Small puddle of Green Curry

The food is decent, but $14 for a bowl of mostly bamboo and cabage? Or $14 for veggie Phad Thai (cabage, carrots, 1 broccoli top and a dollars worth of noodles). Their price increase has made Thai Curry a once in a while treat.

Delicious tofu fresh rolls and I love the peanut sauce. This has all the favorites like pad thai tempura and Thai hot sour soup which are very good but the spicy catfish will make your dinner perfect

Watch out for this financial scam printed in front of their menus.

I would give this place 3.5 stars but it's not allowing me to do half star. The Thai Fried Rice was great, as well as the Veggie Delight which comes with steamed rice. They really have great taste. The crab puffs was very good too. And the service was fast. What I didn't like here is the financial scam in front of its menu. They will charge additional $5 if you order one dish and split it between 2 people. I don't think it's right. It's none of their business how you eat what you ordered. Also the waiter/sever was not very friendly and not very considerate.

Beef Noodle Soup (Pho) Thai Curry Style

This is a one-hit review. I came here for a close by soup fix because they offered beef noodle soup and wasn't willing to travel far. First impression was the place is small but relatively clean. Service is slow and sub-par. The guy working the orders and tables didn't seem to be particularly friendly or at least in the beginning. Very cut to the chase, doesn't care for small talk, but will get your order. Although, did see a hint of a smile and thanks when I gave a reasonable tip after the visit. Seems like most people come here pre-ordered to pick up their food for take home rather than eat in. Probably good reason for that. Part of the eat-in experience certainly caused some annoyance when some of the customers sitting nearby were blatantly loudly listening to their (what I can only assume) their FB wall posts on their cellphones. Nobody seemed to care, including the staff. Very disrespectful, I thought, when you are trying to eat your meal. The beef noodle soup was...ok. It did have decent flavor, especially after I added some heat to the broth. However, the beef was a little suspect in my opinion. Wasn't a lot and what was there was very chewy and gristle-y in some. Lots of noodles, some scallions, moderate portion of sprouts, some basil leaves, and a few slices of jalapeno. Certainly overpriced at $12 ($15 with tip) for most places. At some point, I may come back and try some of the more traditional Thai dishes that they offer when the mood strikes and update this review.

Pad Thai was super very delicious, hot, fresh and made quickly. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you haven't tried this location, you should.

If you live in Gresham, Troutdale, Damascus, or east Portland areas, this is the best thai around that you will find! I've been to EVERY single one around these areas and none compare. Because of its location I have never even thought of coming here but I this place was constantly getting recommended to me by friends and coworkers, so I decided to give it a try. So far after a few visits I have not been disappointed. Walking in you can see the place is kept pretty neat. Doesn't have a hint of a rotten smell like many other places do. The service is always quick and server (always a young guy) is nice and patiently answers all your questions. I used to think the faster the food is prepared, the worst it would taste.. but this place disproves that theory for me. The food almost always has come out in under ten minutes and ALWAYS tastes amazing. No matter what I've ordered always tasted good (ive tried their stir fries, curries, noodles, soups, and fried rice) not a single item has ever come tasting watered down like most places I've been to. You can always enjoy what you're eating.

Our most recent curry had only about five pieces of chicken, which was surprising. I'm not sure if this is because we ordered it to-go, but either way, it didn't feel like the same value we've experienced in the past. For now, we're going to pause on returning and try some other spots in the neighborhood instead. Hopefully this is just a temporary hiccup, because the flavors are still there

In fact, a majority of dishes I see at a Thai restaurant back home weren't on the menu. And they had an odd plate of sweet and sour anything. So they have that in Thai? I ended up getting the pad Thai. It was safe for me. I wasn't so sure about this salmon curry or avocado with any curry?!? This place seems to be a mix of Chinese and some Thai cuisine. I mean it's a fusion I have never seen. Overall three stars. The food was ok and the service fine. Plenty of seating and very clean. I'm not so sure what I paid for since we were a large party but everyone left happy. They just don't know what they're missing. Evil Jungle baby.

I thought Esan Thai looked the most promising. I asked which curries could be made vegan, and was told they all could. I opted for Mussaman curry. It was ready fairly quickly. It was pretty hot when I received it, which I appreciated. The flavor was just okay. I might try a different curry the next time I'm in Troutdale.

I recently had a pretty good experience at the Esan Thai food cart with the pineapple curry with chicken. After spending several days hanging out with my cousin who is "just not a curry person," I needed to have some good curry. Ideally, Thai food is best when shared with enough people to order curry, Pad Thai, fried rice, Satay, and dessert, but, if I had to pick just one thing, it's always curry. This cart had a wide selection of all my favorite curries, including pineapple, green, red, yellow, massaman, and panaeng, so it was hard to choose, but I ultimately went with pineapple. For $15, I thought the portion of curry was decent enough (about a quart), although the side of rice was only about half a cup. Still, I was able to make it work by letting the rice soak in the curry for several minutes before eating it. The fish sauce flavor was barely discernable, which is how I like it. I only really noticed it on one particular basil leaf. The chicken was perfectly cooked and marinated in the curry. The vegetables were fresh and delicious, but I just wished there was more of them. Customer service was friendly but not over the top friendly. It only took about six or seven minutes for my order to be ready. Overall this is the most legit Thai food spot I've found in the area so far, so I would definitely stop by again to try some of their other curries.
