I bought balut(duck eggs) yesterday day and every single one of them were rotten. It's stinky, dry and brown. Only my dog find it appetizing but I don't even wanna give it to her! There are some eggs that date back to 2-3 weeks ago, I chose one that was dated one day ago, but I'm pretty sure they just took off the old date and placed a new one. There's many other stuff that's spoiled here too. I wonder how they even pass the department of health...

Thanks Asian mart for the homemade bò kho. Yummmmmm!

The moment you walk in this Asian mart, you'll notice there's ripe and rotten fruit being displayed outside the entrance. Once inside, you'll smell grossness, rotten meat. Poor ventilation system, I tell ya! But, I was able to get in and out within 15 minutes, cuz damn it stank in there! Got my ingredients to make bò kho (Vietnamese beef stew). The prices are reasonable and sometimes on the cheaper end, makes me wonder!! The staff are not friendly as if they hated life. This is my go to Asian mart whenever I crave for any Vietnamese cuisine. Cuz I live far away from my parents haha!

Close up of 802 brand dry vermicelli noodle. This is Cooked the same day I bought it.

This place is horrible. I never ever buy meat products from the "fresh" meat section. Once I saw a fly in their meat case. I told someone at the meat dept. and they didn't understand English and just shrugged it off. Another time I bought shrimp. They never leave the bag open for you to check the quality, they just tie it up and when you get home you find that is smells rotten. I believe I had my husband take it back and the cashier said something in Vietnamese and the workers all laughed. What's so funny? The fact that you're trying to rip people off by selling old shrimp? Then a year later, I bought a pack of the famous 802 brand DRY vermicelli noodles to make some fresh spring rolls (some call it salad rolls). I got home from the store, boiled my water like usual and cut open the package of noodles and threw half of the pack in the pot. Right when I threw it in the pot, I noticed something blackish. I looked closer and it was mold!!!! Inside the mold was something yellow. I have no idea what it was but I was so irritated!! I just got back from the store to start cooking and find that the noodles were bad! I was not about to drive back and bring the moldy noodle for them to see. And who knows if they would even give me a refund the following day if I waited to go back. FORTUNATELY, I had a small pack of another brand at home that was more than a few months old and were still good! Thank goodness. So in conclusion, always keep your receipts and check your meat or seafood to see if it's rotten. I would take it back the same day so they will give you your money back. Or just don't buy the stuff. I would say stick with dry or canned ingredients but my experience with that wasn't good either. BTW, today I was there buying green onions and tofu and there on the refrigerated shelf were 2 trays of MOLDY fried tofu they were still trying to sell! SMH!!! Where is the Health Dept???

This is your typical Vietnamese Asian Market but it's not very nicely laid out. It feels rather cramped. Everything seems to be thrown together due to space constraints. It's a quick go-to place if I'm in the area and I need some Asian vegetables that I can't pick up at your local grocery store. The customer service is touch and go. Sometimes you'll run into some friendly staff and other times, you get glares as if it's a bother that you even shopped there to begin with. There are a variety of meats and frozen foods available but I have never purchased anything other than vegetables. The other side of the store, one can purchase Vietnamese sandwiches. They're only about $3.50 a sandwich (give or take a few). I have never tried any of their sandwiches so I can't review those. There has never been an issue with parking. There's enough spots around the store as people are usually coming and going. I will continue to come here every so often only because of it's convenience when I just happen to be in the area. However it's not a place I recommend to friends.

I saw big sign of market at Kent. I looked around inside the store but nothing good foods and prices higher than other Asian store, I guessed. I didn't buy anything....I never happened to me before

Good Asian market with large variety of seafood and vegetables. A little on the dirty side but this is to be expected.

The samoon bread was insanely fresh. They were popping out batch after batch. That bread was soft, delicious & every ounce of comfort you could expect from fresh baked bread. I went a couple weeks ago and tried to order a shawarma but I must have came to early bc they were not ready. So today I decided to try again. I ordered the combo and the digital menu shows the combo as $14.99 but it rang up at $15.99. Not a big deal but the digital board should be updated. If you order online, the price does show for $15.99. The cashier was okay. Not as friendly with me as she was with others. It was like I was bothering her by ordering food. The gentleman who was in the back cooking my food was pretty friendly though. Honestly, based on the experience with the cashier it would be pretty easy to not rush back. But the shawarma was just good as I remembered. The chicken was juicy and extremely flavorful. Now that I work closer to this location, it will definitely be in rotation for me. The samoon was calling my name on this visit but I will definitely have to wait until next time and get it with some hummus. You can order the shawarma on the samoon also.

She charged me an extra $5 for the combo and lied that they don't offer sandwich only as an option anymore. Confronted her about it and she admitted to her dishonesty because she didn't want to figure out how to refund the $5. Burger was not cooked through and had lots of pink. Did not feel well taken care of as a customer.. Last time going to this market despite its layout. Owner needs to take care to improve quality of service and prepared foods.
