Holly was super quick in getting these done & knew exactly what she was doing. Not to mention that she was incredibly sweet! To my surprise, this super cheap x-Ray also came with a consultation! Doreen checked my gums, taught me a bit about why I was having so much decay. I had so many questions & she so patiently answered them all! I then met with the treatment plan counselor, Courtney, who helped me figure out what promotions were running so I could get discounted! I've easily paid 3x for 1/2 the amount of treatment I got at Aspen. We chatted about what was on my X-rays & the recommended next steps. We then got to work! The office was packed but they figured out ways to squeeze me in, which was super appreciated. I came back the second day. After what must have been a million cavities filled, I feel no pain!!! Woot they even took the time at the end on the fillings to give me a chance to feel around my teeth & told me what to look for (a cliff). Dr. Boling offered that if anything felt weird, they could shape it better! Oh & I almost forgot Gema one of the assistants even took pity on me when I mentioned that I had forgotten to eat breakfast or lunch & gave me some of her food!!! Fair warning, I don't think she brings enough for all patients ;) I definitely recommend this place! Btw - they even have TV at the operating chair! I see a lot of bad reviews and I don't know why but I've never had a bad experience. I'm never in the waiting room longer than 10 minutes. They are in network with my insurance so mostly everything is covered. Twice they have tried to make me pay like a copay in the system because of how something was fixed in the system but both times my issue was resolved with no problem. I live in Atlanta now but I still choose to come here sometimes when I'm in town. I just call and see if they have availability and they get me through the door. They are very informative and helpful. I also went through them to get my wisdom teeth removed before my braces got too far along. The process was smooth and my insurance didn't cover it all so they helped me do a payment plan. Also they are helping me transfer to the office in Atlanta near me with no problem. If I could give zero stars I would...my husband went in for a simple tooth extraction and ended up in the hospital. My husband passed out and was unresponsive for 5-10 minutes before they came and got me! When police arrived he barely had a pulse! The ER said he was overdosed on local anesthesia and speaking with my husband the dentist gave him 10 shots of anesthesia! INSANE! Went back to the dentist to be told the ambulance and hospital bill is on us when it was their fault! We will never be back! read more

Do not trust this place. It is all about making money. One Dr. there told me I needed a root canal, I make the appointment I go in I seat, a different dr. comes in, studies the X-Rays and tells me your tooth is fine you do not need a root canal. It's been a year and my tooth is just fine, looked at by a second Dr. all is well. Second issue I go in for cleaning and the hygienist tells me I have Periodontal disease and I ASAP need a Periodontal Deep cleaning, she had an opening in 15 minutes, so I go talk to the front office, they do tell me it will cost 1,800.00 but I have Dental insurance and they will file for me. Long story short, my insurance does not pay for Periodontal/Gingivitis, so I pay out of pocket, then I go for another deep Periodontal cleaning in 4 months, they tell me I need to be back in 4 months, so I make the appointment. I happen to be in Europe, so I go to my Dentist there to get my 4 month deep cleaning there. He checks me and he tells I DO NOT HAVE GINGIVITIS, My teeth and gums are great! SO ASPEN DENTAL on Shallowford Road are obviously are after your money, first I needed a Root Canal then I have Gingivitis, I paid them a lot of money, I will not ever set foot there. I just moved to town and had heard of Aspen Dental, so I called and made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. I had just gotten a new job, meaning new insurance, so I had the normal one x-ray, 2 cleanings a year. I always go 2 times a year. After Aspen did my X-rays a dentist came by and told me before they could schedule a cleaning, I would have to fork $200 up for a gingivitis treatment that wasn't covered by my insurance and $100 for an electric toothbrush. I didn't think that was necessary since no other dentist had ever mentioned that I had gingivitis. Aspen told me I could not schedule a cleaning until after I had paid upfront the $300 out of pocket. Therefore, I went somewhere else whom confirmed I don't have gingivitis. Don't go there if at all possible. read more

On my first consultation visit prior to a teeth cleaning appointment , the dentist or whoever poked around in my mouth for 15 seconds advised "she was comfortable not having the hygienist come in and look at my teeth". Let's fast forward to the actual teeth cleaning , turns out there was extensive periodontal issues , and a deeper cleaning necessary something they should have caught during the consultation which resulted in a surprise 50$ fee. After getting comped 50$ for their incompetent staff I was coerced into scheduling an appointment at the exact time I was scheduled to leave work for a dental cleaning "second session" and was advised to call ahead and let the office staff know. After that session the office staff had advised me the only charge for the second staff would be the fluoride treatment which my insurance didn't cover. Fine, that was fair. Fast forward to the next visit, in the car I'm calling to let them know I'm Running late. Me: "I'm just calling ahead because I was advised by the hygienist to let you know about the appointment scheduling. " Office staff : "Ooooooookkkkkkaaayy" Me: I apologize but the hygienist insisted for the appt to be at five and to call ahead Office staff: "okkkkkkkkaaayyyyyyyy" Upon arrival , lo and behold the front desk person is advising me I owe 165$ for this visit, despite the information and paperwork that was printed and given to me on my last visit. This is a scam. I was very disappointed once I got to the financial overview portion w the company. At first I was impressed w the office staff and the dentist. I went in for a toothache but in order to treat my tooth they required a deep cleaning treatment around the tooth even though there was no cavity on the tooth itself. I was willing to do it until price was finally disclosed. This deep cleaning would have been over $3,000 for two visits. I previously had a deep cleaning done a few years ago and it was around $300. After googling pricing online that provided a high end cost of around $900, I cancelled my appointment with Aspen Dental. I will not be back there. Please educate yourself and use caution before going to Aspen Dental. I now see tons of similar stories online about their bad practices and a lot of them revolves around deep cleanings and overcharging. read more

