My fiance was kind enough to put out $2.000.00 for the signature elite denture for me. I had been having dental issues for two years and it was awful. I got the dentures and they broke completely in half in only two months. I wasn't eating anything super hard and the teeth are already wearing down. There's absolutely no way these teeth are what they are claiming! They claim to be crack resistant, chip resistant and some of the best dentures you can buy. This is all a scam and very sad cause I'm back to having dental issues again and it shouldn't be this way. I will never go back to them again for any of their services. I'm now waiting for items I purchased online to hopefully fix them. I'm too embarrassed to tell my fiancé because he spent so much money on the signature elite denture and now this. I sent my 18-year-old daughter to consult about getting her wisdom teeth pulled out I called. They said they would do it. She called to make the appointments. They said they could do wisdom teeth after she gets there. They do x-rays and tell her she needs four cavities. She has a gum disease. She just left our dentist office and they didn't see any of this stuff And then they tell me that they don't do the wisdom teeth and they're gonna refer me to somebody else this is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. For anyone in need of dentures I wouldn't go ANYWHERE other than Aspen Dental. I went to my regular dentist and they tried two different times with my upper denture and BOTH sets were a horrible fit, I would open my mouth and the denture would drop down. No suction at all. The bite was way off. The teeth were too large on one set. They did digital and I would RUN as far as you can from that procedure. They might look nice but the fit...Horrible. I was without teeth for 6 months!!!! I got refunded my money and Aspen Dental got me in the next day. I will cut this short and say I had my new teeth in 2 and a half WEEKS!!! The staff at Aspen Dental, I can't say enough good things about. From the front desk, to the dental assistant Oscar, to Dr. Leyes and of course the DENTURE MAKER that is ON SITE. No sending teeth in to a lab and waiting 2 weeks to a month. I was treated with respect and dignity at Aspen Dental of Appleton Wi. I highly recommend. I was looking for a new dentist, as my original one, who I had been seeing since I had teeth, wasn't taking my insurance and I was tired of paying out of pocket for cleanings every time, so I figured I would look around for a new one, and came across Aspen, who is under my insurance. I knew they weren't going to clean my teeth the first appointment, (which I found a little odd, but I figured it was a, "get to know you now to figure out what we need to do, and do the cleaning later." type of thing.) But I had gotten there, and they fill out some paperwork, and one girl took me to the x-ray room to do x-rays. Now, I have a small mouth and new I would have problems getting the thing in my mouth, but this was the first time I ever got a really bad sore on the top of my mouth as a result of that, and it's been about four days and it's just starting to not hurt anymore. I didn't think they made sure it was in my mouth correctly without it hurting me. I had gotten to the dentist's chair where I was met with another girl and they had made a virtual mold or whatever of my mouth. then the dentist comes in (keep track, this is three people already) and talks to me about how my xrays look good, and my teeth look pretty solid. She then pokes around in my mouth, calls out numbers related to my gums, and tells me I have gingivitis and needed a gum irrigation and an antibacterial mouth rinse I would take home and use the next time I come in for an appointment. (spoiler alert, there won't be a next time.) Then she tried to sell me a water flosser and a very expensive electric toothbrush, which felt very, "used car salesman" to me. Then this man came in, poked around in my mouth for a bit and repeated the same thing the dentist told me. and THEN I met with yet another person, who was very kind and personable. we talked about finances and insurance and such, and if I were to have bought the water flosser and the toothbrush, it would have been $300 for those things alone. Now I looked on Amazon for a water flosser and the exact toothbrush the dentist was talking about and it wasn't even half that for the total. So I don't know where $300 came from, but alright. Overall, the whole experience felt very robotic to me, and like everyone was mentally detached. I don't know if it was because I was the last appointment of the day or what, but regardless, you should treat every patient that comes in like you actually care about them, you know? And it also felt like it was a huge sales pitch, from the toothbrush and the water flosser, to the treatments they were suggesting. I mean, I know people are always trying to seel their goods and services to people to make money, but at least be personable and relatable when doing it. I also with the amount of people who were involved, (5) and with how many rooms I was going into, I felt like I was on an assembly line being passed on to the next person. It was just very impersonal, robotic, and very emotionally and mentally detached from me as a person, as a human, and more so to my wallet. Needless to say, I won't be going back, and I will be going back to my regular dentist because I'd rather have an experience that is fulfilling, and makes me feel good about myself and have to pay out of pocket than what I had experienced at Aspen Dental. read more

