While at the bookstore, just down the street, I ask if they knew of a good thai restaurant. Asian Thai Bistro they said so we went to see. On our way we stopped at the quilt store next door to the restaurant, we snuck in just as they were closing and told them we were headed to the Asian Thai Bistro. Oh they said it a great place. So after two positive recommendation we went in. The service was swift, wait staff friendly and the food delicious. Me; Pad Thai with fried tofu and my partner; Green curry with Broccoli. Both very flavorful and just enough heat to generate a few beads.

My husband and I have eaten A LOT of different Thai places! Today, we decided to give Asian Thai Bistro a try. Walking in, the first thing you notice is how roomy the restaurant is. The staff are super friendly!!! Very! I've been to restaurants and the staff completely ruins your day! Not here! They were staffed very well for dinner time on a random Wednesday. I counted about 3 running the front and 3 in the back. We ordered a total of 5 dishes. 2 salads and 3 mains. Didn't really expect much, but to both of our surprise ALL of our dishes were pretty good! Overall, we were super happy and WOULD come back. The only thing I would say is, we did ask for a spicy level of 5. Which is the highest it goes. So the spice could've been on the higher end and we would've been in love! Also, their Thai iced tea is HUGE!! The biggest portion I've ever received from a restaurant. We will be back for sure!

if you're out in Gresham and looking for a healthy lunch I highly recommend this place. it's the standard choice when it comes to lunch but they do have the added option of brown rice. The spicy eggplant is top choice. The inside is cool and has a nice atmosphere. Never too crowded.

We have had DoorDash Delivery from Asian Thai Bistro twice now, and oh my lanta! We are very impressed!! The selection of different types of Asian and Thai dishes is spectacular! The prices are extremely reasonable (even for DD) and it's always delicious, hot, and fresh!! Can't say enough about how much I love the cuisine and craftsmanship of each recipe and I can't wait to get more of the Appetizers and Dishes featured on their menu! Bravo ATB, definitely our new staple Asian Cuisine restaurant!!

    Red curry with vegetables

First time. Got take away tonight 14 December 2022. Got red curry with vegetables, tofu salad rolls and papaya salad. Curry had good flavor but they didn't spice it hot as I requested also; the veggies were just mostly eggplant and I really don't know what else I think I seen a broccoli and some green beans but their were not many veggies and they were all over cooked. Next the tofu salad rolls they were pretty good . The papaya salad on a scale of 1 to 10 it was a 4 the shredded papaya was was so finely shred that it couldn't stay firm in the sauce. Also I asked for medium heat and it was very mild. The attending lady was pleasant. The restaurant it self is spacious and feels kind of more like a coffee shop then a restaurant. But still very clean and very nice. It's it bit of a distance to get to. So keep that in mind if your coming from Portland or Vancouver

The interior has 2 levels so we were seated at a table on the main floor. My mother ordered a vegan pad woon sen and salad rolls. My spouse had tempura shrimp and tempura calamari. I ordered the mixed seafood Pad Ka Pao. My dish was very good. Hitting the sweet, sour, salty, savory sauce over expertly cooked vegetables. The calamari in my dish and in the tempura were overcooked and rubbery, but the tempura batter on both the shrimp and calamari were shatteringly crisp. The salad rolls were great. Unfortunately, the bar was unable to serve my spouse the cocktail she wanted due to lack of ingredients. This seemed unusual since we were seated early evening with no other customers. I couldn't get the tap beer of my choice as their tap was broken. The service was OK and he did follow up with us during dinner. The decor was average but the water spots on the ceiling tiles were a little off putting. I do plan to return as there were many dishes on the menu that I really want to try. Still cost less than $100 for 3 with drinks and tip.

Because I will be back. We started off strong with a table full of appetizers. It was one of those "everyone grab something" moments, and listen... I had been up since 6am, starving, and completely forgot to take pictures until it was basically too late. But trust me, that alone should tell you how good it was. Crab puffs? Gone. Creamy, crispy perfection. Fried spring rolls? Devoured without hesitation. But that salt and pepper shrimp?? LISTEN. It tasted like somebody's grandma was in the back cooking with love. I could've eaten that as my full meal 10 times over and still asked for more. Then came the angel wings... OMG. At this point I was already full, borderline mad about it, because I wanted to keep eating. And I'm not usually a leftovers person....but these? Plus that one last shrimp sitting there? Oh no... they came home with me. And the best part? EVERYONE loved their food. No misses at the table. If you're debating, don't. Just go. And go hungry.

We came on Friday, 9/25, with my parents and my son, hoping to enjoy some fried rice and a nice meal together. We were seated quickly, and the restaurant was not busy. Ken took our order, but from the beginning, his attitude toward us felt unwelcoming. I noticed that he seemed much friendlier and more welcoming toward other customers, which made me uncomfortable and left me wondering if we were being treated differently because we are Asian. I tried to ignore it because we were hungry and just wanted to enjoy our meal. However, my son then told me that he did not like the taste of the complimentary water. As a mother, I went back to our rental car and brought in a half-full bottle of Smartwater that we already had with us. When I came back into the restaurant, Ken rudely told me, in front of other customers, that outside drinks were not allowed. I explained that my son did not like the taste of the water they provided, but Ken insisted that we purchase a drink from the restaurant. I also pointed out that there was no sign on the entrance or anywhere that we could see stating that outside drinks were not allowed. Even if this is the restaurant's policy, it could have been communicated politely and respectfully. What bothered me most was not the policy itself, but the way I was treated. I felt singled out and embarrassed in front of other customers. I also noticed that Ken appeared much warmer and friendlier toward customers of other ethnicities, which made the experience even more uncomfortable for my family. Ken, if you are the owner or manager, I hope you take this experience seriously and remind your staff that every customer deserves to be treated with the same respect and courtesy, regardless of their background or appearance. You never know what someone may already be going through, and a little kindness can make a big difference. The other employees we interacted with were much nicer and welcoming. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I would rather support other local restaurants when visiting Portland. I have also attached photos showing that there was no visible notice at the entrance regarding a no-outside-drinks policy. I still gave him a 15% tip coz my family and I are not like that.

I recently had a pretty good experience at the Esan Thai food cart with the pineapple curry with chicken. After spending several days hanging out with my cousin who is "just not a curry person," I needed to have some good curry. Ideally, Thai food is best when shared with enough people to order curry, Pad Thai, fried rice, Satay, and dessert, but, if I had to pick just one thing, it's always curry. This cart had a wide selection of all my favorite curries, including pineapple, green, red, yellow, massaman, and panaeng, so it was hard to choose, but I ultimately went with pineapple. For $15, I thought the portion of curry was decent enough (about a quart), although the side of rice was only about half a cup. Still, I was able to make it work by letting the rice soak in the curry for several minutes before eating it. The fish sauce flavor was barely discernable, which is how I like it. I only really noticed it on one particular basil leaf. The chicken was perfectly cooked and marinated in the curry. The vegetables were fresh and delicious, but I just wished there was more of them. Customer service was friendly but not over the top friendly. It only took about six or seven minutes for my order to be ready. Overall this is the most legit Thai food spot I've found in the area so far, so I would definitely stop by again to try some of their other curries.