I visited the location at Shallowford Rd in Chattanooga Tn and after paying out over $6000.00 I now need repairs totaling over $7,000.00 posted below is my experience. As a direct result of services or lack of I am suffering from pain when I consume hot or cold foods when they come in contact with the tooth that Aspen Dental did the crown on. I am afraid my front teeth will chip while consuming any type of food. I trusted Aspen Dental would provide me with the proper treatment when they invoiced me for services that I would receive from them. So I could consume any types of food. On my second visit I was to get fillings on my front teeth and after Dr Patel started the work she told me I needed another filling on a additional tooth that did not even show on the x-Ray and was not part of the price invoiced to do the work. Dr Patel also told me there would be an additional charge to do the work so she had to stop the work I already paid for to sign a consent form to do so. I did not sign the consent form, I wrote refused. The next words from Dr Patel "these fillings need to be crowns" I did not respond to her statement nor did she quote me a price. I was floored by Dr Patel's comments. After I got home I realized what happened was very disturbing, in how could Dr Patel know that tooth needed a filling when it did not appear on the x-ray and why would she even do the fillings when she told me they should have been crowns. What is the purpose of doing the X-ray's in the first place? Why did Dr Patel not tell me that the fillings needed to be crowns before she even started working on my front teeth? After all she knew before she even started working on my front teeth that the front teeth needed to be crowns. I believe it was because once she started the work I would have no choice to do the work at an additional charge. I was told by Dr Patel on my last visit I needed a root canal instead of a crown. Dr Patel never gave me a price nor did she get a consent form to either do the work or my refusal to have the work performed. I believe they drilled so deep into this tooth so I would need further repair at an additional fee. Aspen Dental provided me with an invoice not an estimate. The difference being an estimate could mean the dollar amount charged could be higher or lower. An invoice is final and if any additional work was needed it should have been done at no charge. The fact being Aspen Dental did their own x-rays. I believe that Aspen Dental is involved in overcharging consumers and recommending services that are not necessary. I myself was told additional work was needed on 2 separate visits that was not included in my invoice. I spoke to 2 different patients on my visits to the location on Shallowford Rd in Chattanooga Tn and they told me that they also were told additional work would be necessary. In my case Aspen Dental did work on a front tooth that did not even show up on their own x-Ray. There is no way a dentist can detect that a tooth needs a repair without an x-Ray to support the need. The whole purpose of x-rays are to support the recommendations made by a dentist or a doctor. The consent form that I signed (refused) is the deal breaker because if they fail to provide this for review it would be borderline criminal behavior and a cover up. If they are unable to provide this document my claim can still be verified with my dental records. Example would be that they charged for one filling but the chart indicates that they did two would only support my claim of a cover up. If this is found to be true I would recommend that any office that the owner of the Shallowford Rd has be audited by an independent source so that they can assure consumers that repairs recommended are truly legitimate. There is also a huge difference in the cost I was billed for services and the amounts posted on their website. This may well be another case of overcharging customers for increased profits on Aspen Dental behalf. After all I went to the office from the information listed on the website. read more

this is the second time i have been to an aspen dental. both times they do the most to charge the most and end up with you having to choose no anesthesia due to the fact that even though i have a monthly disability check and could have paid the ridiculous overage fees who in their right mind would choose to go to a place that the "surgeon" refuses to schedule an appointment till all our of pocket costs are paid in advance. i have medicare and a dental plan but $1771.40 for anesthesia to remove an impacted wisdom tooth or no anesthesia and still having to pay out of pocket almost $400 is bonkers and all of the aspen dental stores should just stop saying they accept cigna because you use up all they are allotted for the entire year on just x-rays and then cant even tell you after asking 3 times how much just those are going to cost but you can add up those overages on the dot. you all should be ashamed of taking advantage of people when they are clearly on a budget. read more