My first time there--- Receptionist was not friendly. The ex-Ray machine was rusted and old. The exam room was dirty. I slid my finger over thick dust/dirt on one of the machines. Dr's were nice, but it is clear it it just a churn and burn office. I will look for a dentist that is not part of a large corporation ! When I made an appointment at Aspen Dental in Appleton, Wisconsin, I was told I would have x-rays done and also have my teeth cleaned at the same appointment. That was the first of many lies the team at Aspen Dental told. In the middle of taking the x-rays, the woman taking them told me they couldn't even fit me in for a cleaning at that time. When the dental hygienist (Mandy) came to take measurements, she quickly began calling out countless absurdly high measurements which was another red flag to confirm something was definitely majorly wrong with these "dental professionals." The dentist, Katherine Leyes, (she is the practice owner which makes this situation even more concerning) came into the room after the measurements were completed and made a ridiculously over the top theatrical scene exclaiming about "bone loss" acting like I was in the most dire situation. The team pretended as if I, all of a sudden, had gum disease that must be managed immediately because it was so awful. My entire experience at Aspen Dental in Appleton made me think of Scott Charmoli, a Wisconsin dentist who intentionally damaged patients' teeth to aid a fraud scheme. In 2022, Charmoli was sentenced to prison time. As the trail of red flags continued, at the end of my visit at Aspen Dental, the woman from finance came to get me to discuss the estimate and payment for future visits. She said there was a lot that insurance wasn't going to cover for future appointments and that I would need three separate appointments for everything they hoped to do. She also added an electric toothbrush and a water flosser without asking me, even though I had already told the entire team that I currently use my own electric toothbrush and my own water flosser. As I continued to question the situation, she printed out a document showing everything included on the proposed estimate. There were a variety of other items and procedures listed that I would never approve since there is absolutely no need for them. She also said that they would need to complete scaling and root planing and additional items which, if approved by me, would allow them to bill my insurance for $2,451.99 and they hoped to have me pay $516.39 out of pocket for procedures that would majorly harm my dental health, not help it, and could damage my gums in an irreversible way just so they can stuff their pockets in an attempt to fulfill their insatiable greed. Before visiting Aspen Dental in Appleton, all my dentist visits in my entire life had always gone flawlessly. I am seen every six months and regardless of the dentist or dental hygienist, my measurements and care routine have always been healthy, similar and accurate with x-rays yearly and cleanings twice yearly. Three days after my exam at Aspen Dental by Katherine Leyes, I visited a different dental clinic in Appleton. The dentist that completed my exam three days after the exam by Katherine Leyes said there is no bone loss at all in my x-rays. He also said I most definitely don't need scaling, root planing and any of Aspen Dental's proposed procedures and items. He confirmed my teeth, gums and overall dental health are all healthy and in great shape as always. I had my usual basic cleaning at that visit like always. I went in and they said I needed a crown so they put a temp in and the when the crown came in it didn't fit so then they put that crown on anyway and it kept falling out and they wouldn't let me come in without n appointment then we try a second time then the crown was to high my teeth a jaw hurt super bad and my back tooth is turning sideways mind you all my teeth are straight so I go in and I thought she was going to shave the crown down and instead shaved all my top teeth down and now my jaw sits back to far and I wake up in super pain every morning and my profile looks like I have no chin and I'm super depressed over this ohh don't let me forget she Also recommend I get braces and I'm 41 years old and my back tooth is only sideways cause of this! Contrary to these other reviews I feel that Aspen did a fantastic job. Although some of the reviews are accurate in what to expect there seems to be a misunderstanding from them about how dentistry works. I'm going to point out a few things (as briefly as possible) about why: First - you can't walk into a dentist office and expect an immediate root canal or extraction just because you are in pain. They need to thoroughly evaluate your condition and get you to either a specialist that does (Aspen doesn't do root canals) or plan your surgery accordingly. They have no idea when you come in what to prep for. You can't realistically expect them to do a same day extraction unless absolutely immediately needed and with much more risk. If it's that bad, an emergency room is where you should be to manage the pain for correct care. My scenario: I had extreme pain in my tooth and knew I had neglected getting work done. I was schedule via Aspen the SAME day due to that pain and they did a lot of what was described in other reviews but I did not find this a put off, rather a blessing that things