental. Ashley, makes me laugh even when I don't want too ; )...... I miss my previous orthodontic assistant Mrs. Love so much. I just met my second favorite Orthodontic assistant Alisha Michelle. I now have a new Dental doctor and his name is Dr. Tishbein and his lovely and always perfect assistant Michelle are a EXTRAORDINARY Dental Team.
