I must say, there is something exciting about going to little eateries out in the suburbs, where there is no line, no bustle, and just the smell of good food. I must add that Asiatte does not disappoint in this aspect.
90% of the menu is Bento Box's, not that it matters. IF you do something well, then why not do more of it hey?????
First trip I started with a Teriyaki Chicken Bento, and asked them not to put the Miso soup on there as I am not a fan.
The Bento was delivered to the table quickly and with a hurried smile, and I noticed that they had replaced the Miso with a Gyoza. A nice unexpected touch, and one I was appreciative of. Alongside the chicken was some steamed rice, and small salad (with a delicious dressing) and also a small ball of sweet mashed potato with corn in it.
The sauce on the chicken was delicious and sweet, and was offset well with the rice. The salad and mash was well thought out, and also assisted on cutting through the sweetness of the sauce.
My last two visits, I have got the Bento but with Kara age Chicken. The chicken is delicious and is sprinkled with some Japanese spice. Ask for some Japanese mayo on the side, and deep these fried little chicken bites in it, and for under 10 bucks, you have yourself a delicious lunch. read more