were done efficiently. The staff was courtesy and answered any questions I had. Not only did they get the needed X-rays and diagnosis to get me referred correctly and quickly, they ensured that I was informed of my options. The X-rays were uncomfortable as they would be for anyone in pain but also needed and done as quickly as possible (she never had to retake one, and was patient when I asked for a moment here and there. I would confidently recommend this office to my friends/family but would also recommend considering that they handle a lot of emergency or "quick care" situations, so when you go in, appreciate how quickly they got you in, understand wait times may occur (maybe the emergency before you DID require immediate surgery/extraction and caused an unavoidable delay, and know that they have many resources to the right people for your situation. I'm ONLY giving this a 4 based on to give a 5 it must be literally out of this world. I'd describe Aspen as excellent. I'll be back and have my root canal scheduled. the antibiotics they prescribed eased my pain almost completely after just a few doses! And keep up with your regular dental work! At the end of the day, lack of that is why I landed there. Not their fault, all me!!!! read more

Aspen dental is worst dentist I ever had. I rated a one star , but I wanted to put zero star rating. Dentist don't care about their patient. Just pound on your teeth with metal tool, to try and chip or crack your teeth. So they can charge people over 1,300.00 to put a crown on a fractured tooth,that they fractured. I had a change in insurance last year which meant Aspen Dental was now the only place nearby on my plan. I read the online reviews and was disappointed because it didn't sound good. I decided since the first appointment was covered by insurance it didn't hurt to give them a try. I used to go regularly for cleanings every 6 months, but hadn't gone in 18 months due to COVID fears, so I was overdue. When I went in they refused to do the cleaning because I had buildup from putting it off and according to them it required a deep cleaning that was more expensive and had to be done in a couple of appointments. I admit I was angry because it sounded like they were doing the price gouging stuff many reviewers wrote about. I was quite rude to them and left. I spent the next few days looking in the mirror and reading articles on what they suggested needed to be done. After my own reflection on it I decided they were indeed correct. I went in and had the work done and could immediately tell a huge difference so it was definitely needed. Before the appointment the staff gave me a written price quote for the work and even went through it line by line and helped me remove items we agreed weren't necessary to keep the cost down. When it was finally time for the cleaning appointment I was charged exactly what was quoted. Yesterday I had my 6 month cleaning appointment, so this has now been like my 4th time going there. The day before the appointment they called to tell me over the phone what the cost would be after insurance for yesterday's appointment so there would be no surprises. They were true to their word. The appointment yesterday was super quick and easy. My teeth feel great and healthy again. Even after I was initially rude to several staff members they have always treated me with respect and understanding. They were firm in what they communicated and didn't sugar-coat anything. I appreciate that. I have to say after being upset about leaving my long-time prior dentist I have found a new favorite dental location. Maybe I was a bit irritated since I hate going to the dentist (haven't been to one in years). BUT, I was very disappointed in my visit to Aspen Dental today and will not be coming back. There's a lot of paperwork to fill out (is this really necessary ..) for your first appointment. And, if you thought you were getting a cleaning your first time there, think again!! I guess they "called me to tell me this" but, what they did is leave a voice mail saying "call us back about your appointment". Very sneaky. If I would have known I wasn't getting a cleaning, I wouldn't have gone. So what DO they do during your first appointment? First I was taken back to the chair and told the Dr needed to come check so she knows what x-rays to take ... ? Okay, then she takes a ton of x-rays with this very uncomfortable plastic thing that seemed too big for my mouth. It hurt, I could actually taste blood when we were done... Moving on, then we went back to the chair, someone else comes in and starts rattling off numbers 212 223 113 323... ?? Never told me what she was doing beforehand. I had no idea what was going on.. I think after she said something about gingivitis, but honestly she spoke so fast, almost sounded scripted, didn't understand anything what she said. By this point I ask the other girl, when do I get my cleaning? To which she replied, "oh no we don't do that on the first visit". What?! Then, the Dr came back to look in my mouth for about 45 seconds. No handshake nice to meet you, they spoke to you with their backs turned, very unprofessional overall. Then, I had to go see ANOTHER girl about my insurance and setting up the appt for my cleaning. Really... seemed like lots of running around, different girls coming in and leaving, nothing to make me feel welcome or comfortable (again .. haven't been to a dentist in a long time, hate going to dentists and I was a new patient, never been