I was unable to get an appt to my usual dentist last week for a cleaning so I scheduled with Aspen for a cleaning for the very next day. My last dentist appt with my regular dentist was just back in April 2017- this year which then they discovered I had a touch of gingivitis and I needed to do something about it quick and make sure Im flossing and making reg dentist visits before it evolves to something more sinister like periodontal disease. So cool. Instead of them just cleaning my teeth, they had to xray and then give me a dental treatment which I understand to some degree, I am a new customer so they want to make sure they give a full scope of what my standing is dentally (if that is a word) Boy when they were through, I needed 5000 dollars worth of work (some for bridges for previous teeth I had removed) but about 3000 of said estimate was towards treating periodontal disease. Periodontal disease? Not just the beginning stage, oh no.. Moderate peridontal disease. I mean I have been recently to the dentist and it seems unfeasible that I could have so soon progressed to full blown periodontal disease. They insisted that it had. All week I was upset, in fear of losing all my teeth, Because they laid it on thick--bone loss this, tooth decay that- fall out teeth-- damn. How did it come to this? I cried and I cried because even though my insurance pays a good lump, I still needed to come up with 1200 for the treatment. I dont know about u but I dont have an extra 1200 dollars. My teeth are nearly perfect, no cavities. I wanted a second opinion, better yet, I scheduled with my regular dentist for the next week, (which is today) I did not say anything in regards to what Aspen told me, just let them do the cleaning. I figured if there was a time to mention that I had PD disease, this would be the time with the hygienist right in my mouth cleaning. She mentioned no such thing. So after the cleaning I asked her about it. Stellar. No cavities. She congratulated me for regularly flossing (even though I hadnt mentioned it, she could tell that i had been ) which is in stark contrast to what money grubbing Aspen dental had to say about these deep pockets. Furthermore the dentist came in and shared the hygienist sentiments even relaying more than once how beautiful my teeth are. On my first visit, I just needed a bridge put back in that fell out, which Aspen Dental in Peru, IL put in in October of 2016. The women on the phone told me since I hadn't been to a dentist since October of 2016, I needed cleaning, an exam and x-rays. I got to my first appointment on 7/6/2018. They took 2 x-rays on my right side where the bridge fell out. I then went back and the Hygenist came in and looked at, what I thought were my x-rays, and told me I had bad bone loss. I looked at her and stated, "Really!" This must have happened in just a year and a half because I got a good report on my last visit in 2016. She took my measurements and then I got to looking at the x-ray that was posted up on the monitor. I asked if that was long dangling earrings in the x-ray and the Hygenist stated, "Yes they were." I then stated, "Look at my earrings, they are not dangling." I then stated, "Those are not my x-rays." She then stated, "Yes, I was checking that out because your numbers were not adding up to be as bad as this x-ray was showing." She then apologized over and over again for the mistake. I then told her, "You all need to be very careful who's x-rays you pull up because you could cause other patients to pay more than they needed and they would know no different." She agreed! I went again on 7/10/18 to get a cleaning, so I thought, and low and behold, they were taking more x-rays for the bridge that they thought had to be put back in. I told her that had already been done, so she took a whole set of x-rays. I went back to the chair and the Dentist came in to check my teeth and he said he could not see any cavities. He also, drilled down my bridge a little more for a better bite. Next thing I know, I had someone come in and quote me a high price of over four hundred dollars for a cleaning. I questioned her and she stated to me it was because of my severe bone loss, they had to do more detail cleaning. I tried to explain to her that they had my x-rays mixed up with someone else's and she just acted like I was fibbing to her. That's when I got up and told her I was done with this place and that you all have tried to screw me over more than once. I told her I didn't have severe bone loss and those were the wrong x-rays. I then left, never to return to such a bad, unorganized, unprofessional place. When you come in and have to tell them what to do because the staff is so unorganized. BE careful folks! Well, it's hard for me to really rate this Aspen location as I was FIRED as a patient before I had my first visit! My 34-year-old daughter had a troubling visit where she asked too many questions of Dr. Boling, who finally told her to FIND ANOTHER DENTIST. Of course, insurance had already paid in full for the entire treatment plan and so my daughter is now having to figure out what it will cost for her to have another dentist complete the volume of work that has NOT yet been done and what it will cost her. Fast forward to today, when my husband called to make an appointment to continue a treatment plan that had already been started only to find that our ENTIRE FAMILY HAD BEEN FIRED. Yes, I said FIRED. Not for anything my husband had done. And not for anything I had done, since I have never been seen. Nope, we were FIRED because our adult daughter was FIRED and also because she had posted on HER FACEBOOK PAGE information regarding her negative experience. HER FACEBOOK PAGE! That means that this Aspen Dental office is so paranoid about negative reviews that they sought out my daughter's page to see if she had written anything about them!!! I had went for an upper denture. I received a temporary & was to go back for the permanent. I chose to get my permanent at a different location. Aspen Dental filed my temporary as a permanent & now we are stuck with an unreasonable bill. I threw out my old temporary because that is just what it was, a temporary. Also, when I received my temporary they did not let me look at myself to see if I was even okay with the look. I do NOT recommend them! read more
