We came in so near to closing that I felt bad, but the staff welcomed us warmly and we were not rushed in the slightest. Not only did we each order mains, but an appetizer, wine, they graciously brought my younger sons ice cream from the kid menu (well after closing time), and when we were trying to leave they brought espressos with biscotti and insisted we stay. The food was impeccable and authentic, made with love, excellently seasoned and well presented. I truly cannot recommend La Lombarda highly enough.

All pizzas are made fresh on the premesis to order in a proper Italian pizza oven giving them that real authentic taste. To complete the restaurant there's also a room downstairs for private functions and/or their busier times. During the weekend it would definately be advised to book in advance as they can get quite busy. As the restaurant is located on the corner of king street and castle gate, the location couldn't be much better for either grabbing a bite to eat while shopping during the day or having an enjoyable meal with a few pals before a night out.

The most unpleasant part of the meal was the terrible music. The service was great and the food was delivered in a timely fashion. Overall, great service, good food, awful music.

I am not sure if it's just me or Aberdeen doesn't know what good/great restaurants are (as per…read moreTripadvisor), but for me, food at Aperitivo is just normal. Saying that, I don't mean it was bad, just something I don't need to go to restaurant for, unless it is a work lunch. Lunches are suppose to be good according to my friends (around £9.95), but the rest of the food is not value for money for me. First time I was there I had a lasagne and it was rather tasteless. The second time I had a lamb shank. The lamb was nice and tender, falling off the bone, however the pasta was swimming in tasteless tomato and wine sauce. I thought third time lucky as friend seemed to like it there. I had a rib eye steak and again, I thought I can get better elsewhere on BBQ and the presentation of all dishes was quite poor. Maybe I was just not lucky to choose the right dishes, as partner had OK creamy pasta. Food - average Service - very good and pleasant Timing - good Atmosphere - if lucky with weather, they are one of not many places in Aberdeen with sitting outside on the 'sunny' side
