I tipped $50--a generous 50%--but Tina seemed very disappointed and pressed for more, saying she usually gets $60 tip for an hour (implying even more for 90 minutes). She became confrontational, comparing me to her other customers who tip higher. When paying at the counter, there was confusion over change (language barrier didn't help), and the manager/owner? joined in, escalating things. They positioned themselves in a way that felt blocking, and despite yielding somewhat, paying well over the service cost (total around $175+ including the large tip), they still pushed for more with overflowing sarcastic "thank yous" as I left. A strong massage shouldn't come with guilt-tripping or high-pressure tactics over tips. Standard tipping etiquette for massages is 15-20% (higher for exceptional service), and $50 on $105 was already well above that. If the business relies so heavily on outsized tips to make up for low base prices, they should be upfront about expectations. I won't return, and I'd advise others to clarify all costs--including expected tips--before starting. Constant trying to crack my spine and up close my neck, at points it was good but when the elbows came into play those hurt all over my back.
