When we called to let them know we didn't receive fried rice, we were told that this was their version of fried rice and that they don't add soy sauce or hoisin sauce. Instead, we were told they simply heat white rice in the wok. What was most disappointing was the response. Rather than apologizing or offering to correct the order, we were told that we "should have known" this is how they make it. This is especially frustrating since we've ordered from them many times in the past and their fried rice was always made with sauces and had the expected flavor and color. Authentic fried rice is cooked with sauces that give it both taste and color, so this explanation didn't sit right with us. After being a near-weekly customer, this experience was enough to lose us. We won't be ordering again--especially now that a new Chinese restaurant has opened in Manchester.

We have been there several times over the years and have always had a very good experience. Excellent food, huge portions, friendly service. Our waitress mentioned that she has worked there since they opened; a good sign. On our most recent visit we both ordered hot / sour soup and pork egg foo young. which was outstanding. Not cheap but the quality and portion sizes more than compensate for the price. The building is older and could probably use a revamping. But we didn't see anything suggesting that it's dirty. This included the restrooms. We don't get to Manchester often but when we do Aloha is a frequent stop. In fact we will likely make the trip for our anniversary dinner. in a few weeks! Just one suggestion: Make your lunch combos available all day, even if you have to charge a bit more at night.

It's designed for pallets that aren't educated on proper Chinese cuisine and flavoring. In saying that, they do have a good value menu of acceptable food. However, our last meal, the quality took a pretty big dip. I was frustrated that the sesame chicken was not white meat by default. Dark meat is an acquired taste and in this area, this is the first restaurant that served it as default. Another strange and frustrating trend with Asian restaurants in New Hampshire is that they offer two or three cuisines instead of focusing on one. A Chinese restaurant should not try to be doing Japanese cuisine and vice versa...

The noodles were mush. The fried rice was soggy, unfavorable, and oily. The bits of chicken in the entree were almost nonexistent inside its soft, not crispy, fried shell. The sushi was just as good as what you get at Market Basket, but more than double the price, and you got less of it. We picked it up at 5:45 on a Thursday night, and the place was almost empty. We prefer the Americanized Chinese food - call us lame if you'd like. This place is absolutely amazing. Their White Meat General Tso chicken is unmatched. We can't even find it anywhere else.
