I enjoyed almost everything I ate, although my niece said her silverware and some of the serving dishes weren't completely clean. I ate here once years ago and I'm glad to say the decor is greatly improved. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the side of fried rice, which was the right texture, but bland in flavor. read more

Happy that this little spot was turned into a good Chinese place. Close to home out in West Mobile. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I took the advice of others and we ordered the lettuce wraps, fried dumplings and General Tso Chicken ( could of had a bit more spicy heat) I agree that the fried rice lacks a bit of flavor - but is fresh. The decor inside is unexpected and lovely ( posted pic). I am looking forward to coming back at lunch for their $6.50 specials so I can try their other dishes too. read more

Hubby and I finally decided to give this place a try. Despite the plain outside appearance, the interior is really nice. The restaurant was clean and the seating was extremely comfortable. The noise level was quiet. So what did we eat? I have a big fan of seaweed salad and this was by far the best that I have had in Mobile. Hubby ordered some pork stuffed potstickers and really enjoyed them. We moved on to our main courses. I LOVE Pad Thai and this one did not disappoint! I selected shrimp for my protein and my dish was loaded with beautiful gulf ones! This dish was so tasty that you could skip the meat altogether. I ordered a side of fish sauce and I think my waitress was both surprised and happy that I even knew what that was! I love it with Pad Thai. It was on the spicy side, so make sure you keep that in mind when ordering. Hubby got beef and broccoli and really, really liked it. Lunch today was wonderful as always!! The issue we had was a server that would not be quiet. And to add insult to injury, she referred to herself as the cousin from "South Asia " as you can tell because of her accent. She Is NOT funny !! and while I am not Asian, I am insulted for the other employees. The food in this restaurant is always delicious! Placed an order for pick up, so I can't speak to the ambience of this place. However, I did notice the white linen on the table while I sat at the bar waiting for my order. That was unexpected, the place is in a strip mall. Called in an order and it was ready within 20 minutes. A lot of bang for your buck, so much food! Had the vegetable spring rolls (2 to an order). Get these, they were tasty! Also ordered was the Pork Lo Mein, General Tso's Chicken, and the Shanghai Chicken. Really enjoyed the Shanghai Chicken, cooked well and nice flavor. Watch out for the red chilies! It would be a mistake to eat a whole pepper in one bite! With just a nibble, my lips and tongue started to tingle. The fried rice was good too. Did it blow my mind? Well, no. But, it was a really yummy and filling meal! I would certainly order from here again if I lived nearby. read more

A lot of my Asian friends had given me bad reviews about this place but I know how fickle they are so I wanted to give it a try for myself. Glad I did. The food isn't superb but its a better quality than what you would be served at a buffet. I was there for their lunch service and was blown away by their lunch special. Dishes were $6.50 with an app and soup with the selection you made. How can you beat that? The mini crab rangoons in the app were great, the egg roll was ok (never been a fan of the Chinese cabbage egg rolls). I got the wonton soup with the Shanghai Chicken. My girlfriend ordered the Mongolian Beef with the sweet and sour soup. Soups were decent, nothing to brag about. The Shanghai chicken was good. They said it was spicy but if you didn't eat the chilies the chicken was cooked with, you couldn't taste any heat. The Mongolian Beef dish was pretty good too. I need to come back for their dinner service, but this is a great place to have a quick cheap lunch where you won't leave smelling like a buffet! read more

This place has awesome atmosphere and the service was the best I've had from any Asian restaurant. Super sweet servers. As for the food, I had the cashew chicken (stir fry chicken, mixed veggies, and cashews) which was yummy, and my hubby had pad thai. There are better places in Mobile to get pad Thai, so I don't suggest getting it here. There wasn't enough sweetness to it. Tried this restaurant out last night and the food exceeded my expectation First off, the prices are very reasonable. I had the Chicken Pad Thai. The portion of this dish was more than I expected to receive for the price and it was also very tasty. My wife had the Shanghai Chicken with fired rice. The chicken side of the meal had nice flavor/seasoning. The fried rice on the other hand could have been better. The staff were all nice and friendly. We were greeted immediately upon entering. Nothing bad to say about Asian Garden. I'm sure we'll dine there again and order takeout on days when we don't cook. read more