there before). They won't be getting my business in the future. I'll stick with the neighborhood dentist my family has seen for years. This place is shady and the people are rude. On my way out the door I passed the Dr, she looked right at me but completely ignored me, no "have a nice day" or anything. I didn't like that either. Overall, not a very pleasant experience, not very welcoming to new patients, didn't make me feel like they actually cared about me or the job they do. This place is a joke my husband went here to get his tooth check out cause it was hurting really bad. They gave him a prescription for antibiotics turns out they aren't authorized in the state of Wisconsin to give prescriptions out according to walgreens pharmacy. Not only this happen they tried to get my husband to do this procedure that cost 2,800 out of pocket and they want it fully paid no payment plans. They also said my husband had horrible teeth. We walked out and found another dentist that took our insurance found out my husband has awsome teeth beside one that got pulled due to a serious infection that cause blindness in one eye now my husband has infection in his brain do to this tooth being infected. A bunch of cons. Told me I needed a procedure called scaling. They didn't numb my mouth or go deep under my gums for cleaning. All it was was a really good scraping and cleaning. I read the reviews. I called anyways. I asked questions with the actual receptionist, not the first contact person that calls to get information and set up an appointment. Those people are an unnecessary first point of contact in my opinion, but it's not my business to run. I arrived at the Appleton office, filled out a whopping one page of required medical information, signed where they asked me to sign on two other pages. Tempted to be sarcastic to previous reviews about paperwork but I won't. Anyways, maybe I just got there on a good day, but it was quick, and professional and I found the staff to be quite friendly and willing to answer questions, and I did ask questions. They told me exactly what was going to happen, and when I asked about getting the work done on my tooth that I needed, they started immediately. First went back in 2016. Had not taken very good care of my teeth for years and had one broken that needed attention. First exam was free (I had no insurance). Set a care plan after exam. Everyone was super compassionate and non-judgmental about my past lax attitude about my teeth. Had a tooth go bad the other day (Feb, 2018). Called, they got me in that afternoon and fixed me up. If I could rate this place with a negative star rating, I would. Do not waste your time, money, energy or life going to this Aspen Dental. I had been having some tooth issues for awhile and decided that it was time to have them addressed. I had seen multiple commercials for Aspen Dental referencing free exam and x-ray for new patients, reasonable rates and in house financing so I thought I'd give them a try. I was uninsured at the time and after meeting with the dentist, we came up with a care plan that would cost $3200. That included fillings, cleanings etc. Being uninsured I opened a line of credit, in house, through their firm "Genesis Credit" for $3000. They found 5 cavities (yes it had been awhile since my last dental visit) through x-ray and when doing the initial cleaning, found one more for a total of 6. Some on top, some on bottom and on both sides of my mouth. They filled 3 and then a month later, filled the final 3. Within a matter of days I was having EXTREME pain in every single filling. I wasn't able to eat or drink anything hot or cold as the pain was almost crippling. I called Aspen Dental and said as much and they scheduled me for an appointment the following day. I showed up, they rubbed some type of gunk on my teeth and said it would help. It didn't. Still unbearable pain. 4 days later I got a bill for $60 for the gunk rubbed on my teeth which took a dental assistant about 45 seconds to do, did I mention it didn't work at all? On my next visit, the receptionist at the desk tried to tell me I was going to have to pay $145 for today's visit. I explained to her that my visit and cleaning was included in my original care plan and was covered by the amount I had borrowed through their credit agency. After 10 minutes and doing all but drawing her a picture, I finally got her to understand I owed nothing. This happened again on the next visit. And the next. At this point, all the fillings they did are still causing me extreme amounts of pain to which the dentist said "All you can do is pull the tooth and get an implant" then quoted me around $9000 to do that. Absolute crap. I've had fillings before and once filled, never bothered me again. Not to mention all my cavities were very shallow and superficial. They were clearly trying to get more money instead of addressing my issues and concerns. My next visit I was again told I had to pay for the visit. At this point I was at my wits end with the staff and the dentist that I just walked out never to return. I now have good dental insurance and will never step foot in that place again. I caution you to do the same. They are all money hungry, up-selling salesmen who only want your money and interest charges and literally couldn't care less about your oral hygiene, oral health or level of comfort. The dentist is totally incompetent as are the reception staff. They all, again, only want one thing; more money. Aspen Dental must get bonus' for extra work and people like me signing up for credit through them (which by the way has an INSANE interest rate even with a good credit rating) I now have to go to a competent dentist to have the work Aspen Dental did fixed so that I am no longer in constant pain when eating or drinking anything. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE. You will end up out money, time and most likely in some sort of oral pain with absolutely no recourse. read more

