So, you should know that Aspen doesn't do cleanings on a first visit like every other dentist in the country, but they don't really want you to know that, but they also want you to think that practice is normal, which it's not. They only have one dental hygienist, and she's scheduling three months out, but they don't tell you that up front. Also, she's going on maternity leave, so they don't know if they will be doing cleanings this summer. They specifically told me that they wouldn't hire another hygienist, and I guess it makes sense if it were just going to be a temporary thing but if they're scheduling cleanings three months out, it's time to have a second hygienist just because you need it (and I think they have three dentists, so maybe that ratio of dentists to hygienists should be reevaluated anyway?) The office was relatively clean. They seemed like they knew what they were doing from a workflow standpoint. The dentist found a couple pre-cavities that stem from not going to a dentist for two years because of the pandemic. The office manager was very nice when I expressed my surprise and frustration with being misled by the website, and they even had a regional manager call me right away, so my complaint isn't with the customer service. They did everything they could from that standpoint. It's just that they are understaffed. And also maybe the website should be clear that the initial exam and x-rays doesn't include a cleaning. But their response was not to solve the problem, (that problem being that I didn't get a cleaning today). Their response was to try to explain to me that it was unreasonable for me to expect a cleaning today. So I guess the solution is just to not have any expectations at all. Edit to respond to the business's response: as I mentioned in my original post, I spoke with both the office manager and the district manager. They both implied that my expectation was unreasonable. The only actual solution at this point is for you to refund the full cost of the original appointment. I spoke with a different dentist yesterday and they said they can't just do my necessary dental work based on your initial exam. And since my insurance limits the number of exams I can have, I'll have to pay that out of pocket. read more

I went to have a tooth extracted and they wanted to charge me $1600 to do it and they also wanted to charge me $28,000 for a partial. never got a partial before but shit, who has $28000 dollars lying around. don't ever go ever. When you go to Aspen Dental for the first time you get free x-rays and an exam. The x-ray technician was so poorly trained that I asked her if it was her first day on the job. She had to make multiple attempts to get the right x-ray exposures--so much so that I became concerned about excess radiation! The office functions smoothly and seems designed to handle numerous patients. The overall impression is far from the smaller dental practice most of us are familiar with. It's not homey, it's institutional, cold and efficient, and an emphasis on quality and a sense of ownership is lacking. read more

Stay away. This place is a rip off. They charge more then 4 times for a simple procedure then a reg dentist. They took advantage of my 85 year old mother. Including "giving" her a $90 toothbrush then adding it to the bill. A $10 bottle of mouthwash they billed her $70.00. Yes $70. They did a $750 cleaning for a tooth that needed to be pulled. Catskill dental charged 1/4 of that to pull the tooth which was what she needed, not a cleaning. We called the BBB and they are looking into this place. Go anywhere but here. read more

If you want to be treated like a wallet and not like a person, by all means visit here. The entire purpose of this place is not with any care for the overall well being of the person. I could not have been clearer on the phone and in person that I have very serious anxiety about the dentist and to please tell me exactly what to expect at the next appointment so I can mentally prepare myself for that. (I ended up at Aspen Dental as my pervious dentist had very suddenly passed away). There is no caring from a single staff member or from the dentist himself. Come in, there not going to tell you what they are doing, the dentist will walk in and not even introduce himself and tell you to open your mouth. Dr. Leonidas, Why did you even become a dentist? Its pretty clear that this is simply a pay check for you, and you have no care or regard for your patients AT ALL. I only know your name from my bill, you never even introduced yourself. You literally have the table directly in the patients face, opening the tools that look like something out of a Saw movie to a patient who has said more then one time how terrified they are of the dentist and how much anxiety they have going to the dentist. I was lucky enough to be referred to a lovely family dentist in East Greenbush, who was able to squeeze me in and see me the next day, after one of my employees called them while I was sobbing after my visit at aspen dental. Who even on the phone walked me through exactly what to expect for my first appointment while we come up with a treatment plan together for everything given that my pervious dentist passed away in the middle of my treatment and completing the work I has started at aspen dental and will not be completing with them. Find a dentist who will take into consideration that you are a person, and even just a little adjustment of not putting the tools in the direct line of site of the patient (who has said more then one time how afraid they are), take the time to come up with a full treatment plan and DISCUSS it with you (instead of shouting out tooth numbers to your assistant like the patients are too stupid to understand it anyway and then telling you where to go pay) and overall treat you like a human being and not a human ATM. The only place I will give credit to Aspen Dental is **Not this location** the Endodontist at the Schenectady location, Dr. Thomas and his dental assistant where both lovely and had wonderful bedside manner. The assistant reassured me and was very nice. Dr. Thomas asked me what parts I was most afraid of and walked me through what they were going to do, kept the tools out of my sight line so nothing was scary before starting, used pressure point techniques to distract me from the needle, and asked me if I had music I would like him to play during the procedure to make me feel more comfortable. I would give 5 stars to Dr. Thomas, but again HE IS NOT AT THIS LOCATION. Dr. Leonidas is the only dentist at this location, and If you like to be treated like a person and not an ATM, DO NOT GO HERE. **P.S. Best of luck to anyone trying to ever see their own x-rays. Considering that every business out there is dealing with a shortage of manpower, this Aspen dental has been doing pretty well. Only had to have one appointment rescheduled in the last year and that was due to Covid. They do a great job answering questions and making sure I understand completely. It was expensive for what I had done but the prices were very competitive and they offered payment options. All in all very happy with this life changing experience. The staff knows their job and are very friendly and I feel like they actually care. I highly recommend Hudson Aspen Dental. read more