Our favorite oriental restaurant in the city. Great service every time we have been in there, whether lunch, dinner , after church, whenever. Love to pick up carry out and take home for a quick hot meal. Favorite dish? May sound too simple but their "Hot and Sour" soup is constantly great. The wait staff I got was very nice! She was on her thing. My cup was always getting refilled. She was checking on me. The food was ok. Could have been better. I gotten the general tos chicken lunch dish. The soup that came with it is why this review could have gotten a highier star rating. While I'm eating the soup I noticed something odd floating in it. I look closer and it has legs. It's a very tiny dead bug. Maybe it flew into the soup and died. You all need to get a fly catcher and keep the doors in the kitchen closed. I didn't eat the rest of that soup. The Rest of my food came and I was looking forward to a good amount here. Nope. It was one dish for the chicken which were tiny pieces and one for one scoop of rice. Kinda wish they put more rice and chicken on these plates. The sign that says bathroom will confuse the guys. You walk back there and both doors are labeled women. The men's bathroom is across the room. Looks like a closet made into a bathroom. Cuz there was another door that looked like it lead outside. The cups I'm not a fan of. Clear brown color Out dated cups. If something was floating that shouldn't be in there you were not going to see it. This place is great. So great, it's one of those "I want to give it a good review online, but I'm worried it will become so successful that I'll never be able to get a table there"-type places. Not that my word has that kind of influence, this place is just that good. In my experience, the food is fairly priced, the service is good, and the portions are generous (I'm a 22yo guy, if that helps you gauge what I mean by "generous portions"). Great lunch for 7.00. We like the chopped chicken lunch. Also cashew chicken. Lunch comes with soup and egg roll and 2 crab Rangoon. Then you get your fish and fried rice. All for 7.00. Best cheap lunch in west Mobile. Only thing to know is they are closed on Mondays :( read more

As per previous reviews this is my favorite Chinese restaurant. Great food, service, and value. I am updating my review to inform you of an interesting option at this restaurant. It is called hot pot. There are restaurants that are hot pot restaurants, but none anywhere close to Mobile. So Asian Garden is the only place for you to try this! You must call ahead to reserve this as they only have one hot pot table (seats 4), and for them to prepare the items for it. There is a burner in the middle of the table upon which they set a pot divided into 2 compartments. Each has a broth with ginger, green onions, and more. One side is "spicy" the other is not. They bring out plates of uncooked meats, meat balls (pork and beef), fish balls, mushrooms, etc. that you put in the broths to cook. We enjoyed everything, and were very full by the end of the meal, as always at this restaurant. Price per person for this was $20 and worth every penny. We can't wait to take more friends to try hot pot again. read more

My mom and I stopped in here for lunch yesterday. The decor was nice. Very clean. We were seated promptly. I ordered a lunch special. Kung Pao Shrimp. It comes with a choice of a bowl of Miso soup or egg drop. I chose Miso. Also an egg roll. The soup was brought out almost immediately which was great because we were starving. My mom ordered the exact same. The soup was delicious. The broth had very good flavor and came with green onions and some crunchy add ins. Not long after our entrees arrived. Probably the best Kung Pao Sheimp ever. It was served in a delicious, slightly spicy brown sauce. The shrimp was large and very nicely cooked. Vegetables had great flavor. Generous portion. The fried rice was fresh and very tasty. Service was great. The waitresses all work together. Overall a great experience. read more

We've enjoyed Asian Garden since it opened. Even though management has shifted from one person to another, the quality of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant hasn't changed. It's still the best bargain in town during lunch! I appreciate the friendliness of the staff who have memorized my entire family's regular order and how relaxing it is to eat there.