Then after the examination dentist told him he couldn't find anything wrong was going to just send him home like that. In consultation room my husband said it was so bad he couldn't wait any longer for help. Showed me it was wiggling. I told the lady in the consultation and she was pretty snippy and said well there the dr.'s. then I said well bring him in and I'll show him. So 2 dentist came in. With a lot if excuses the tooth was pulled and we were told it was cracked, abscess to the bone with infection in bone. Then we had to deal with trying to get them to reimburse us what we paid after the insurance paid. They've always been really polite and courteous to me. During the two procedures that I've had done there they have always gone out of there way to make sure I was comfortable and not in any pain at all. That's much appreciated. To comment on a previous reviewer's comment about "unnecessary tests". If you have never been to the dentist there is no such thing as "unnecessary tests". I took my mom here to just take a tooth out that she says had been aching for days and they did all these unnecessary tests on her. One of the lady that worked there in the back had asked when was the last time she has gone to a dentist and I said "never", she then gave me a disgusted look and was in disbelief. 1 star because zero wasn't an option. Doctor missed a cracked tooth in my exam. Later prepped it wrong after it broke on me (which would have been prevented had it been caught in the exam) which caused me to need an Endodontist. Keep in mind this cost me thousands instead of an insurance covered filling which was what it should have been had the correct diagnosis been made in exam. I had my teeth cleaned today. While I don't know anyone that likes going through this, this was more like torture. The person cleaning my teeth with the scraper continually stabbed my gums, making me jump at one point. Then she has the audacity to say something like, "you need to spend more time flossing then you wouldn't have so much tarter build up." I think I will get a cleaning done somewhere else. read more

I am not happy, I had upper temporary dentures made to be able to wear immediately after I had all my top teeth removed (elsewhere) and I feel they do not fit the roof area of my mouth, they are too long, I am continuing to gag whenever I wear them, everyday for the last 4 months, they have an extra pair of teeth, I do not have those 2 natural teeth on the bottom to match up with. If I try to push that back area up to fit the contour of my mouth then they do not (stay up) fit in the front of my mouth. I went in to get them to do what is needed to fit properly, they don't seem to understand if they don't match the shape, then they do not fit correctly (paid for to fit my mouth) and she said that is what creates suction that holds them up. I tried to explain that they are too long and that the very back part doesn't sit tight against the roof, I can fit the tip of my tongue between the dental plate and the top my mouth. I was told the permanent will be better, what am I suppose to do for another 2 months, gag to the point of vomiting anywhere from 5 -9 times a day? She said she can grind them down but then I won't have the suction I need. She even said something about getting implants (If I could afford $5,000.00 a tooth then I would have done that!). After my complaining they don't take a new mold of the roof of my mouth or don't look in my mouth while I have them in with a mirror to see the gap, how do I get them to realize they don't fit me. Instead they made me feel like it is fine just suffer until you get your permanent dentures (another 2 months). Not sure how to go about getting fitted for the permanent when a person does not know what a properly fitting feels like when I can only compare how miserable the temp feel, that I can't even keep in a few hours at a time. I can't simply drop everything to go back in for the main reason I went there for them to correct, that they did not correct. Why can't they take my word for it if I say they do not fit the length and contour I was born with. They did fill in the sloppy area in the gums, but that was not the most important problem, Gagging!!! It is kinda like putting on tennis shoes and someone telling me they fit correctly without measuring or feeling where my foot is inside of the shoe. I am thinking I made a mistake by not getting a denture at my (general) dentist office, instead of a specialty place that I assumed would be better for me, at least at any of the other dental offices I have had dental work done at if I was to tell them a crown does not feel like it fits right, they automatically do what is needed to fix the issue, the first time and not make you feel like it is your problem not theirs. More and more of my friends tease me by telling me I should have (anyone) in their garage grind them down since if they are told the plate is too far back that I gag they would believe me and attempt to fix the problem. read more