What a bunch of incompetent, arrogant, inconsiderate people and the oral surgeon was the worst! He didn't tell me his name, so you should use caution if going there. I started this journey two months ago and had an appointment for 11:00 am for an extraction procedure, and had to arrange for a ride there and a ride home and someone to stay with me while I was there. Then I get a call at 8:15 telling me that my procedure was canceled but I had to still come in for a third consultation. When I told the oral surgeon about this he got pissy andthen tried to put the blame on everyone else in the office. It was all his fault no one else! Then when I told him why I was upset he wanted to make it to be my problem, and said I don't have to talk to him like that, I didn't swear, yell, or call him a name. Just told him his excuses were useless and it was his policy not the nurse or receptionist or book keeper. So if you like being put through hoops you should go ahead. If you would rather be treated like someone who is spending more than 15,000 $ I would go to anyplace else! They don't care about inconveniencing anyone so if that's what you're into good luck. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Every time I have to deal with these people theres Some kind of catch. For instance, I came for an emergency tooth repair and the receptionist said I'd need to pay $150 and I MIGHT be able to get it fixed. The second time I tried to make an appt and they said to get a bonding whitened I would need to get a full dental assessment and diagnosis and that I would need to get a full diagnostic to be established as a patient. Well it seems I am in the minority for the Hudson Aspen Dental, but I had a very good experience there. My mother, age 81, was visiting me from out of state, and a crown on her front tooth fell out. I couldn't get her in to see my regular dentist, so I called Aspen in Hudson, and they got her in the next morning to repair the crown. She saw Dr. Arena, who was very thorough, respectful toward both my mother and me, and very professional. He explained everything he was doing, and included me in the conversation as it was clear that I was there as a caregiver for my mother. All of the staff was friendly, competent and helpful. We paid for the visit out of pocket, so I don't really have anything to compare the cost to, but I didn't feel it was unreasonable for an emergency visit. I certainly would be willing to recommend them based on this one visit, and would be willing to go there again. read more

Don't do it...Aspen is the Walmart of dentist's without good customer service. Called customer service after Aspen cancelled my appointment and did not answer their phone to reschedule, agent sent me to a clinic 56 mi away because they did implants. Well I arrived and they did not have me on the schedule ,and they do not do implants. but they did have me on the schedule at a clinic 50 miles away. Receptionist did not care, did not offer to call other clinic and stated that it was not her fault. Yes I was frustrated and probably a bit snarky , but I had just wasted an hour and gallons of gas and received NO customer service. She was so rude and unsympathetic. What happened to customer service? Later found out that getting implants at Aspen does not happen, even though their website tells you something different. They will refer you to an oral surgeon and he will do your implant, although they guy in customer service told me they do implants in house at some clinics...not true the receptionist told me. They also have no idea, or so they claim, what their website states. This is the worse business model I have ever seen. I am in despair that such people would be involved in the health care of my teeth. DON'T DO IT! read more

Best decision ever! My husband had what we considered a dental emergency and my regular dentist couldn't see him for a couple of days. I called Aspen Dental in Hudson, NY, and they were able to get us in the first thing the next morning. (I must say we were a bit apprehensive having to go to a "big box" dental office, but those concerns were quickly extinguished!) It is often said that you can only make a good first impression once, and Hudson's Aspen Dental did exactly that. The office manager Nicole was extraordinarily welcoming; the dental assistants (Sarah, Danielle, Ashley) were polite, professional, accommodating; the dentist Dr. Fuertes was personable, efficient, and thoroughly explained the process & what to expect. I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. In addition, the office was easy to get to, it was spacious, it was clean, it was inviting. We most definitely recommend Aspen Dental in Hudson for all your dental needs. read more
