I noticed they even had a lot of Filipino items tons of different hot, sauces, and chilies and just a lot of good stuff tons of options they even sold beer and saki, which I thought was pretty cool. The cashiers were even pretty friendly. They do have a club membership deal kind of like most of our major grocery stores in the area so you can get discounts on future purchases. It was cool. I'll definitely go back.

The cashier didn't ask kindly, didn't clarify, just immediately assumed the worst and treated me with blatant disrespect in front of my children. To make matters even more infuriating, my elderly mother who was just trying to help separate our groceries had a plastic divider thrown at her by the cashier, who barked, "If you aren't paying for the other customer's groceries, you need to put that down." Excuse me?? Who talks to anyone, let alone a senior, like that? The entire transaction was hostile, uncomfortable, and humiliating. I was shaken, my daughter was upset, and it was clear this employee had no interest in basic decency or customer service. To top it all off and I wish this was an exaggeration multiple items in the produce section had visible MOLD. I originally wasn't going to say anything I was just going to assume maybe it was a bad time to shop and they just maybe didn't change things over but I started looking around and wondering, how many others have been mistreated...It feels like this place is completely falling apart in so many ways. We used to know this store so well I could list off prices without looking. But I'll gladly save myself the extra out of the way 15-minute drive now and head to Super G Mart where there's better variety, better prices, respectful staff, and an amazing bakery and hot food section. This place? It's become a complete and utter disgrace. I'm never coming back. Ever.

Of course it's no Patel Brothers but in terms of proximity to the university, it'll have to do. Lots of fresh veggies that never seem to run out. But in terms of stocking that's about the limit. There seem to be plenty of large bags of rice and dry spices too. However most aisles are lightly stocked and running out of packaged and frozen items. My friend introduced me to paneer patka (sp?), a frozen pancake-like item that is perfect for college students to heat up and eat in a jiffy. There were other things he just couldn't find though and even packages that had been opened and left on the shelf. There also wasn't much milk or yogurt to choose from in a single small refrigerator. At he register there were even fresh/homemade samosas. Took a few home and heated them up - they weren't bad! The guy running the register was pretty quiet and just getting the job done. Not sure if this is the owner I've read about in other reviews. He never offered much help with anything though. The store seems too big for what they stock. A few aisles were crammed and piled with fixture shelves and empty carts. They were impassible and messy but didn't have any food on them either so not a huge deal. The prices did seem steep but I don't have experience shopping at Indian stores so I can't really comment on whether or not they were normal. I would come back again with my friend if I'm in the area but there's a Patel Brothers much closer to where I live.

However, the person and (maybe) the owner are very friendly and helpful. I shop at international and Indian places at least once a month and I am still trying to find something that is closer to my house. I purchased my ghee, tahini, spices, flour, rice (big bag) and fresh paneer cheese here. Fresh paneer cheese is hard to find in Charlotte and this place has it. It is small, but so are most Indian shops. It was clean and very nicely laid out. I will be coming back if I am in the neighborhood.

I never jumped up so fast and got dressed and headed out the door before in my life. Okay, I did pause to call the store and make sure they were open and it was indeed a real place. And sure enough, they were open - so off I went. This store is in a small parking lot but easy to find. Sometimes they have their store van parked in the parking lot which makes it even easier to spot from the road. The store is only 3 aisles with a back room and 4 freezers full of authentic and delicious Filipino brands but you will not be disappointed. They carry all things Goldilock brands. They even had some Filipino items that I had never been able to find before. The owners are nice and friendly - always asking if I found everything I was looking for. The store is very clean and very well organized. They also offer deliveries and you can get more information on this on their Facebook page. It looks like they break up their delivery schedules by area. You can also call in your order and they will shop for you and you can just pick up for curbside delivery. They also do a pretty good job of updating their inventory on Facebook if you are looking for something specific. I love that I can now go to one store for all things Pinoy and get what I need.

If you're looking for a Harris teeter or Publix vibe, then stick to that. And if you don't know what you're looking for or just here to browse, then keep it moving. Maybe buy it on Amazon or make an Asian friend that's either first or second generation. The parking lot is very bad. The conditions of the shopping carts are very bad. This I cannot disagree with other reviewers with. I have to dock a star for that. But for the availability of grocery items, this is my go-to. I can't think of another market where I can find a 10lb can of sliced water chestnuts or something most roundeyes don't have a clue of. I'm here 1-2 times per week. If you see me, feel free to ask me questions. Or maybe take trip to an Asian city for a bit of culture so that you can truly appreciate what this store has to offer. There's more to life...
